Henshin Power V3

The HPV3 boys (mostly Chris the Sentai Guy and Jake the Metal Don) almost summon the Dragonzord with all of their censored profanities in their second episode on Kamen Rider 555 (“Faiz”). The wonky subtitles from TOKU HD continue to be unintentionally funny, and Nathan the TsuBro “rantmasters” about how all of the characters’ problems could be solved if they learned to communicate (“Just ask for a full name!”). They also need a chart to track the tangled web of would-be romantic entanglements on this show. Also, Chris has a, shall we say, strong reaction to Kamen Rider Kaixa (hence the Dragon Daggers). “Open your eyes to the next Faiz” episode of HPV3! After an overlong a year-and-a-half, Henshin Power V3’s long-promised coverage of Kamen Rider 555 (or Faiz) is finally here! While some of what Nathan (“The TsuBro”), Jake (“The Metal Don”), and Chris (“The Sentai Guy”) discuss is out-of-date, Chris and Nate’s newfound appreciation for this series isn’t. This Rider show is a surprisingly complex story in more ways than one, as you’ll hear throughout their discussion of the first ten episodes, especially in the thematic discussion. What makes 555 unique is all 50 episodes were written by the same man, who has connections to anime like the classic Death Note. A frequent butt of the joke is the infamous TOKU HD’s awkward or just plain bizarre subtitles (“I am a part-time job!”) for what is, believe it or not, an official release of the series. The wait is finally over! Let’s ride! Join us for our “This Week in Tokusatsu” livestreams on our YouTube channel! Contact: [email protected].
