Hell and Gone
Description
Hell And Gone is a true crime podcast from iHeartPodcasts and School of Humans that follows journalist and private investigator Catherine Townsend as she investigates unsolved deaths.
Now in its fifth season, Hell and Gone is going weekly.
Over the past five years of making true crime podcast Hell and Gone, host Catherine Townsend has received hundreds of messages from people all around the country asking for help with an unsolved murder that’s affected them, their families and their communities.
In past seasons of the show, she’s only been able to focus on one case. But now, she’s hosting a new weekly show called Hell and Gone Murder Line. Every Thursday, Catherine features a new case, adds updates to old ones, and helps as much as she can to get the word out about unsolved murders.
If you have a case you’d like Catherine and her team to look into, you can call the Hell and Gone Murder Line at 678-744-6145.
The sheer amount of ads is painful.
I'm really enjoying your podcast! Thanks for all your hard work!
Waay toomany commercials!
omgosh! I was 3 episodes in when I realized Doug the victim was Doug the pedophile....nowbi need to start over. it's very odd to me that people describe him as a good, kind man but then they also all know he's been grooming and eventually married a 12y old....and also April's parents seems sooo terrible...i don't understand how they could both have so many concerns about Doug's attention on their daughter but then allow her to be alone with him.
There are too many commercials!
Galesburg isn't across from the KY state line. It's located in NW IL closer to the IA border. just FYI on this location.

Hell and Gone has turned into the commercial podcast. if you enjoy listening to commercials, I highly recommend Hell and gone.
At 47:16 the episode abruptly end mid-sentence then cuts to credits. 😑
If something is dismissed with prejudice it means that the decision is final and cannot be brought again.
the inane conversations and fake terror seem to be made by and for 12 year olds
why are parts cut out?
Wtf
This was incredibly moving. Finally a promise answered. #justiceforrebecca
Is it possible that she was doing hallucinogens instead of drinking or smoking when she said she was "so F'd up" but "she didn't sound drunk"? Those things can make you trip out. She could have crawled into the sewer to get away from something she was hallucinating.
This show takes way too long to make any points.
Not liking the ammo sponsor. Do you really need them?
The nicotine adds are discussing!
half this episode is commercials
why didn't they have the service but just wait on the actual burial??
seems to be my next binge worthy podcast ..hoping that I'm not making a bad decision by beginning to invest time to listen to this one!
Referring to truck convoy episode, a lot of facts are wrong. Go Fund Me largest donations before this was Humboldt tragedy. There are thousands of trucks but media wont allow anything truthful that is positive. Truckers are complying and police are actually delivering hot food to them and saying good things. They are peaceful and its the few ppl not involved wih the convoy making trouble. If you are basing this podcast off of ctv news or any other main news story yous are being fooled. These are all blue collar workers supporting a cause and have been made out to look like something different. I'm not for or against it but its disgusting how main stream media is portraying this. I live 1 hr outside ottawa and there has been minimal problems and so much love. The unity is unbelievable. Did you hear about them playing street hockey? Did you see the pics of them laying flowers at the statues? Cleaning the monuments? Of course not, just that some idDid you hear about them having peace
why does she keep saying "I visited Chris in prison a few years ago", over and over, but never says why? that's really annoying
I find that a podcast so annoying it just drags on and on. Hosts go and talk to the two main suspects JD & Chris and and don't even ask them Why they were accused & why they thought each other did it????!!! then they bang on for another a whole episode just throwing up ideas? You interviewed them both? why didn't you ask them why they thought each other did it?? They must've had a problem with her
okay I am listening to this in 2021 and I Googled it and see that someone was arrested and confessed in April of 2021. Justice is going to get you some kind of way whether you least expect it or not. she was so pretty and had such a bright future ahead of her it's really sad as a mom I can't even imagine the pain her parents have felt all these years not knowing what happened to her way back in 2004 then to find out now what happened and how horribly horrific it was.
Remember the witness who saw who saw a guy with texas plates at casey's? well that's the guy they arrested. Townsend did shit all to solve this. seriously..what new evidence did she find? she had a hard on for Casey..which yes, it's usually the husband/ boyfriend but man she totally ignored that major clue. what a waste of my time.
why clarify that Casey is living in the trailer his girlfriend was murdered in? what wrong with that? it's not ideal but not everyone can afford to live anywhere they want.
me god, the title is so disgusting
So, what is the theory here? Did the police deputies rape her? did that deputy drive her to a second location and let her go? did anyone from the restaurant live in the area she was seen in? like, could Mitrice have asked the deputy to take her to the home of someone who was at that table she migrated to but didn't know the exact address and got dropped off in the vicinity? She got lost on trails as it was dark and thought she was one place but was somewhere else. Could that home owner who said she was on his back porch have confronted her, choked her out and killed her? Could a deputy have confronted her and killed her accidentally? Then, taken her body and dumped it and gone back later and planted her stuff in the woods leading to get body once the family was making such a stink about things?
Seems really sketchy. Need more information.
Everyone knows LA police department is, at worst, corrupt and, at best, underfunded. Why did that person imply they hadn't found the body where reports were claiming? Why didn't they just cordon off the area and wait till daylight? Why were some of Mitrice's things found so far from her body? Could she have pink teeth from blood stains from an injury?
Why couldn't the cops have driven her back to the restaurant? She could have caught a ride with a squad car or something. Why wasn't she taken to the hospital, is the main question really? Could she have been trafficked? Can't wait to find out how long her body had been dead when found.
So here’s my theory. She choked on food, passed out, fell and perhaps broke something internally. Kids put her in back of truck. They do turn left going direct to hospital but because of the crash they turn around. When turning around the car gets stuck or pivots in a way that her body somehow rolls out of the bed causing her more injuries and perhaps made her internal injuries worse ie punctured something and also that’s why she’s covered in sand. Kids take her to car wash and spray her off hoping to cover it up.

quarterback and cheerleader in a sports state...hmmmm nobody looked at them very closely I bet
I keep checking back, hoping there will be some news about Rebekah or a trailer for a new season! I hope you continue to explore cases like this!
Absolutely agree with her dad. What a horrible death. Hopefully it’s solved
how do I find season1?
Most annoying voice ever
Ask her about her dads criminal record
