H&LD E70 w/ Erik Wince: Learn all about coach and what he’s building at Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas. Wince has coached at almost every single level of the sport. He explains why he thinks he found his sweet spot at the Division II level. Prior to Fort Hays State, Wince has been able to be the first D1 NCAA qualifier at Gardner-Webb and then went on to coach the first qualifiers and All-American at Greensboro. H&LD E69 w/ Brett Robbins: He was coached by an Olympian and didn’t know it until years later. But the work he put in with that coach in regards to Greco and freestyle allowed him to find his way to Northern Iowa. Wrestling was his way to cope with his father’s battle with ALS. His decision to train freestyle over Greco for the senior level was simpler than it seems. Consistency has been a common theme for the Panthers this season and it showed in the State of Oklahoma this past weekend with Panthers first dual win in Stillwater ever. H&LD E65 w/ Chase Pami: Chase’s first introduction to wrestling was Greco-Roman practice. A talk with his church minister convinced him to pursue being a collegiate wrestler. The time Chase nearly became teammates with Jordan Burroughs, James Green and Jason Welch. Coach Slay followed Chase to Penn RTC. Chase talks about the decision to start Gold Rush Wrestling Academy. He’s found a unique way of incorporating a jujitsu-like “belt system” for his kids. Chase has a lot of great tidbits for those of coaching youth.
