This weekend we're back in our series, the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Jordan Caro shared from Mark 16:1-13 - the story of the resurrection and Jesus appearing to His followers. What do we do when God’s good news seems too good to be true? That’s what we explore and dive deep into in this sermon. Check it out to learn more!
As we close out our series Love Language: What God Says About Relationships, Pastor Tom McCormick teaches from 1 John 4:10,19. In this sermon, we focused on the relationship between parents and children and how God calls both to love each other biblically. Parents are to love their children as God loves them—sacrificially and unconditionally. Children are to love their parents by honoring, obeying, and listening to their wisdom. As Proverbs 22:6 reminds us: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” How does God call parents to raise their children? Check out this sermon to find out!
In week 6 of our series, Love Language: What God Says About Relationship, we were honored to hear from Pastor Patrick Detkin, our Lead Pastor of Care and Community. He preached from John 13:34–35. The church is not an event you attend, it’s a family to which you belong. And when you belong to a family, it’s not just about you; it’s about others. God calls us to love one another, and this sermon explores what it means to belong to His family and how we can love His family. Check out the sermon to learn more!
In Week 5 of Love Language: What God Says About Relationships, Pastor Scott Worthington teaches from 1 Corinthians 7:6–8. Singleness has become a norm in America, lasting longer than ever before—and this message explores what God’s Word says about being single. We learn that singleness is a gift—the one season of life where you can give undivided attention to Jesus and His mission. We also discuss dating. While the Bible doesn’t provide a step-by-step dating manual, it does offer clear wisdom about relationships, character, and purity. Check out this sermon to learn more!
In Week 4 of our series Love Language: What God Says About Relationships, Pastor Scott Worthington shares God’s truth about marriage and sex. This is Part 2 of Love and Marriage, where we unpack God’s design for sex as a gift within marriage—meant to bring intimacy and oneness between a husband and wife. We also look at how a healthy marriage is built with intention and share practical ways you and your spouse can cultivate that kind of marriage together. Check out this sermon to learn more!
In Week 3 of our series Love Language: What God Says About Relationships, Pastor Scott Worthington shared what God says about Marriage and sex. The world says, “Marriage is a temporary vehicle for my personal happiness.” But God’s word says, “Marriage is a convenient promise for our mutual sanctification. What is God’s design for marriage and how can a husband and wife truly show love to one another? Check out this sermon to learn more!
In Week 2 of our series Love Language: What God Says About Relationships, Pastor Scott Worthington shared from Luke 10:25-37—the story of the Good Samaritan. God commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves. From this story, we learned that before we can love our neighbor like the Good Samaritan did, we must first see that Jesus is the true Good Samaritan—and we are the wounded man who was cared for. We also discovered who our neighbor truly is and how we can love them. Check out this sermon to learn more!
We kicked off a new teaching series, Love Language: What God Says About Relationships. In Week 1, Pastor Scott Worthington shared from Matthew 22:34–40. The most critical relationship in your life—other than your relationship with Jesus—is the one you have with yourself. This matters because if you’re not in a healthy relationship with yourself, it’s unlikely you’ll be in a healthy relationship with anyone else. And God’s primary way of expanding His kingdom is through relationships. So, what does God’s Word say about how to truly have a healthy you? Check out this sermon to learn more!
This weekend, Pastor Jordan Caro—our Connection Pastor—preached for the first time during our gatherings, sharing from Mark 15:42-47, the moment Jesus was buried. If Jesus could die and still not be defeated, then death is no longer the end—it becomes a doorway. That’s what we explore in this sermon. Check it out to learn more!
This weekend, we were honored to welcome back Pastor Jeff Phillips, our Congregation Pastor of Hope Church Henderson. He preached from Mark 15:33-41, the death of Jesus. We reflected on what the death of Jesus reveals and the gifts His sacrifice gives us. Jesus died to pay the penalty of our sin so that we wouldn’t have to. He was forsaken so that we could be forgiven, punished so that we could be pardoned—and He took our righteousness and gave us His righteousness. Oh what a Savior! Check out this sermon to learn more.
