The start of my positional rankings breaking down the top 10 Centres in the NBA.  Jokic or Embiid for #1? Bill Simmons AKA the pod farther - has been one of the defining faces of NBA media basketball for two decades - His Book of Basketball released in 2009 is a most read for any hoops fan. And before the ringer empire took over the podcast world - Simmons was prolific and brilliant writer -  mainly at his old stomping ground - GrantLand. And why? on today’s show -  I’ll be ranking  the top 10 players in the NBA who I think could get closest to scoring 81 points in a game if the circumstances were right. Inspired by Shaquille O’Neal, who earlier this season listed his top five.Why 81?On January 22, 2006, A 27-year-old Kobe Bryant put together one of the greatest individual performance seen on a basketball court. He scored 81 points, including 55 in the second half, in a 122-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Kobe became just the second player to ever break the 80-point threshold, joining the legendary Wilt Chamberlain to form an elite group of two.It’s possible that it may never be reached again. Put in this modern era of space, pace, 3-point shooting and players taking the regular season off defensively - the environment is set for history to be re-made. This not a Who’s the better player ranking - far from it - were looking at these guys purely as scorers. I rank the top 10 international players in the NBA today. NBA rosters feature 107 international players from 41 countries - On opening day of the 1991–92 season, NBArosters included 23 international players from 18 countries. With that in mind let’s rank the top 10 international players in the league today.
