Welcome to the How to Hunt Turkeys Podcast. The goal of the H2HT podcast is to make you a better turkey hunter. If it’s your first year in the spring woods or you’ve been hunting turkeys for a few seasons, this podcast will help you become a better turkey hunter. Not only will we learn from the wisdom only gained in the woods but we will review years of research done by wildlife biologist to help us understand the mind of a Wild Turkey. We will learn the language of the Turkey from Grand Champion callers from all corners of the country, the calls and calling styles are as diverse as the forests we hunt. The reverence and mystique that surrounds Turkey hunting is complex, the guests of this show will unpack the emotions surrounding Turkey hunting. Today on the how to hunt turkey podcast I recap my morning hunt and talk about why it is a good idea to hunt with your friends. I make the argument that it is worth the loss of sleep, the efforts to make new friends and the sacrifice of not always being the man on the trigger. Some notable pros of hunting with your friends are that it makes you a better Hunter. It helps you learn how to hide better. It helps you understand what you need to work on. I also talk about how it's easier to take the low points of turkey hunting and it makes the high points much better. Not to mention it's easier to see with two sets of eyes and to hear with two sets of ears and we all know the old quote. Two heads are better than one!

Knowing what your spot has to offer the turkeys and what it doesn't have to offer will help inform your decision. 3. Knowing how to move. If you decide to move spots it's helpful to know the right way to get from point a to point b without spooking turkeys. 4. Know what spots are good in the morning and what spots are good in the afternoon. When you know what time a spot is best it will help you decide when to be there.5. Know yourself. Knowing your own tendencies and hunting style will help you determine the best way to hunt for your enjoyment and for your best chance at a gobbler.6. Know the sign. Understanding and interpreting turkey sign will help you know how long to give a spot or wether to set up at all.
