Kurt Money and Kateline keep that Vault train rolling with another old Dateline to discuss since Keith and Co. are still on their holiday vacah. Notice we didn't call this Dateline a "banger." 'Twas not a banger but you know this episode of iLH is! KM is on a Murphdoggian jag in this episode and K$ and KL are loving every second of it. Bolo? BOLO?!?! Listen now!
Video version goes live on the iLH YouTube channel (Aisle H, @imlesterholt) at 3pm EST today!! Not only does it have video of what we're talking about throughout the ep, it also features Kurt Money's favorite transition he has ever crafted and of course, it's a MacGruber reference.
Dateline's still on the rerun train, it being the holidays and all, but Kurt Money and Kateline are here with brand new thoughts on another From The Vault. It's not hosted by any of the Main Four, but it is still pretty dope considering it deals with a type of blue paint that is the only antidote to thallium poisoning and also the FBI is involved being all gatekeepy about it. Also, K$ makes the usual stretches to get some classic Seinfeld, Breaking Bad and Kenny Powers clips in the show. Get what you deserve. Get the Sony. You gotta listen! Not only for the usual iLHness but because of a MASSIVE MASSIVE UPDATE!!!!!
Stick around to the end of the episode for an update on everyone's favorite dawg, MURPHDOG, and his whereabouts. This required an emergency recording sesh between Future Kurt and Future Kate.
Somewhere, Remy Ramsaran weeps because he has just been dethroned as the funniest AC interview ever. Holtheads...meet Nicholas Alahverdian. Or Nicholas Rossi. Or Arthur Knight, innocent Irish orphan. None of those are jokes and all very real. Listen now to hear K$ and Kateline lose their minds over the idea that this DUMMY thought he could fool anyone, ever. And if you don't listen? Well, that would be a right low blow.
Video version coming to YouTube on Saturday!! Check it out for visuals of this absolute toolbag in his element, element being gas mask and wheelchair. Also the video version will be like 10-15% different than the audio version because K$ refuses to let sound effects be in the audio version that will only make sense in the video version. So now they're different. Kinda!
Kurt Money and Kateline take another trip through the vault to arrive in Oregon, 2016, where Aisling Tucker Wyn Moore-Reed is out on bail for shooting her Uncle Shane in cold blood. Sure, she's got a murder trial coming up...but that's no reason not to audition for the role of a killer in a horror movie AND be super difficult on the set of a musical. And like Keith says in the episode, just like that..."A STAR IS BORN."
Video version posting to YouTube this weekend! Just audio this week on Spotify.
No new Dateline last week? No problem, Kurt Money and Kateline were off to the vault for an oldie but dang sure a goodie, "At the Bottom of the Lake." Montana, 1982: A Cessna 150 crash lands in Little Bitterroot Lake. A young couple had stolen a plane in Canada the day before but when the plane is pulled to the surface in Montana, there's only one body in it. Where's the other one? And was it murder? Or was it another tragic retelling of Romeo & Juliet? KM hosts and K$ and Kateline got plenty of opinions on the guy in the episode and the book he wrote. Also...America's Most Wanted: Final Justice shoutout! Get ready, holtheads.
The 1996 murder of Georgia businessman Lance Herndon is discussed on the most recent episode of Dateline, so you know Kurt Money and Kateline are here with thoughts on every second of it. But before they get to the episode, K$ has an update on the search for Murphdog. Spoiler: It aint great! We're worried about our boy!!! Murphdog, reach out, the iLH crew wants to know you're still in the game. Watch the video version of this on Youtube (@imlesterholt) to see visuals of what is discussed, like shots from the trial, Talana stirring the pot, and of course....the GUM WRAPPERS.
Kurt Money and Kateline breakdown the newest episode of Dateline, "Deadly Dance," hosted by Andrea Canning. In September of 2020, Ashley Benefield shot her ex-husband in self-defense. Or DID she? LoL. Also the episode is called "Deadly Dance" because some called this the Black Swan murder because Ashley was a former ballerina and, well, Natalie Portman played a ballerina in Black Swan who does not kill anyone. This is what we call in the business, a "stretch." Such a stretch, that K$ and Kateline both forgot to mention it at all! So that's why they don't talk about the Black Swan connection during the episode or even during their lists. But watch this in video form on Spotify or YouTube or listen to it however you get your podcasts, K$ and Kateline don't care how the Holtheads Holt, just as long as the Holtin' is Happenin'.
Want more K$ and Kateline in your life and have a spare 2 bucks a month? Join their Patreon, AISLE H, for two brand new episodes a month covering Dateline-adjacent programming episodes or movies. If it's based on a murder or inspired a murder or is about a murder IRL, then it belongs on the shelves down AISLE H.
