1987, when petrol had gone DOWN in price since last year at £1.70 per gallon, a 70cl bottle of white wine was £1.29, and a mobile phone was (at today's prices) £4,700!

Also the Liverpool-based soap opera Brookside is shown. Unemployment remains above 3,000,000 people – almost 14% of the workforce.
