Description

This is an AUDIO Podcast with an image to represent the content. Each show is one track and 1 hour in length. I present music from ~ 1965 to current time including Rock, Progressive, Psychedelic, Folk, Hard Rock, Country Rock and anything else I feel like playing. All categories are decided by committee (me). It will include short descriptions between tracks addressing artist, song title, album, origin and year. I promise you will hear artists that you’ve NEVER heard before. Do you have to know/recognize the music to enjoy it? GOD, I hope not. I will challenge you, but with the best of intentions. You can expect/hope for ~ 2 to 3 new shows/week. [Est. Oct. 2023]

Let's do this again. Good Stuff, just ask the purring cat! Those are Not earphones, they are Feline Skull-Phones.
Yes it is, it's a Best of 'Hey Ears Try This Out' all-time. So, ALL of these tunes have been featured before on previous shows. I selected them based on past listener responses and requests and what I felt stood out from the pack (~ 3000 songs).

How do I put a great set of songs together and call it a 'Mess'? There is only one way to find out: LISTEN
These are Box Set selections from my pictured box sets on the collage. This will be Part 1 of ? Many of the tunes here are only available on these box sets. Please enjoy these!
The sound of me 'caving in'. The hits are here, surprise, surprise. It's a great set of songs you will recognize.

Welcome to the 200th show! I bring another selection of "Psychedelic Garage". If you know more than 3 of the featured artists, you are doing very well.
Picking Through the 80’s

Picking Through the 80’s

Wading through the tough decade of music called the 80's.BTW, (circa 1972) that's guitarist and vocalist Dan Lomas!
There are many great picks on this conglomeration. Some you have heard before, others you will experience for the first time. Some UK bands, 1 Swedish singer/songwriter, some US bands and others are all included. That makes this is A MUST LISTEN! The acronym GONE has nothing to go with the demise of the artist. In most cases I'll let you know.
J Tull III 1973-1978

Jethro Tull...We start out with 1973's "Passion Play" with 2 selections. It was initially released as 2 side long tracks. It was later re-mastered with shorter tracks where many ran together. We tripped along to 1975's "Minstrel in the Gallery". Then comes the wonderful "Songs From the Wood" from 1977. To end are songs from 1978's "Heavy Horses".

Jethro Tull...this takes us into 1971 and through 1972. Featured releases are "Aqualung", "Thick as a Brick" and "Living in the Past". I try to avoid the hits, because you can hear those anywhere and to a certain extent they're overplayed. One or two hits may sneak in.
J Tull I 1968-1970

J Tull I 1968-1970

This is PURE Jethro Tull. No hits, just great songs. What separated Jethro Tull from other bands? A guy named Ian Anderson (he's Not Jethro Tull) that played a flute. He's also the singer and writer and plays acoustic guitar, keyboards and stands on one leg when playing the flute. "Showman", you ask? Yes! We start with a rudimentary release from 1968 "This Was" and go to "Stand Up" from 1969. The real jump to develop their sound is 1970's "Benefit". We end with a live Medley from the Isle of Wight from 1970.
There is not as big of a pool to select from vs. UK and Italy. Progressive Rock was not as big (and/or got a later start) as Europe. The featured bands are Kansas, Cathedral, Frank Zappa (yes!), Alice Cooper (yes again!) and Utopia.
Well, you guessed it, this is Yes from 1969 to 1983.

Those songs between 1967 and 1972 that made me stop what I was doing and LISTEN with my EARS!
Starting point if so inclined. Music from 1965 to present from my personal collection.
Jose laid them out and here they are. I must admit, it is quite a mess. There is a lot of variety and it has Jose's ear approval seal (arp arp).
I selected all of the Best tunes from the Sleep or Relax shows. A real treat for the relaxing individual. He's putting headphones on the gorgeous setting sun!

Most of what you hear here (try to make that work) is 'out of my wheelhouse'. I would wager to guess that many songs are unrecognizable. The pleasing nature of the songs and the innocence they projected oozes one's past life (you had to be there).

"This is another stellar Folk Show", said the creator. I pushed the boundaries a little bit. There is a hazy area around defining Folk, Americana, Country Rock and some Psych. I'm all about blending those as long as it hits my ear right. These are the tunes the committee decided to call 'Folk'.

Try and top this one. Renaissance and all that will be expected on a Progressive platform.
