The fact that he lost weight tells me that he was actually out in the woods by himself. My guess is he got struck by lightning and they thought they saw some aliens so they ran off and when they came back he had woken up was dizzy from the shit that happened to him and delirious

All he had was Hearsay, at best. No first hand knowledge or evidence. Nothing. so all his claims can't be fully backed. So way harder for one to just believe it without question.
Sad that Payne says it's hard to debunk when it's actually been completely debunked. Betty was a ufo nut beforehand Barney didn't remember anything post looking through the binoculars. It was all fabricated through hypnosis sessions. Listen to Strange Arrivals, a much more thorough examination of the incident.

I'm amazed how many people believed the spy balloon story... the chinese release weather balloons regularly and this balloon was tracked by the US military from its launch from hainan islan. it traveled north and found itself in a hurricane that blew it over the pacific and across the entire north American continent.... Americans are amazingly naive and gullible ... fear not we Europeans r as gullible and we r willing followers as the ukraine war shows. the three balloons shot down costing 10s of millions of taxpayers $$$ originated from a teenagers balloon hobby club.... let's blame it on the chinese and start another war.... I think Travis Walton's story is completely true. I think his crew stumbled across a landed ship, he then runs under it and is almost killed. The aliens were like "that stupid monkey just ran under the thruster captain!" so they took him aboard and healed the damage, then dropped him off.
