Description

Join us as WE come together to see the issues and the needs of today’s HEROES, our veterans and first responders. WE will discuss the solutions and see the organizations that are boots on the ground as WE combat the silent, invisible and deadly enemies our HEROES are facing. WE are a grassroots, nonpartisan, nonprofit acting in the Mission to honor, empower and support those who have served. WE are the shock and awe in combating the silent, invisible and deadly enemies of our daily heroes, the First Responders and Veterans. Our goals come on many levels and forms as WE are raising awareness to those who do not know, WE are providing resources to those in need and WE provide the opportunities to those who are still interested in serving and/or have not had or taken the chance to serve before. WE are the beacon of hope for many to change their world through recalibration and rehabilitation. Our goals are to get our HEROES back into their families and communities. Happy Heroes create happy communities.

We Got Your 6@6 Episode 133: Tonight’s episode will feature two amazing new guests. While out Hitting the Ground, we have had the fortunate opportunity to meet with members of Wounded Warriors Guide Service right here in Minnesota.  Caleb Huss, one of the hunting trip planners, and brand new Vice President of WWGS. Caleb is an Army veteran, and after his own experience has decided that he has a passion for helping other wounded veterans. WWGS uses their hunting and fishing experiences to take small groups of veterans to remote places for fun and activities, but the bonding and camaraderie is the main focus, as that is often where the healing begins.  Our stunning music artist tonight is David Allen Stone.  David is still active in the Army, and being a leader looks good on him! So far David is eighteen years in and still loves his job. David re-found his passion for music after joining the service. He was able to spend some time learning music and instruments, and songwriting comes with the package. It was when he lost a dear military friend to suicide that he wrote his song “Bury These Burdens”. This song is in a Country Network competition at the moment. David is Hitting the Ground running with his musical talent, and is hoping to share it everywhere. Saving one life or hundreds makes all of the work worth it.  On 22 January, We Got Your 6@6 Patriot Playtime will feature guest Earl Granville and music artist and entertainer Clayton Q. These guys will make your world a better place, just by knowing who they are.  Please make time to stop in and give it a listen!   The People’s Patriot Project exists to be the shock and awe when combating the deadly and invisible enemy that is killing our heroes.  We are always Hitting the Ground with our boots on and ready to serve those who have served.  Our guests have hopefully been inspired to move forward and help support and empower those who are still with us and remember those who are not.  If you want to be involved in helping and paying it forward, please get in touch with us and we will find a place for you.  #communityheroes   #NeverForget   #PatriotPride   WE are all about making relationships and being the communication that others sometimes let slip by. It’s about those who served, and we are here now to serve them. If you get a chance, please check out our guests' talents on their media outlets, Facebook, Instagram and websites. #PatriotPride #ShockandAwe #communityheroes #heroesmediagroup #thepeoplespatriotproject #torememberisnotenough #veteranmusicians #HinderlessVoices #HittingtheGround #triplemartiniproductions #B3Brave
This episode should really make all of us rethink our ‘cozy’ lives. We are reminded to not take things for granted and to enjoy each day as it comes. We are joined by Jessica Lynch, who will always be known as the female prisoner of the Iraqis after a skirmish in 2003. It is 20 years later, and the memories are still vivid, but Jessica is her own person now and has faced that moment and learned to grow.  The WeP3 team of Mark, Andrea and Jonathan have been working hard to put things together in a fun and informative way, with the goal to help all in getting involved. We love to hear the raw stories and the raw songs from our guests, as they share their stories of service and selfless support to keep our country and communities safe. WE are ready to Be a part OF, not apart FROM, and WE will conquer the world of PTSD and suicide of our service people. Remembering is not enough, and there is strength in asking for help. Our guests inspire our listeners to continue the mission they need to better themselves every day and to move forward in helping, supporting and empowering those who are still with us and remembering those who are not. Remember, no matter your role, Make It Convenient, Keep it Simple. Even when times are at their worst - Never Surrender!! #communityheroes #NeverForget #beapartofandnotapartfrom #PatriotPride #StickingTruetoourMissions #ThereisStrengthinAskingforHelp #ToxicPositivity  #GettingInvolved #DevotiontoDuty   WE are all about making relationships and being the communication that others sometimes let slip by. It is Suicide Awareness Month, and we need to be aware. There is no one answer, no one fool-proof therapy or counseling method that will keep this