Jesus said, “Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and come forth.” To those that have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection, He comes again as King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Before that, church and state will unite in an attempt to bring peace to the world. We learn more about this in our ongoing study, Unsealing Daniel's Mysteries.

Why study this Old Testament Book of Daniel? Because it helps us to understand prophecy, and it builds confidence in the word of God. HIs people are still strong in persecution and are nourished. The truth of God is not wiped out, no matter our circumstances. Whether a lion’s den, or everyday life, we are not alone in our struggles. This is what we learn today in the Book of Daniel, chapter 11.

In this ongoing study in the Book of Daniel, Pastor Mark reminds us that this book focuses on two different things – stories and prophecies. One of the greatest stories of our faith is when God saved Daniel in the lion’s den. The Pastor says this is a perfect metaphor as we too battle with lions, the ones that stalk us every day, but, for the power of God.

Bible prophecy does not guess. We learned this in yesterday’s lesson. The incredibly accurate prophecies from the Book of Daniel cannot be denied. But still, some will say this is just an ancient tale. We can identify with Daniel in this way, sometimes our prayers are not answered, and Daniel experienced the same. There is much about prayer in the bible, but this chapter goes deeper, explaining what is going on with our prayers.

What is the cleansing of the sanctuary? Daniel, in the first 10 verses, is praying for understanding, wisdom, and discernment. The angel Gabriel comes back to Daniel to explain the vision, in particular, the 2300 days, taking into account that one prophetic day equals one literal year. Pastor Mark says this particular prophecy has had one of the biggest impacts on people’s faith, describing the exact time of Christ’s crucifixion.

We learned God’s kingdom triumphs over evil in chapter 7, today it’s all about bible fulfillment. The focus now is not on Babylon, because it’s passing away. But the cleansing of the sanctuary, and the prophecy of the medieval church, is where we're heading. In this book we find symbolic language and about the mystery of the 2300 days.

The first six chapters in the Book of Daniel focus on stories, the last six focus on prophecies. Today, Pastor Mark begins the prophecy portion. In each chapter we see an unfolding of a different aspect of prophecy. For example, what does the Book of Daniel say about the Sabbath? We learn as we listen to part 7 of Unsealing Daniel’s Mysteries.

As we move into Chapter 4 of the Book of Daniel, a recap – Chapter 1 tells us of the God who turns defeat into victory. Chapter 2 speaks of a God who reveals the future. Chapter 3 reminds us we serve a God who delivers, he leaps in the flames with us, and that He is near. Today, we learn that God is ruler over all. What makes this chapter unique is that it’s the only one not written by Daniel, rather by King Nebuchadnezzar.

The power of choice is hardwired into our brain by our Creator. Today, Pastor Mark examines the many times throughout the bible where people had to make important choices, and the consequences of those choices. Poor decisions lead to heartbreaking results, but good choices lead to positive results. The history of Egypt was changed because Joseph chose the moral high road, and God honored him.

We’re reminded through God’s word that there is, ‘no such thing as neutrality.’ Jesus longs for us to be totally committed to Him. He longs to fill you with His Grace, with His Holy Spirit, and to be a powerful witness for Him. Would you like to say ‘Jesus, I am yours, totally, completely, absolutely yours?’ Though a battle wages here on earth, the battle for our minds, our hearts, our souls, our faith grows as we accept Christ’s victory as our own.

How can we apply what Jesus did for us over 2000 years ago to our lives today? If you feel as though your guilt is crushing you, this is a very timely message. Jesus, our Savior who took it all to the cross for us, can turn defeat to triumph and take our shattered lives and put our pieces back together again. The cross says something about forgiveness, failure, condemnation, because the cross of Jesus can turn every setback into victory. Today, the meaning of the cross.
