With the holidays right around the corner, it's the perfect time to revisit the ever-challenging topic of boundaries—especially when your schedule feels maxed out. In this episode, we dive deep into finding the balance between capacity and demand as business heats up and life gets even busier. We share one listener’s personal struggle with managing her calendar, especially when new clients throw off her well-laid plans (we’ve all been there, right?). We’ll explore the concept of capacity vs. demand, a lesson borrowed from physical therapy that translates perfectly to real estate. Your capacity is how much you can handle before hitting burnout, while demand covers everything from client needs to family responsibilities. The key takeaway? If you want to handle a busier season without losing your sanity, you've got to increase your capacity—whether that’s by adding systems, streamlining processes, or getting help. Plus, hear how Alissa found her own capacity sweet spot and tips for differentiating between real demands and the ones we create in our minds. Get ready to set some boundaries and approach this holiday season with more clarity and calm! It’s time to get spooky with another group of listener-shared haunted house stories! DISCLAIMER: If you are triggered by death, crime, paranormal activity and general creepy stuff, then this is not the episode for you. We meant no disrespect to the deceased referenced in the show. With that being said we tell some seriously wild listener submitted stories and we have quite a few laughs. We had a hard time getting through some of these due to general icks and a few cases of the uncontrollable giggles. We learned a lot about our listeners including they are incredibly brave, sometimes to a fault, and are excellent writers. In honor of their writing prowess and the O.G. scary story teller, Edgar Allen Poe, we are bringing back our favorite game: “name that short story”. We are pulling from our personal flood experience to share with others that are dealing with disasters now. Jay and Katy sit down to get the word out to anyone suffering through the unimaginable aftermath of a natural disaster. In this bonus episode of Hustle Humbly, Katy turns the microphone on our podcast producer, Jay, to pick his contractor brain. In 2016 our area experienced devastating floods that resulted in 110,000 homes being damaged. At the time, Jay was a licensed contractor with a remodeling business. He quickly became inundated with customers needing help to renovate their flooded homes. Based on that experience, Jay is sharing the tips you need for dealing with clean-up, avoiding being taken advantage of by contractors, getting a fair insurance settlement and rebuilding your home. I have been listening for 4 years & this podcast has absolutely changed my real estate career, how I do business, & my mindset. For my first few years of real estate, I felt like a “fake agent”, like I really didn’t know what I was doing or why I was doing it, just doing what I was told “should” be done. I have also purchased the courses & utilize them every single day, & have so many say to me how informative and professional the email templates are. Gamchangers & thankful I was introduced!
Love this Pod Cast! I’m just in my 2nd year and when I start to feel defeated these are my go to girls! Thanks for all you do!! ❤️💕
I have been a huge fan of this podcast for almost two years now! I have listened to every episode, some more than once, and I have purchased their email templates and agent systems 101. I'm also a member of their community and everything has been SO worth it! Alissa and Katy are such positive role models for our industry and are doing what they can to influence the next generation of Realtors®️! I tell everyone I can about this podcast and the amazing and useful info they're always putting out. Thank you for all you're doing ladies!! (sorry it took me so long to write a review! 😅)
Did not like this guy. He was kind of mean hearted when you asked about new agents and steps they take to learn
Great episode!
I just got my license in August of 2021 (I'm one of the 180K) and I've listened to every single podcast, I started in September. I even went back and took notes on What to Do When You're New, or Slow. It is an absolute MUST listen for newer agents. Without it I would have blamed my client for 20 showings in 3 days rather than taking ownership for my mistakes in client management.
This is must listen to for newer agents.
