Description
Hi, I’m EmRata, aka Emily Ratajkowski. Maybe you know me from my work as an actress or model, or maybe you’ve read my bestselling book, My Body. I’m interested in marrying everything high and low-brow by talking about pop culture and happenings that may seem frivolous in a way that raises big questions.
On this podcast, I’ll be talking about everything from politics, philosophy, and feminism to sex, TikTok, and relationships. Every Tuesday, I’ll host intimate conversations with special guests, including celebs, incredible authors, close friends, and people I admire. In the week’s second episode, I’ll talk about whatever’s happening in the world and what it’s making me think about, including anecdotes, personal opinions, and, ideally, some thought-provoking questions. Finally, you can subscribe to a third exclusive episode each week where you get to be part of the show. I’ll go through your comments and answer your DMs.
My hope is that this series will be a place where you can come to have fun and take part in thoughtful discourse.
High Low with EmRata is a Sony Music Entertainment and Bitch Era Media production.
Subscribe to ‘High Low: Talk Back’ for exclusive extra episodes every week. Plus, you’ll get all episodes of High Low ad-free.

Gwyneth Paltrow is as famous for her luxury lifestyle as she is for her movies. But when she collides with a man on a ski slope in Park City, Utah, she finds herself in a real-life high-end whodunnit, where fact is stranger than fiction.
Behind every infamous news story is a journalist trying to hold power to account. Join reporters Vanessa Grigoriadis and Gabriel Sherman as they take an in-depth look at the most explosive scandals of this century. From high-profile divorces to sex cults to the lies that started a war, they’ll guide you through the juiciest, most outrageous, celeb-filled stories of the last two decades, and give you a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to shine an unflattering light on the world’s most powerful people. It’s a pivotal time for workers and the labor movement. A few months into the WGA and SGA work stoppages that have put all of Hollywood on pause, we are taking a trip to the front lines. This week, I’m speaking to writer and comedian Josh Gondelman (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Last Week Tonight) about the cruelty of the powers-that-be in this David vs. Goliath battle, the war being waged in the media over the various proposals, and just a general vibe check of what the scene is like at different protest sites.

Narcissism — it’s all around us. Whether it’s at home, in the media, in the workplace, or in the mirror, we all have to come face to face with narcissists at some point. I speak to an expert to help define the meaning of therapy-speak phrases like “narcissism” and “gaslighting” and how we can navigate those relationships and power dynamics. Dr. Ramani is a licensed clinical psychologist, Professor Emerita of Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles, and the Founder and the host of Navigating Narcissism with Dr. Ramani.

There’s a lot to learn from polarizing pop star Taylor Swift. I speak to two Swifties who have infiltrated academia, teaching two very different college courses based around Swift — her catalog, her business savvy and what she represents.
Senior Rolling Stone writer Brittany Spanos, who says “Taylor Swift is a loaded phrase,” created and teaches Topics in Music: Taylor Swift at NYU’s Clive Davis School of Music at the Tisch School of the Arts. She speaks to what Taylor represents, her fandom, and how and why Taylor has been dismissed and discredited over the years.
Dr. Elly McCausland teaches Literature: Taylor’s Version, which draws parallels between Taylor’s lyrics and some of the literary greats. She speaks to the backlash she’s received after her course was announced.
