In this episode of God Is at Work, Ella Switzer from Tearfund Ireland joins us to explore what it means to see our work as part of God’s wider work of restoration. Looking at creation, stewardship, climate justice and the impact of climate change on communities living in poverty, Ella reminds us that we are not owners of creation but stewards — invited to work with God for the flourishing of his world and our neighbours. Drawing on Genesis, Colossians and stories from Tearfund’s work around the world, we consider what it means to live and work as people who recognise that God is at work — and invite us to join him.

What difference does Jesus make to the way we work?In this third week of God at Work, Dilys explores how Jesus redeems our work and gives even our ordinary, everyday tasks eternal significance. Because of Christ, we can work with significance, for God’s glory, and from a place of rest and acceptance.Our work no longer has to be the source of our identity or worth. Instead, our daily work becomes a response to God’s work in us — an opportunity to love God, serve others, and partner with him in the renewal of all things.

Work is a gift from God, but it is also broken. In this sermon, Scott explores how work can both frustrate and seduce us, drawing from Genesis 1–3 to uncover the tension between finding purpose in our work and allowing it to define us. Pressures, frustrations and successes of work can also affect our relationships, identity and spiritual well-being. How do we receive work as a gift without asking it to save us? And what happens when a good thing becomes a god? Through practical examples and biblical teaching, he encourages us to recognise our limitations, hold our achievements lightly and find our worth in God rather than in what we accomplish.

Beginning our new series: God is at Work, Colin starts us off with a sermon on how work isn't a consequence of the Fall; it is part of God's good creation. God is the first worker of the bible in His creation and He invites us to partner with Him in bringing order, beauty and benefit to the world.Colin broadens the definition of “work” beyond paid employment as it includes parenting, study, caring, home, retirement and many more.We titled the series "God is at work" to illustrate how God is with us while we work, He is at our places of work and He is at work within us while we work.
