We're back! Join us here, in deepest November, to talk about all the important things: 70s coming of age dramas, cave gremlins, train derailments, bone temples, not knowing the difference between The Shining and Psycho, and what's so scary about spin the bottle. Then, we're getting weird with 2018's In Fabric! Let's take a trip to the very culty store to try on a cursed dress or two, tell people about our fucked up dreams, meet a witch(?), and start a riot(!).
Episode 274: Phantoms

Episode 274: Phantoms

2025-11-0702:12:05

We chat about mummies and robots and wreathes of human hair before we take a trip to Colorado for 1998's Phantoms! Oh Phantoms, a gentleman's 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. Don't let that stop you! Join us for a lively discussion of a fucked up town, stupidly young Ben Affleck, oh, and the Ancient Enemy.
It's a bit of a light episode, because we were traveling, but we still have haunted houses, imaginary friends, and the brand new Frankenstein movie! Then we're discussing Dangerous Animals, so hop on an experience boat with us as we discuss animal speeches, high tension, and bread rolls.

Spooky season is here for real! We discuss some more Universal monsters, some suspiciously familiar doors, some extra hikers, and an Urban Legends sequel before we dig into 2001's The Others! Make sure all the doors are closed with us as we discuss squabbling British children, mysterious trios of servants, and one mom's quest to deny everything.
We're back from Halloween Horror Nights and we have thoughts about zones and food and houses! We're also discussing Dracula and football, if you can even believe it. Then we cast back to earlier in the year to discuss Hell of a Summer! Return once more to a beloved summer camp with us as we discuss red herring names, off-screen murders, Spider-Man 2, and a secret freak.
Episode 270: Urban Legend

Episode 270: Urban Legend

2025-09-1202:05:45

We're taking it a little easy this episode: a little bit of Phantom, a smidge of an on purpose bad movie, and then a dumbass movie as the main topic, Urban Legend! Pick a northeastern university of your choice as we discuss loud goth fucking, jam-packed folklore classes, and the endless menace of hooded coats.
Episode 269: Borderline

(If you don't like spoilers for Weapons, skip to around an hour and ten minute, once I start talking about it.) Then we go to the theater for Together! Drink some cursed water with us as we discuss all the dog-staring, hair-choking, mildew-knowing, dick-sticking fun!
Episode 267: Presence

Kelly has some short story thoughts, while Rose has brought a cornucopia of movies, including: The Ruins follow up, house hiding, evil texts, scary clowns, and a haunted piano. Then! We travel back to earlier this year to take in Presence! Be a first person ghost with us as we discuss window lurking, sibling drugging, and a Family With Problems.
Episode 266: The Ruins

Episode 266: The Ruins

2025-07-1801:48:45

We have rats and vamps and fucked up newspapers, and then we have plants! We're discussing 2008's The Ruins, so take an ill-advised excursion with us as we talk about the dangers of almost being a med student, pyramids you have to stay on, and just the evilest plants.
We let Sinister teach us what animals have feet, let Last Gasp remind us of bad X-Files, and let the Watchers watch. Then! We close out the grand Jaws saga with Jaws: The Revenge. Which means - Merry Christmas! Blow a bunch of grant money with us as we discuss very ill sharks, being Shark Psychic, and Hoagie!
Episode 264: The Ritual

Episode 264: The Ritual

2025-06-2002:30:50

We're visiting a fake key and running from puppet wolves before we are rushing to see a tiny movie in theaters, The Ritual! Don't you DARE hold that camera steady as we discuss 1920s Iowa, a hot ass priest who will not phone it in, and, uh, Shakespeare.

Episode 262: Y2K

Episode 262: Y2K

2025-05-2302:42:33

In the beginning of this podcast, we wonder: must a movie be good? Is it not enough to see a slutty Val Kilmer? Or for characters to have absolutely wild mommy issues? Then we discuss 2024's Y2K and decide yes, sometimes movies have to be good. Stomp a little robot with us as we discuss anti-nostalgia, incredibly quick murder, and foolish look for things like story structure and also jokes.

Episode 261: 13 Ghosts

Episode 260: Sinners

Episode 260: Sinners

2025-04-2503:13:16

It's been a bit since we had such a long episode, but we have a lot of tv and a number of movies to discuss before we dig into brand new movie Sinners! Open a slightly ill-thought out juke joint with us as we discuss rad music, vampire synchronicity, and who sticks around for post credits sequences.
Do you like... firestarters? Do you like "mysterious" juices? Do you like when pranks are prevalent? Then boy have we got you covered! Plus: we begin our coverage of Yellowjackets season 3 and continue our coverage of just how gay Big Wolf on Campus was! All this, plus: another trip to the theater! We're talking The Woman in the Yard and we cover all the aspects - women, yards, the opposite of yards (inside), the opposite of the opposite (mirrors?) and so much more. There's interesting things in here, we think! We do discuss suicide in this episode, as it ends up being a major component of the film. Take care of yourselves, and only listen if you feel up to it.
Mix werewolves and Star Wars, hop in a non-supernatural chat room, meet a haunted doll IRL - these are just some of your options this time on Horror and a Half! Then we delve back into last year for a divided discussion of Strange Darling. One of us is hung up on metafictional conceits, one of us is supporting women's wrongs, but there's one thing we can agree on: the film is shot on 35 mm film.
Episode 257: The Monkey

Episode 257: The Monkey

2025-03-1402:29:52

It's the end of the month! That isn't really germane to anything, but it is true. Besides, we're talking more things that came out in this month: Valentine's slashers and continuing ghost shenanigans, and then we leap back in time to 1976's Burnt Offerings! Rent a cheap summer home with us as we discuss secret night swims, houses with terrible vibes, very professional actors, and a frankly delightful evil chauffer.
