Oh heyyyyy touchy subject. Nice to meet you. I’d like you to meet John Eldredge. He is going to tackle this subject with precision and honor. To say John is a hero would be doing a disservice to who he is to me. His writings have changed my life forever. To be able to sit down with him and talk about one of his sweet spots was an honor. Oh. And yes... Heather is back on the podcast too. You're Welcome. Carlos also dives into his feelings as a black man watching the Chauvin trial verdict and what he feels should be the goal in policing. You know. Light fluffy stuff. As always we appreciate your reviews and you can keep up with these conversations on Instagram @loswhit --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This week has been heavy. U.S. Army Lt. Caron Nazario told Windsor City Police he was “honestly afraid to get out” of his vehicle in videos of the incident showing officers with their guns drawn during the traffic stop. A police officer shot and killed Daunte Wright during a traffic stop. Black America is exhausted. This week Carlos talks to 3 of his black friends. He asks one simple question to each of them… “How are you?” You will be amazed at how much healing can be brought to your friends when you simply ask that question. Our learning this week comes from the depths of the souls of these 3 new friends… @ejgaines @prophiphop @carinedynamite. Please reach out and let them know how much you appreciated them sharing their hurts with you all. This week's episode is sponsored by Better Help. This week was the second-worst week of my family’s life. Our house got flooded in the Nashville floods. Our Bernese Mountain Dog Pope got really sick and we were at the vet ER with him until 3am. The next morning our favorite chicken Kris was murdered by an owl. Later that night we, unfortunately, had to go back to the vet ER and put our precious Pope to sleep. The next morning on our way out of town Heather gets assaulted by a suitcase in the Atlanta airport and breaks her wrist. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. How do you find HOPE in the midst of HELL? Listen to our story today and see how we found it. It’s closer than you think. I HAVE ZERO CHILL about the fact that my dear friend Danica is on the show. Yes, there are still random moments where I hear Winnie Cooper as she speaks(duh) but 99% of the time I am completely blown away at the depths of wisdom she has when it comes to dealing HOPE to the world. From her fighting human trafficking to her helping girls become the smartest, strongest versions of themselves... This week's episode will leave you ready to charge through a wall to fight injustice. Please make sure to go tell Danica on Instagram (@danicamckellar) how much you loved her wisdom and I'll see you guys on the socials as well (@loswhit) And check out all of Danica's math resources for your kids over at https://mckellarmath.com/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Welcome to the very first episode ever of Human Hope!  When I was thinking about who I wanted on the very first episode... It was a no brainer. Sharon McMahon (@SharonSaysSo) has quickly become one of my favorite human beings on planet earth. She is exactly the human we need to walk us gently through this chaotic political season. Sharon & Carlos discuss why this year has been the year everyone decided to become a "governerd", if she still knows every word to “I’m Just A Bill On Capitol Hill, why we must learn to compromise, and where Sharon is finding hope in and for humanity in 2021... Please share this episode, leave a review, and subscribe! Thanks friends. This is going to be fun... The first episode of season 2 of Fill In The Blank! Today we get to hang out with my good friends Russell & Kailey Dickerson. Russell is a #1 hit writing country artist and Kailey is an accomplished photographer and all-around incredible human. The wisdom gold that is dropped in this episode is honestly more worthy of an Oprah show than my little podcast but I'm grateful that they stopped by to share some of their dream chasing and hope slinging content with us. Buckle up. Season 2 is taking off... --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
