Description

Hi, I’m Thoraya. You may know me from YouTube or social media where I interact with and share stories of strangers. 95% of my daily interactions begin with an introduction, so if you don’t know me, bear with me while I piece together yet another one. I spend my life meeting strangers and engaging them in intimate conversations with me, and sometimes even with one another. In this new podcast, I share these strangers with you, an audience of other strangers, in hopes that one day we won’t feel so “strange” to one another anymore. So, nice to meet you. I’m Thoraya and welcome to “Hey, Stranger!"

I follow you on Youtube and you are amazing and so is your work. You are such an honest and caring person. Please keep up your great work even in these extra difficult circumstances. <3 To answer your question: I live in a small town in the Netherlands. A couple of years ago the center for asylum seekers on the outskirts of this town re-opened to house Syrian refugees. During this time I remember meeting a very kind gentleman. We ended up talking twice on difderent occasions. Amongst other things he told me his daughter lived in another refugee center somewhere else in the country. He couldn't wait to get together with her again. While speaking to this kind soul I realised that I am the lucky one. I felt and feel so blessed that I live here even with all its bull crap and problems. This man chose to remain kind even with all the traumatic situations he must have faced in his home country and on his way to a better life. Writing this I wonder how he and his daughter are doing now. I gue

I don't have access to an apple music to leave a review, but traffic is traffic! A stranger I still remember is a gentleman at my place of work who stopped me just to tell me what an amazing job I was doing. He had no idea what I was doing or who I was, he just decided to spread some kindness. Little did he know I was having a TERRIBLE mental health day and his comment got me through the rest of my shift
