On March 9, 2023, Shane Barton vanished from his home in Rochester, Washington. No phone. No wallet. No trace. Just... gone.

This season on Hide and Seek, we unravel the mystery of Shane's disappearance. We explore the moments leading up to that fateful day—was his vanishing an act of free will, a tragic accident, or the result of something far more sinister? The haunting questions leave us wondering: Did Shane walk away from his life, or does a far darker truth lie hidden beneath the surface?

hey guys....here's a tip from a non podcaster.....I think the weird music throughout the whole podcast is really odd and not needed!

Seriously, this story is such a fairy tale. And listening to some of these interviews is painful. Stupid music playing all the way through, some kid slamming on their toy piano in the background, I can't take it. At this point, I don't care. I can't spend another minute listening to this podcast. I'll just check for updates on the internet.

I'm really over this podcast. There is no forward movement. James, with his "bro" conversations, trying to sound like a street person, it's just everyone throwing around insults to everyone. Also, what's weird is how many episodes this season has had. Why?? At this point, I could care less.

Why James, why? We do not need a play by play after we heard the entire thing. Seriously.

Um, family can testify for family and give them an alibi. Plus, I have FB messages from 10 years ago. If those messages exist, they are still there. Note to James, Jesus, please stop playing the music when you're talking. Sometimes, it's louder than whoever is talking, and it is VERY distracting! #hideandseekpod #jamesbaysinger

Why does James keep saying GBR?? Is he talking about the GPR?? Or something else?

I know I'm late on this, and maybe I should just keep listening, but you need to tell the investigators about Ashley's failed polygraph test. She's backpedaling, and a seasoned detective would be able to crack her. With whatever it is she knows. Because we all know she knows something. @drmgodwin #hideandseekpodcast #TrueCrime #hideandseekpod #jamesbaysinger

Britney dated the same guy as her mom, so I don't think 'girl code' has anything to do with Ashley seeing Eric.

love you guys! You put your heart and soul in Brittany's case. James, your growth was exhilarating to hear. I do believe the fruits of your love and labor is not in vain. What was done in darkness will eventually come to light.

this episode was almost unlistenable. between the distracting background audio and the centering around the podcaster's experiences rather than on the victim and the facts of the investigation, it was one of the worst episodes this pod has produced.

I'm one of those who was in the group prior to season 3. I didn't break any rules. I've stuck up for the podcast and championed what y'all were doing. I was removed from the group after expressing concern about the focus shifting from Brit on episode 48. it was a valid concern and my removal without warning is proof that anyone who comments anything that's not 100% in support of everything is removed. its nothing but an echo chamber. it's not a place to honestly discuss things.

This is such a staged recording. No specific names are mentioned, the story is completely ridiculous and you can tell in his voice that he's lying. Plus the names....Ernie, really simple last name (but he doesn't remember it), Jake, Cody.... those names are not that common that they should know so many of them. The cartel, sex trafficking, they are just throwing pasta at the wall.

Oh. my. God. The repetitive, plinky-plunky music in the background was just absolutely unbearable. I had to stop listening about 3 minutes in.

'I remember the day like it was yesterday' followed immediately up with, 'I'm not sure, I can't quite remember'..... well, then you don't remember it like it was yesterday.