In this sermon, Pastor Trenton Dorner preaches from Mark 15:21–32, where Jesus was crucified. From this story, we learn that following Jesus isn’t about watching from a safe distance. It means getting a little bloody ourselves—carrying our own cross as we walk behind Him. Following Jesus may be painful, but He’s worth it. Check out this sermon to learn more.
In this sermon, Pastor Ricky Harris preaches from Mark 15:16–20, where Jesus is mocked. We sat with the weight of Jesus’ suffering—every strike, every insult, every wound He took willingly. But we didn’t stop there. We also looked at His victory. Jesus endured it all so we could be free, and because of His triumph over sin and death, we now have salvation! Listen to the sermon to learn more.
In this sermon, Pastor Scott Worthington preaches from Mark 15:1–15, where Jesus is delivered to Pilate, Barabbas is released, and Jesus is handed over to be crucified.   Barabbas was a wicked, guilty, and condemned man—yet the crowd chose to set him free and crucify Jesus, the innocent and righteous one, in his place. As followers of Jesus, we must recognize that Barabbas is a reflection of us. We were the guilty ones, and Jesus, the righteous one, became our substitute. That’s the good news of the gospel. May we take the time to sit and reflect upon what Jesus has done for us.   Watch this sermon to learn more!
In this sermon, Pastor Trenton Dorner preaches from Matthew 7:7–11. At Hope Church, we believe that we don’t pray before we work, prayer is the work, and then God works. In Week 1 of Marked by Prayer, we learned that prayer is our part. This week, we explored several ways God works in response to our prayers. We also tackled questions like: • Why haven’t I received what I’ve been praying for? • Why doesn’t God always respond quickly? • Do I even need to pray if God already knows what I need? Check out this sermon to learn more!
We kicked off a brand new two-week sermon series called, Marked by Prayer. In this sermon, Pastor Scott Worthington preached from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. At Hope, we believe that we don’t pray before we work - prayer is the work, then God works. Prayer is our part and we were taught what prayer is and given a vision for what happens when we engage in the work of prayer. Check out this sermon to learn more!
In this sermon, Pastor Scott Worthington preaches from Mark 14:66–72, where Peter denies Jesus. The Jesus that Peter was experiencing was different than the Jesus that Peter wanted, and that led him to deny knowing Him. Unfortunately, we see this still happening today where many follow a version of Jesus they hope will bring success or fulfill their dreams, but when He doesn’t, they, like Peter, may say, “I don’t know that man.” Peter’s story invites us to ask: Am I following Jesus for who He truly is, or for who I want Him to be? Watch the full sermon to dive deeper.
This weekend, we were honored to have Pastor Eric Shelner, our Congregation Pastor of Hope Church Boulder City, with us. He preached from Mark 14:53–65, where Jesus stands before the council. As we studied the scriptures, we learned that even when life doesn’t go the way we hoped, God’s plan for our lives is still perfect. If you’re in a hard season, this message is for you - give it a listen.
In this sermon, Pastor Scott Worthington preached from Mark 14:43-52 - when Jesus was arrested. On the night of Jesus’ arrest, we see these four moments happening: (1) Judas betrays Jesus, (2) Peter strikes the servant of the high priest, (3) Jesus being arrested, and (4) the disciples fleeing. We take a look at each moment and receive applications we can begin wrestling with in our walk with God. Check out this sermon to learn more!
In this sermon, Pastor Trenton Dorner preached from Mark 14:32-42 - the story of Jesus praying in Gethsemane. In the garden, Jesus was in a place of crushing as He faced the decision to either remain obedient to the Father’s will or do what was comfortable. As Christians, we will have our own ‘garden moments’ and if we’re honest, obedience to God doesn’t feel peaceful or rewarding, but painful. So, what do we do when the weight of obedience feels heavy? Check out this sermon to learn more!
We are back in our Gospel of Mark sermon series, and in this sermon, Pastor Tom McCormick preached from Mark 14:26-31. As humans, we have the capacity to sin and until Jesus returns, in our flesh, we will struggle with sin. The good news is, Jesus’ grace, mercy, and forgiveness is greater than the sum of all our prideful sin! Check out this sermon to learn more.
