Highway Feet with Larry Fleet

After taking a quick detour through the topics of dietary fiber, tour catering mishaps, ice cream, and southern grannies, Larry opens up about his journey in faith. The guys discuss their spiritual successes and failures, their continuing mission to find God in their work, and Larry describes the real-life events that led him to write “Where I Find God”.

Larry describes how an invitation to play a round of golf with PGA Tour legend John Daly caused him to become an unlikely honorary member of a high brow country club. The guys talk about golf swings, life goals, and marriage... and even attempt to give Zander (aka Catfish) the chance to defend himself and reclaim his image.

Larry and Crazy Legs explain why the Canadian government frowned upon their past lives, describe a chilling moment they survived in Mississippi, and introduce the Fleet family’s new puppy named Cheese Dip. Les dives into the process of authoring his book “Tracking Our Inner Animal”, and describes the philosophy that pushed him to put these ideas to paper. 

You can't make this stuff up... Despite missing Mr. Les Hall's intellect and insight for an episode, Larry and Crazy Legs swap stories about eating farm raised rats during Civil War reenactments, a Bigfoot sighting that turned out to be less than paranormal, and touching grass to try and connect with the earth and "come to zero". Larry later shares some exciting and spoiler-filled updates on the 2025 tour schedule. To close it all out, the guys channel their inner "angry old men shouting at clouds" before ultimately falling into a more level-headed discussion about where to find authenticity in modern music, and how social media has changed the game. 

Larry and the guys tackle some of the universe's most persistent and enduring questions such as "can you ride a zebra", "do pyrotechnics and bicycles make a good combination", and "is NY or Chicago pizza better?" Finally, they offer a little music industry behind-the-scenes and discuss what it's like hearing your song in a movie or a TV show, as well as what sort of food experiences they get to have (or alternatively often miss out on) while traveling across the country. 

In a deeper and more personal episode, Larry opens up about the journey in faith and fatherhood that led him to give up drinking and focus on family. The guys dive into some of the mistakes and missteps they learned from in their younger years, then offer some advice to up-and-coming musicians. Not able to take themselves too seriously, this all naturally takes place after a discussion about stretchy pants, Crazy Leg's florescent skin tone (caused by his Viking heritage), and a city boy helping Les out of a tight situation... 

The guys discuss last weekend on the west coast, swimming in a glacial lake, and a terrifying bus fire incident. Les and Larry reminisce about their brief stint as chicken farmers, Crazy Legs shares a story about his pet pig Sarge (rest in peace), and the guys answer a few listener questions!