from happening. It will take all of us and we will need to work together to keep this demon at bay. This is an episode that shares an amazing man’s walk with grace. Joel Grant Faulisi shares the story of his beginnings and where he is now. There are so many impacts caused by broken bonds, but a military brother or sister separation due to a disagreement in political or ideological differences can leave a void in one’s life. It is difficult enough to navigate life after serving, but the added stress of brotherhood gone south is what Joel confronts in this episode. As he is also a musician, Joel sums it all up in the phrase, divided by ignorance, united by music. We also have some rocking music on this episode! The first song is I Bow My Head. This is a Patriotic song from Jack. The second song is When Doves Cry, which was a cover of a Prince song. Dedicated to the Minnesota part of the crew. The third song, Living A Lie, was written when he was taking some time off of music. Next Week's Guests:    William Stephens   The People’s Patriot Project exists to be the shock and awe when combating the deadly and invisible enemy that is killing our heroes. We will move forward building with new and old friends and loyalty, and with our boots on and ready to serve those who have served. WE are ready to Be a part OF, not apart FROM, and WE will conquer the world of PTSD and #suicide of our service people. If you are struggling to find where you belong, and there is separation from your battle buddies, keep in mind that we can be divided by ignorance, united by music. Put some of that good vibes back in your life while you try to repair those relationships and find your place. Remembering is not enough, and there is #strength in asking for help, Even If It Hurts. While Only You are responsible for your own problems, there is still help and support for you. When you have the drive to move, and the background of a father who was inspiring and supportive, what can you get done?   Our guest this week hails from the great state of Missouri, and has found her place in NYC. She owns and runs an insurance company, is a professional witness, has written and book and become a keynote speaker, and is always on the go. Listen in as she shares how her father was an inspiration to her, in words and actions, and she has used that to inspire and coach others, as well as remember and honor her father. Susan Combs will entertain and captivate as she shares her upbringing and the lessons she learned.  A new name to the People’s Patriot Project, Allen Hayes brings some depth and fun to the show on this episode. He was fresh off a trip to Camp Southern Grounds where he got to write songs with and meet 11 other veteran musicians for the first time. Allen spent 8 years in the Air Force where he was an F-16 Pilot. He says it’s all fun until you’re in the war. His first song was Over and Over and he said it was about knowing that you can never take that uniform off once you put it on. You will always be a soldier. The next song was Little Things about being a dad. This song was written for his son, Liam. He got the chance to play this song for his son at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. The last song was called Smoke Show. This is a get up, get out there and dance song. It’s about when a girl walks into a bar and can captivate the entire bar with her dancing ability.  Things we are working on: Wreaths Across America  –  https://www.facebook.com/share/129xDbNmPTJ/?mibextid=WC7FNe  WeP3 RADIO  — it is up and running again!!!  https://live365.com/station/WeP3-RADIO-a51414  If you would like to watch the live version, you can find it here on YouTube:   https://www.youtube.com/live/IR1KMNNfioI?si=QzZDbD7bXVFBRySz  Andrea: What’s Coming Up:  Next Week's Guests:  Veteran Healing Admin Matthew Jones The People’s Patriot Project exists to be the shock and awe when combating the deadly and invisible enemy that is killing our heroes.  We will move forward building with new and old friends and loyalty, and with our boots on and ready to serve those who have served. How can you combine fun and healing? During this episode, we find out how Walleye Searchers of Minnesota combine fun with camraderie and turn it into moments of healing. This group has been running fishing tournaments for a long time and when they put on their veterans fishing tournament, there are always surprises throughout the day. From deep conversations out on the water to seeing a buddy you haven’t seen since Vietnam, this group is amazing! The healing skills of fishing are shared by the board members Caleb Buenger, Nick Dennison and Kevin Valento. These are representatives from Walleye Searchers of Minnesota, and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They love to fish, and they have found that by sharing this love, they can help veterans and make them feel cared for.  Lack of a musician does not mean we skipped the music this time. We chose of few of our favorites (joke is on you - they are all our favorite!). We started out with Minnesota native group, Lake and Lyndale. The song, Still Here, is a peppy song that has the most amazing vocals. We then played Bury These Bones by David Allen Stone, and that one has a haunting tale of coming home without you Battle Buddies. We then finished with a song by our new friend, Mikele Buck, who’s Irish Road song tells the story of the road dubbed the ‘most dangerous’ in Bagdad that was traveled by many of our soldiers. Mikele does an amazing job giving honor to those who have been there.  