Tyler Richardson talks about the danger of "taking the bait" from people and situations.
Every second of every day... has a reason to chill and do something else... but we can't bow to the moment.
It's not just about taking the bait to freak out... it's also about not taking the bait to settle.
We can make up your mind to be kind, humble, etc., because we made up our mind to do it... otherwise we’ll always be a mirror of our environment(s).
Mind your business and be about your business... and you'll be able to ignore the bait... instead of just not taking it.
The choice is ours.

Tyler Richardson talks about how there's a difference between "resting" and being lazy. OR another way to put it... "Am I satisfied or am I settling?"
Do I have to put a lot of effort into being/staying motivated? Or do I have to manage the core of my motivation?
Do I lean towards what works or what is possible?
When the world feels out of control... we tend to make the world around us settle in to what can “by us some time”... and then when we get our feet back on stable ground... we’ll put in more effort. But that often doesn’t work out the way we’d assume/hope.
What’s the compass that’s leading us?
Depending on the answer... we can be sure that's where we’re headed.

Tyler Richardson talks about how sometimes it's easier to give blame, than take blame.
You can take responsibility, without being a martyr.
Leaders want leaders that defend... instead of leaders that deflect.

Tyler Richardson presents an idea of what actually separates compliments from insults and why it might not be what's obvious.
Preferences are our filters for how we see the world.
If we're not careful, those filters will become barriers that keep us from people and vice versa.

Tyler Richardson addresses how sometimes what separates us from where we're frustrated... to where we could be getting momentum... is a consistent/simple reminder that there's "better" worth getting to.
It's far too easy to get lazy when you can't remember what you're supposed to e actively pursuing.
We have the ability to bridge the divide in our lives.

Have you experienced "passive aggressiveness"?
You’re frustrated enough to be annoyed but not mad enough to speak.
There’s nothing too passive about it or “subtle”.
You can communicate without negative confrontation... and you can be honest without breaking up unity.

There is a pivotal difference between boundaries and walls.
A boundary is a parameter.
A wall is an obstacle.
A wall is created where a boundary was not stewarded.
Walls may be easier/efficient… but that doesn’t make them healthy/fruitful.

Tyler Richardson breaks down the difference in "settling" and "pushing forward". What separates the two? Anger.
We all have a capacity to be capable of more.
Being grateful... and being focused... don't have to be mutually exclusive.
When it comes to where we could be and where we are... we have a choice on how angry we have to be about it. Then act accordingly.

Tyler Richardson discusses how easy it is to let other people's "craziness"... make us crazy.
We can't become rude/backbiting, just because someone is making a bad decision.
When you talk about crazy people/organizations... you expand the influence of their voice... instead of letting yours be heard.
When we get hurt... we can't allow that hurt to become a filter that we then communicate/decipher/interact through.
People's behavior/personalities can become a crutch for us to make excuses for why it's okay to pick them apart, but we can't give in!

Tyler Richardson discusses how often we confuse what we'd like to do for work... with what what we'd like to work on.
Just because you like worship doesn’t mean you need to be a worship leader.
Just because you spend hours on Instagram... doesn’t mean you need to be a social media manager.
Pay attention to what moves you and what makes you think.
Do you just think “this makes me angry” or do you also think “why don’t they try this?”

- "Surgery" is sometimes necessary, but also can be scary because it puts our lives in someone else's hands.

Tyler Richardson is back to discuss how quitting looks like a sudden event... but it’s flirted with inch by inch. Sometimes it even takes the person who quits by surprise (emotionally).
• There are 3 steps to help us avoid the cliff.
• The steps toward the cliff aren’t so much about the possibilities of what it would be like to fall off... BUT what the options are on the other side of the cliff... that I can't see where I’m currently at.
• It’s always more fun to jump... than be pushed.
• Make decisions instead of being manipulated... the people you lead will be glad you learned the difference.

Tyler Richardson discusses how we can easily work too hard performing tasks that we're smarter than. We can spend a lot of time sharpening the person we’re supposed to be... or appearing to be the person that’s “celebrated”, but making a plan to plan can help us avoid that trap.
• If it doesn’t naturally matter to you... ask if it’s supposed to. If not... then be okay with that... if it’s really needed... then God can open your eyes to the one who is naturally fit to help operate it.
• Rest isn’t waste... but being lazy is.
• As long as there’s a frustration... there’s still an opportunity to find a solution.

Tyler Richardson breaks down the differences between being tough and being rude. The difference is a purpose. If you’re being tough it’s because you have a purpose... if you’re being rude... it’s because you have a problem.
When there’s not a purpose... you’re causing a chain reaction of harm... when there is a purpose... you’re causing a chain reaction of healing.
Better leaders have the patience to examine... to listen to those that are also examining... to think on what could be real/imagined... AND needed/changed.

Make plans for where you wanna go... not where you feel like you’ll always be.
