Kidd Format: Unabridged Length: 19 hrs and 36 mins Language: English Release date: 11-12-14 Publisher: Wellspring Foundation Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Bibles Summary: About the author: Mary Baker Glover (later Mary Baker Eddy) challenged long-standing religious doctrines in an age long before women even had the right to vote. She certainly did not claim ownership of these ideas, but rather accepted them as divine revelation her only source, the Bible, outside the constraints of 1900 years of theological interpretation. Against immense odds, this lone woman, with no financial backing, and no church to support her, managed to get this book, Science and Health, published in 1875. Years later, after she had established her own world-wide church, and taught and published extensively, Mrs. Eddy made the statement: Whatever is said and written correctly on this Science originates from the Principle and practice laid down in Science and Health, a work which I published in 1875. This was the first book, recorded in history, which elucidates a pathological Science purely mental. It is fascinating to listen to this book, knowing that, by her own admission, when Mrs. Glover wrote the book, she described her role as a scribe under orders. About the narrator: Andrew W. Kidd was raised in a strong Christian home, his father an Anglican minister. He was dissatisfied, however, with what he had been taught. When he found the book, Science and Health, he realized at once that this was the truth for which hed been seeking. After many years studying and practicing Christian Science as a member of an independent church, he recorded the complete published writings of Mary Baker Eddy, including this first edition of Science and Health, which has never been done before. From his reading, it is clear he has a deep appreciation for the revelation Mary Baker Eddy gave to the world. Contact: info@hotaudiobook.com

Working together, Hezekiah and Isaiah implore the Lord to save Jerusalem and Judah. And he does. God vows that [Sennarcherib] will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here (2 Kings 19: 32). That night the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morningthere were all the dead bodies! So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh [capital of the Assyrian Empire] and stayed there (2 Kings 19: 35-36). With its defeat at Jerusalem in 701 B.C. Assyria weakens; to its south, Babylon (southern Iraq of today) rises. In 625 B.C. the Babylonians assert their independence from Assyria, attacking and destroying its capital, Nineveh, in 612 B.C. (the subject of the prophet Nahum). Nebuchadnezzar, Crown Prince of Babylon defeats Necho II king of Egypt in 605 B.C. at the Battle of Carchemish. Then he attacks Jerusalem. The Jews surrender in 605 B.C., becoming a vassal state to the Babylonian Empire and captives are taken to Babylon, including the prophet Daniel. The Babylonians attack again in 597 B.C. and more captives are taken, including the prophet Ezekiel. The last king of Judah, Zedekiah (597-586 B.C.)a vassal king to Nebuchadnezzar, betrays him, and Nebuchadnezzar launches a full-scale siege against Jerusalem in 588 B.C. The city falls on August 14, 586 B.C. Zedekiah is taken captive, the city and the temple are burnt, and the survivors are taken captive to Babylon. The prophet Jeremiah (626-586 B.C.) records his eyewitness account of the events in the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations. Contact: info@hotaudiobook.com

Written by the 17th-century Zen master Takuan Soho (1573-1645), The Unfettered Mind is a book of advice on swordsmanship and the cultivation of right mind and intention. It was written as a guide for the samurai Yagyu Munenori, who was a great swordsman and rival to the legendary Miyamoto Musashi. Takuan was a giant in the history of Zen; he was also a gardener, calligrapher, poet, author, adviser to samurai and shoguns, and a pivotal figure in Zen painting. He was known for his brilliance and acerbic wit. In these succinct and pointed essays, Takuan is concerned primarily with understanding and refining the mind - both generally and when faced with conflict. The Unfettered Mind was a major influence on the classic manifestos on swordsmanship that came after it, including Miyamoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings and Yagyu Munenori's Life-Giving Sword.