Next Week's Guests:    Susan Combs with Pancakes for Roger Music with Allen Hayes The People’s Patriot Project exists to be the shock and awe when combating the deadly and invisible enemy that is killing our heroes. We will move forward building with new and old friends and loyalty, and with our boots on and ready to serve those who have served. If you have ever been unsure of your excitement, of lack of, for your country and what freedoms we have, please listen to this episode. You will want to Stand Up and let your patriotism shine! The team from THE PEOPLE’S PATRIOT PROJECT visits with two amazing guests this week, and you will leave with no doubt that we live in the greatest place on earth!  There are many factors in this conversation that will connect the dots, but no matter where you stand on the road of democracy, the night with these two will lift your spirits and keep you in a positive frame of mind.  We start out with Col (Ret) Mikel Burroughs sharing what he has been up to. Burroughs is involved in many projects and events, and he is always lending a hand to help support our military members. One of the most exciting is the news about hyperbaric chambers, not new, but more availability to those who have served. This is a great topic about healing and relieving pain! Mikel is also heavily involved with Victory for Veterans and tells how they are championing their world and reaching out to all.  Music on this episode is supplied by our friend, Dave Bray USA! Dave brings the energy and talent that he uses to do good. It is without fail that he entertains, teaches and loves his country with a passion!  Dave started out explaining his love for his country, and we listen to his upbeat version of The Star Spangled Banner.  This is followed by his explanation of his newer song, Stand Up, written with his passion of supporting first responders and the daily grind as they fight to keep our communities safe. The last song Dave shares is his respectful Halleluja song. He took the liberty to change the lyrics and make them to support our first responders and what they go through on the daily.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we enter this hot presidential election and the holidays coming up. This episode has the team from THE PEOPLE’S PATRIOT PROJECT has the team rolling with stories of love, family, faith and bonding with Racquel Parfait, who comes with a list of accolades that you can’t hold a candle to, and Gary Kiger, who will rock you to the core of your being with his music. These guests just met a few months ago when Rockie went to listen to a couple bands. There was a connection, beginning with the music, but there was also a service connection.  Racquel is on the WeP3 Board, and she brought Gary into the fold with the hopes of sharing his music with our fans and followers. Gary has been busy creating and recording, and we are sure you will hear much more about him along the way!! October has many focus points that we should be aware of: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Country Music Month Emotional Wellness Month National Depression Education and Mental Health Screening Month National Disability Employment Awareness Month National Domestic Violence Awareness Month This episode has the team from THE PEOPLE’S PATRIOT PROJECT has the team rolling with stories of love, family, faith and brotherhood with our friends Kevin Key and Frank Gonzales.  These two are spending their time taking care of each other and others while they live their busy lives. Kevin is very busy with running a ranch, writing a book with his wife, and creating a safe space in their Florida town for families to spend safe and fun times together, doing things they are used to doing, but under a roof of safety and family. Frank Gonzales has a musical talent as well, and entertains us with some of his favorite songs … which he plays live! You can’t lose by opening up with “I Can Only Imagine”, which is how Frank opens every one of his gigs. He followed up with his version of putting it all in a “Nutshell” by Alice in Chains, another song that has great meaning to him. Frank finished the night sharing “Amarillo By Morning”, and does this one amazingly! October has many focus points that we should be aware of: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Country Music Month Emotional Wellness Month National Depression Education and Mental Health Screening Month National Disability Employment Awareness Month National Domestic Violence Awareness Month This episode has the team from THE PEOPLE’S PATRIOT PROJECT discussing a host of topics - from what it means to be an American to what foods Petersen can imitate from his visit to Louisiana.  A couple special guests popped in to say hi - Eric Oligschlager who is the founder of The Chad O Foundation dropped by, as did David Willis, Jr from Homefront SitRep. Its an exciting night to catch up on all the burning questions. The music on this episode was choice by Petersen.  He started with Kimberly Meyer - Out That Door, followed by Mike Donnell - With You, and finishing with CJ Garton - Ferris Wheel.  