Description

Hide Park is a political podcast aiming to break barriers as it brings diverse political opinions to a constructive discussion regarding pressing social, economic, and political issues. The podcast is in search of positive ideas and possibilities that have been hidden for a while now, hence its name “Hide Park”, in the dark abyss of the socioeconomic crisis Lebanon has been free-falling into. The format of this podcast is unique because it brings together two co-hosts who represent differing political views, with enthusiasm to approach controversial issues from an objective angle, contrary to the usual defensive political discourse which boils down to finger-pointing.In each podcast, a political or social figure will be interviewed to discuss the hot topics of the hour, their relevant portfolios, their take on different social and political issues, and clarifications on the performance of their respective political groups. The hope lies in finding common ground and pushing forward a series of potentially “achievable” legislations and reforms. The podcast and its topics of focus fall under the mandate of the podcast’s sponsor, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, a social democratic German political foundation, active in Lebanon since 1965, promoting democracy and social justice.
