Palmer and Petrana return during the HSM:TM:TS hiatus to discuss one of Palmer’s favorite DCOMs: Lemonade Mouth, which coincidentally also made her gay. We’re diving deep into this 2011 classic, which brought together stars like Bridget Mendler, Hayley Kiyoko, and Naomi Scott and had some of the best DCOM bops to ever hit the Billboard Charts.

Palmer and Petrana return with a special guest, video games and entertainment reporter Austen Goslin, to talk about Teen Beach Movie! During the HSMTMTS hiatus, we’re diving into the Gen Z backlog of Disney Channel Original Movies that fell a bit after our time. We’re asking the big questions after our first viewing: Is Teen Beach Movie an isekai anime? Where the hell is this movie set? While we’re on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The Hiatus, Palmer and Petrana convene for a Very Serious Discussion: what would a hypothetical season look like if East High put on Cats, the musical? In this episode of fully self-indulgent fanfiction, EJ has a sexuality crisis, Carlos actually takes the stage, and everyone is trying to get TikTok famous. Oh, and Big Red plays Skimbleshanks, The Railway Cat (a.k.a. The Cat Of The Railway Train).

Palmer and Petrana are back for a deluxe, one-hour episode all about the season finale, “Act Two.” In addition to waxing poetic about everything that went down in this episode, we talk ships, HSMTMTS’ GLAAD Media Awards nomination, and the set up for Season 2.

We’re back for the penultimate episode of Season 1 — it’s opening night and everyone is stressed, excited, and eager to get the show rolling. Palmer and Petrana break down the highs and lows of the first act and take a look at showrunner Tim Federle’s pitch bible (https://twitter.com/TimFederle/status/1213605071272833026).

Palmer and Petrana reconvene during the holiday season to talk about “The Tech Rehearsal,” a Miss Jenn-focused episode that’s truly the gift that keeps on giving. While we miss Gina (and Mr. Mazzara), there’s a whole lot of Rini tension going on along with some heart to hearts between EJ and Carlos. The highlight, though, is definitely Lucas Grabeel’s cameo in "Role of a Lifetime," a song that finally allowed Kate Reinders to flex her Broadway chops. Also, we mull over what Ricky’s nickname would have been if it wasn’t Ricky. Rich? Rick? Chard?

It's THANKSGIVING, Ashlyn is a HIGH PRIESTESS, and we have FEELINGS about everything that went down in episode 7. Not only do we gush about Big Red being an amazing friend (and an amazing flirt), but Petrana explains to Palmer what FEMA is and why working there would mean that Gina and her mom would have to move around so much. Also, finally, some love for Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazzara, and some very brief thoughts about the HSM:TM:TS special now available on Disney+.

Palmer and Petrana return to discuss episode 6, which finally puts the show itself in jeopardy. We’ve got some thoughts about popular ships (Rina rights???), lots of Big Red love (what else is new), and a shifting perspective as we start to feel a bit more sympathetic towards Miss Jenn (even if the thing with Ricky’s dad is a little oof, on both ends). Also, Tim Federle gave us a definitive answer about Seb’s cow from the Homecoming episode.

It’s finally time for the Homecoming dance, but the drama we hoped for last episode is actually just extremely heartwarming. Palmer and Petrana gush over Carlos, our wonderful son who deserves the world and more, his budding relationship with Seb, and the surprise chemistry between Ricky and Gina. We’ve also got some feelings about Miss Jenn, who is proving to become more sympathetic as time goes on. Also, is Seb’s cow dead or just missing?

Palmer and Petrana discuss Episode 4 of HSMTMTS, "Blocking." This is the most emotional episode we've seen yet as Ricky learns what's really going on with his parents and Nini holds EJ accountable for his actions in the previous episode. Also, we cannot WAIT for next episode's homecoming dance.

Petrana and Palmer discuss Episode 3: "The Wonderstudies," digging into EJ's schemes, cell phone drama, the Carlos Protection Squad, and the weird STEM vs. Arts dichotomy going on at East High. Also, we want to become a part of HSM:TM:TS stan Twitter and if we gotta make a Carrd to do it, then we're gonna make a Carrd!

Palmer and Petrana are back discussing the second episode of the series, "The Read-Through." We've got so much love to give to this episode's original song, "Wondering," some feelings about all of the scheming happening on the sidelines, and a strong desire to see these kids happy and fulfilled.