Some of the most awesome songs and music artists we have had on the show over the years! It is the end of Suicide Awareness Month, and we will not stop combating this deadly enemy. There is no single answer, no single fool-proof therapy or counseling method that will keep this from happening. It will take all of us and we will need to work together to keep this demon at bay. This is an episode that shares insights from William Stephens. From his beginnings in Desert Storm, with stories of his deployment as a forward observer, to where he is today, William Stephens shares his experiences and what led him to write his book, The Mirror. The Mirror delves into the lives of individuals grappling with various traumatic events, illnesses, and disorders, with the author personally navigating through post-traumatic stress disorder. It serves as an uplifting read for those battling their inner demons stemming from past traumas. Stephens labels this work as therapeutic poetry, comprising simple verses and short stories aimed at guiding readers on a journey beyond the surface. Drawing heavily from personal experiences, particularly within the military and relationships, from childhood to the present day. The Broken Mirror will be out soon - Halloween, which deals with post-service and how he is mending the relationships that were broken while he was gone.  Stephens is a persistent person, and his perseverance is driven by the desire to get the word out and help others deal with things he has seen and experienced through service.  The help he hopes to accomplish is not just for those who have served … it is for anyone who has PTSD they are dealing with.  Music on this episode: ** Lake & Lyndale - Still Here   **Mike Ponder - Better Days   **Better Be Tough - John Hensley Next Week's Guests:   Jason Michael Carroll The People’s Patriot Project exists to be the shock and awe when combating the deadly and invisible enemy that is killing our heroes.  We will move forward building with new and old friends and loyalty, and with our boots on and ready to serve those who have served. This is a very informational and inspirational episode.  We are here with Deke Letson who runs the group Veterans Exploration Therapy.  There is so much to this program, and the pride put into running this to make all trips come down to the fun and bonding.  The best part, as Deke says, is when you run into some of those who have taken part in an adventure and you hear how it was the most exciting thing they have ever done. This was created out of a desire to help other veterans find their way without waiting for space or being on a cocktail of meds before getting some real help.  Listen to Deke explain Like, What’s Your Jam, with a mix of his own story and how he came to found the Veterans Exploration Therapy group.  We also have some rocking music on this episode!  The first song is Better Be Tough by John Hensley. Our guest was talking about soldiers doing dumb soldier stuff and this song came to mind as he did. This may even be fitting for the saying of the night, Like, Whats Your Jam. The second song is Irish Road by Mikele Buck. This song is a nod to “Route Irish,” about Baghdad Airport Road which is a 7.5 mile road between the green zone and Baghdad Airport. This is such a great song. This is a very sensitive episode. It will take you through the stories of two men who served, who each have a different story to tell about their experience with suicide after service. There is no single situation that is the same as anybody else’s, but there are people in front of you that want you to be here tomorrow.  We are here with Aaron Hudgins, the surviving spouse of SSG Jari J. Hudgins (US Army / Oklahoma Army National Guard as well as a 26-year veteran in the Oklahoma Army National Guard (AGR-Active Reserve Guard Reserve).  Aaron has a lot to share, but in this episode he will delve into life’s extenuating circumstances after losing his wife to death from suicide.  After his wife suffered a broken hip while training for her 3rd deployment at Fort Bliss Texas, she would be sent to the WTU at Fort Hood she was going to be medically retired. When she came home, she would die from suicide on 29 April 2018.  She left behind 2 beautiful daughters and 3 stepsons. How she died wasn't a selfish act, she made a decision when facing an overwhelming enemy force, the enemy in her head in the form of depression, anxiety and PTSD.   We also have Emmanuel, also known as the musician, Romeo Vaughn. He’s gone through addiction and crisis and admittedly attempted to take his own life. He has had some transformations in life recently by giving his life to Jesus. His first song is one he recently wrote, named His Name Is Jesus. He has another song that was a Crowder cover. The song was All My Hope.  