On today’s show, we are going to break down the USMNT’s win against Jamaica in the quarterfinals of the Nations League. The U.S. went down to Jamaica in the first leg and won 1-0 and then played the second leg in St. Louis on Monday night, winning 4-2. Although we’re still waiting on an official announcement, multiple outlets have reported that Mauricio Pochettino will be the next head coach of the USMNT. Pochettino has coached at some of the biggest clubs in Europe but it seems like his time at Tottenham from 2014-2019 was especially important in his career and arguably the job he’s most known for. It’s been about one week since Gregg Berhalter was relieved of his head coaching duties for the USMNT. Matt Crocker, the Sporting Director for U.S. Soccer, has said that he’d like to have a new coach in place before the U.S. plays their September friendlies.
