"Do You Care?" | High Pointe Church  |  Steven Hinkeldey July 13, 2025 High Pointe Church The Question and Context; Luke 10:38-42 If Mary sitting at Jesus’ feet is countercultural, then why was Martha the one who was distracted? Martha, Martha (v40) shows a care and empathy that Jesus has for Martha Jesus did care about the work that Martha was doing, but His response also shows His priorities. The one thing (v 42) ares the words of life that Jesus speaks. The Application; Colossians 3:17 Sitting at the feet of Jesus is one of the first parts of discipleship. We don’t stay at Jesus’ feet. We come to the feet of Jesus so that we can BE the hands and feet of Jesus. The Answer; Isaiah 55:8-9 It is good that God’s ways are not my ways, because my ways are selfish. if God did things my way, then there would be no hope for you and me. God’s way brings hope and salvation to a lost and hurting world. God’s version of different (Isaiah 55:6-7; Ezekiel 33:11), was done through a cross. Action Steps 1. Examine priorities 2. Accept the invitation to sit at Jesus’ feet. 3. Consider His way vs. your way. Are you trying to force God to accept your ways, or are you ready to trust Him in His way?