After Romeo heads out, we picked out a song from the list of our artists that seems very fitting, Shannon Book with You Are Not Alone. This week our show was sponsored by Smart Living - presented to us by Brian Kendzor and Andrea Eichmann. We also appreciate those others who are sponsoring our newsletter: Catch22 (Derrek Iozzio), Operation Texas Strong (Bobby and Peggy Crutzinger), who have just given home #197 to a homeless veteran (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/woX2Wef1Vd5ji7VK/ ), The BOHO HOBO’s Hideaway with Lauren Iozzio, and our very own - Kimmer Gwinner!!! WeP3 Pledge WE KNOW WHY WE GET TO DO THIS... THANK YOU TO THE SERVICE MEMBERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS THAT HAVE COMMITTED THEIR TIME, SWEAT, BLOOD, LIMBS, FAMILY and LIFE... TO GIVE US THE FREEDOMS WE HAVE THAT ALLOW US TO DO WHAT WE DO DAILY. We had an amazing guest with Kevin Palmer! He has been on the show before, but he has been busy making changes and growing his business! It was so awesome to get back and catch up with him, and hear about what he has been working on. Kevin opens up and shares about the things that he puts in his songs, including some of the problems he has gone through and the realization that it is up to him to realize that only he is responsible for his own problems, and that is commendable. Kevin shares some of his best music on this episode. He had a new album out just last week called Missouri Rebel. He shared a few songs from the album and some of his older stuff.  Summer Rain is the first one shared on this episode. This is one of the first songs he ever wrote. It’s about coming to a realization that only you are responsible for your problems. Then, we go into Dead Man Walking.  This one is off of his new album and he’s got a video for it as well. Make sure you go to YouTube and check it out. Cotton Belt Queen is the 3rd song that he shared with us. This is an upbeat different feel off the new album. Every song tells a story and Kevin wanted to make sure that his album told different stories. We had an amazing guest with Lauren Iozzio.  Lauren hails from a family, especially her dad, that cares about taking care of people.  She has worked her way into understanding the human brain in a way that she can help them with choices they make.  Lauren has been in the field of service as an adult, and has also created a safe and relaxing space for others in her AirB&B called the BOHO HOBOs Hideaway, found in Lexington TX. Hockett shares his music with us on this episode. Hockett was a Navy Corpsman in service for 4 years. We start the night off with the very first song he recorded. Talk about setting the bar high with 'Dotted Line'. They were in the studio for 14 hours trying to put something together. He went in with a completely different track to record and ended up leaving with this song on record. The next song was No One Else On Earth. This is a cover of a Judd's song that was done with Kimberley Meyer, another one of our former guests. This is on another level. What a heck of a job covering an iconic female voice in country music. Hockett and Kimberley Meyer are both signed with United Republic Records. Lastly, we get to hear 'Red Flags'. This song is about when you're in a relationship and things aren’t going well, but you stay anyways and won’t leave because “something” good is keeping you there. Hockett is currently working on putting together an album and putting the final touches on their 2025 tour. You can find them on Spotify and on YouTube and on WeP3 radio coming very soon. We have an amazing guest with Charlie Hines. Charlie has his own studio and recorded our Kimmer’s story into a song …. He is talented, He is an Army brat, currently living in Cincinnati Ohio. Works with Veterans through the Cincinnati VA Courage groups. We got to hear him interact with Kimmer as they explained how they met and how he wrote her song … and it is a bit of a heart-string pull. Growing up, Charlie had many different experiences with life. His father was working his way to General, and he cherishes the time he got to spend with him. Charlie has a big heart, and he shares that through his work at the VA with the Courage Groups. He is so talented with writing and producing music, and that keeps him busy in all his ‘spare’ time. The songs we shared last night were perfect to show his talent and his emotional connections to life 🙂 Charlie was a piece that helped Kimmer find herself, and helping her say “I Am No Longer No One”. We also had Kimmer Gwinner herself on the show, and watching them interact with each other for the first time face to face was an awesome experience! Charlie shares three amazing songs with us. The amazing quality of these songs makes us want to hear all of them! Each song has its own story, and this is a story with all the personal feels. The first song shared is “Something to Say”. This was written about our good friend after she shared her thoughts, poems, feelings and stories with him. He captures the essence of Kimmer and walks us through her journey, good and bad. In the end, Kimmer can say with belief, “I am no longer no one”. In the second song, Charlie writes more about his own life, and the main character is his HERO - his very own father. This song is the most touching dedication to the man who lived his life right and raised his children well. Charlie is proof of this 🙂. Charlie’s last song, Courage to Change, was written for the veterans at his Cincinnatti Veterans Courage Groups. This one is inspired by a woman from a group he works with. She saw something on the wall and when she went to read it, it was Have the Courage to Change. They are lucky to have him around, and he shares this song just for them. Next Week's Guests:    Lauren Iozzio - The Boho Hobo’s Hideaway Hockett - music!
This week our show is sponsored by Smart Living - presented to us by Brian Kendzor and Andrea Eichmann. We also appreciate those others who are sponsoring our newsletter: Catch22 (Derrek Iozzio), Operation Texas Strong (Bobby and Peggy Crutzinger), The BOHO HOBO’s Hideaway with Lauren Iozzio, and our very own - Kimmer Gwinner!!! We have an amazing guest from the world of EMS on our show. Jamil Moutron is a spectacular steward of the profession he lives. Jamil shares the trials and the triumphs of living in a remote area, where emergency response can take up to 40 minutes to show up!  There is also a family aspect, as his son, daughter and wife are all in the first responder and nursing world in the same county and it is as rewarding as it is a challenge! They are the family that could … and did, and does!!  We also had another one of our amazing artists on. Dom Cours graced us with his presence - and he is bad - ass!  One new song recorded per week - I would say he is on a mission! For his first song he shares Ten Toes:  It is an amazing piece about getting your feet on the ground, and what it takes to get started and stay on task. Dom’s second song of the night is Our ever - favorite song, of which we use in our intro for our Sunday show, Roll On!  This came complete with the video from when we first met Dom … with the mountain man look!  Dom’s third song was written in Iraq, and performed here live, and it was such a great song!  Sadly, the mic he had set up lost his voice early on, but we let him run with it, as the guitar piece was amazing!  Having Dom as part of our lives helps make us the Family that could … and Did!! Tonight our show was sponsored by Smart Living - presented to us by Brian Kendzor and Andrea Eichmann. Al Stitt is a Navy veteran. His mission is to introduce people to a unique system that helps us understand other peoples’ values and communicate with them more effectively.  This can be used to help relationships, make it easier to get people to open up about their problems, as well as to help decide on the best approach for dealing with those problems.  Al has vast knowledge of the psychology behind our social and emotional systems, and he has a lot of experience with life and career coaching that comes in handy when working with veterans.  Al has a passion for helping those who have served, but is also there for any and all who need that kind of support. There were several mentions about how things change when we work together.  Jenn Ford and her husband & manager Eric were able to jump on and share their story and their time with us. Jenn has an album out called “Americana” that most of her music came from last night. Americana is a collection of Jenn’s favorite music from American artists. Her first song was Nutshell, a cover of Alice In Chains from that album. It is one of my favorite songs and Jenn does a wonderful job on the cover of it. The video is also amazing and wants to show vets that you can find your group of people that you can have the freedom to be yourself as well as co-exist with others with all that type of growth and personal freedom.  The second song was Gold Dust Woman, a cover of Stevie Nicks. It is another amazing cover and also off of her Americana album. The last song was Woman In Black and it is one of Jenn Ford's Original songs. Great song, great beat, great lyrics and rhythm. She is the “Woman In Black.” Jenn has been a friend for a long time, and she can give testimony to the belief that things change when we work together, and we don’t selfishly hold things to ourselves.  WeP3 RADIO https://live365.com/station/WeP3-Radio-a15362 If you would like to watch the live version, you can find it here on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/live/E8y4uVwOkok?si=mLKELd5rhchBOMI-  Andrea: What’s Coming Up:  Next Week's Guests:    Jamil Moutron - EMS and  Dom Cours   The People’s Patriot Project exists to be the shock and awe when combating the deadly and invisible enemy that is killing our heroes.  We will move forward building with new and old friends and loyalty, and with our boots on and ready to serve those who have served. This episode brought us a new face and story with James Howard and his mission called Homeward Bound Adirondacks. This group’s mission is very comprehensive with the veterans’ needs at the forefront. They provide services such as: Our specialized services include: Suicide Prevention, Nature Retreats, Peer Mentoring, Crisis Outreach, Screening and Assessments, Case Management, Linkage and Transportation, and Referral Services. James shares his own story, and how Homeward Bound Adirondacks can be a beacon of help for all.  Johnny Cole Murdock joined us to share some more of his new music. He has been working diligently to finish up some of his thoughts and tunes and get it out to us. Johnny started out the night by sharing his thoughts about his song, These Colors Don’t Run. This patriotic song may be the next big hit for 4th of July events and any gathering where we are all proud to be Americans! After much more conversation and sharing, Johnny introduced another new song that was co-written with CJ Soler and produced in Nashville, called Heart Sunk Low. “This is a cool kinda Southern Rock song”. We finished the night with a song from Topher (feat. The Marine Rapper) called Patriot.  Things we just finished: A Trip for Wreaths Across America!!! This episode brings great conversation with Mitch Maki - and he is here to share and teach. He works closely with the families of Japanese American soldiers from WWII. There are so many feels during this episode, with the way the Japanese Americans were being treated in the USA, and the way the men took the call to defend this country in the hopes that it would show the loyalty and desire to be Americans.  Find out more about this group at the following website:  https://goforbroke.org/ In the end, Dr. Maki agreed that Chris was right in his words, that We are All in the Same Boat, and we can work through this together. Last night Chris Turner was also here to share some of his new music!  Chris has been very busy lately and is putting out some new stuff!! Please go and pre-download the album on ITunes – it will help Chris out tremendously. His EP is called “For The Country”. The first song we hear is ‘All in the Same Boat’.  Even Dr. Maki agreed that we’re all in the same boat, for sure. The next song, ‘For the Country’ is the namesake for the album. Chris was at a Gold Star family event and learned about this soldier named Rockie from Dayton, Ohio. Ricky went out to help his fire team and took 2 rounds to the chest and would end up losing his life. This song was rewritten from the original to include Rockie and some of his story. The third song this episode is simply called ‘Keith’. This song was co-written with Cooper Lane, who wanted to write a song about Keith Whitley and then it turned into writing about a personal friend, a man who inspires and impresses with his amazing and supporting personality. Things coming up: A Trip for Wreaths Across America!!! Mark and Andrea will be traveling to Maine to learn more about the Worcester family and the tradition of honoring those who have served and passed with a wreath on their grave.  Next Week's Guests:    James Howard - Homeword Bound Adirondacks Johnny Cole Murdock Music This is a great lineup - please check out all their music! Our music on this show features some amazing music from Mark Ware. He has stories to tell, and many of those stories can be found in his songs.  1st Song: It’s Gonna Take a Miracle -  This is his second run at making his music a living. He was doing great things and running the circuits with Jason Aldean and others when his 14 year old daughter and then went off the deep end and was drinking a fifth of whiskey a night. A friend of his was working on getting his studio up and running again and asked Mark Ware if he would come onto the label and be the country musician for the label. This song was sent to him by a friend in Alabama. This song coincidentally ended up being the story of his life. 2nd Song: Shooting Whiskey Killing Time -   He was telling someone about his story…how he lost it all and went astray. When he was in that space there was always time for drinking whiskey and killing time. 3rd Song: I Can’t Touch You -   He was raising his son after a divorce and had to tell his girlfriend that her daughter was in an accident a didn’t survive. He realized that God had made him strong enough to handle that at the time. Her daughter was buried right next to his daughter and the girlfriend is now his wife.      **Mark has a new release coming out on July 19 and we will share it with you asap** Don’t miss Kimmer and Derreck’s poems in our newsletter this week - we shared one of them on the show and it was amazing! Every week at 1800 Central Time we share our guests' stories from tragedy to triumph. We share music and laughter along with tears and virtual hugs. When the show is over, we are friends to the end! There is nothing separating us from the mission we set out to conquer, in fact, the roots keep growing deeper and wider. Please give it a listen and be part of the solution with us!