Kurt Money and Kateline did not want to talk about the Menendez case again, so they are skipping the newest Dateline to discuss a classic Murphdog episode, "The Beauty and the Beast Mystery" about the murder of Lisa Pattison at the hands of her husband, Scott, and his workout machine. Who is Scottt, you ask? Oh, he's just a professional Jean Claude Van Damme lookalike of course. And does he look like JCVD? Uncle Reuben: "NO!". But before they talk about the episode, K$ brings up a very interesting question: WHERE THE HELL IS MURPHDOG?! It's been 236 days since a new Murphdog ep has graced our screens and the iLH crew ain't here for it.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss last week's new episode of Dateline, "After the Halloween Party" hosted by Keith Morrison. K$ and Kateline are a little suspect of anyone who is judging the swingers of Dyserburg, TN, aka The Pink Poodles Club. And who killed Karen Swift in October 2011? All signs point to hubby but ol Kmon wants to hear more about this brother and his "weird" obsession with her murder, according to sister Ashley. This podcast episode is chocked full of waist-high kudzu and Gummer sightings, both Mamie and Grace, so tune in now! Or watch the video version on our YouTube (@imlesterholt) to see pics of the blazer a courthouse guy is rocking and what '90s show it resembles.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the Dateline episode, "Deadly Omission," about the many murders in the life of John Peek. What kind of an unlucky guy has two murdered wives?! Listen to the episode to find out. And watch the video version on YouTube at our channel Aisle H (@imlesterholt)
It is a BEAST of an episode today as Kurt Money and Kateline discuss last week's Dateline episode about the murder or accidental death of John O'Keefe and the one person or many persons behind the conspiracy to cover up his death. Sounds confusing, right?! That's why this is the longest regular season episode we've ever done on iLH. Also, Murphdog doesn't host "The Night of the Nor'easter", but he used to? Also, where IS Murphdog? Listen now to find out or FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER watch the podcast in video form! Stream it now on Spotify or check it out on our YouTube channel (@imlesterholt) the following day!
A stinker of a Dateline turns into a fun episode of iLH with K$ and Kateline. Listen now!
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the newest episode of Dateline, "Wrong Turns," about the murder of Justin Hilbert and the murder of murderer Bailey Sharp in Riverside, CA in 2016. Also, Future Kurt gets put in his place by the most unlikely of culprits.
Season Two of I'm Lester Holt is here! Kurt Money and Kateline are stoked to discuss the September 27th episode of Dateline, "The Butterfly." It's 2011 in Cincinnati, and 22-year-old Katelyn Markham is missing and her boyfriend is determined to find her killer. But how does he know she's missing? He didn't ask her dad for her whereabouts before calling in a missing person. Maybe it's the creepy kid from high school? K$ and Kateline got thoughts on the Season 33 premiere of Dateline so press play, Holtheads!
THE FIRST ANNUAL LESTY AWARDS ARE FINALLY HERE!!! Recorded LIVE at the Cinerama Dome, join Kurt Money and Kateline and a packed house of mostly silent Holtheads as they hand out 13 Lestys, including one for Best Episode of the Year and Most Murphdog Thing Said over an almost TWO HOUR episode!!! Get your Lestys on and be ready for Monday, September 30th, when the first episode of iLH SEASON 2 will drop covering the Dateline season premiere airing this Friday!
EPISODE 50 IS HERE!!! Kurt Money and Kateline celebrate the big 5-0 by talking about the Dateline episode, "Dark Intentions," hosted by Andrea Canning about the death of two young women in the same Texas apartment complex in 1996. Give this a listen to find out why Kateline is confident it's the scariest Dateline of the year, if not ever. This a fitting end to our coverage of Dateline season 32 mostly because we are ignoring the Last Day retread that aired the following week. "Dark Intentions" is a banger of an episode, and so is episode 50 of I'M LESTER HOLT!
Discussed at the end of the episode are the plans for our Season One Finale episode that will introduce the first annual awards show for the ILH crew. Press play to find out what it's called, Holtheads!
Hollywood, 2003: Kristi Johnson goes missing and the ensuing investigation unearths a predator on the loose who uses James Bond for evil means. Kurt Money and Kateline are a little weirded out by Keith's blonde hair in the 2003 clips but this was a bi ol episode and tons of twists and turns. Dateline's podcast series, Murder in the Hollywood Hills, is given the tv treatment in "The Girl With the Hibiscus Tattoo."
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the Dateline episode, "Sound and Fury," about the murder of Tiffany Pugh by the hands of the worst named DJ in Atlanta.
Kurt Money and Kateline discuss the Dateline episode, "If These Walls Could Talk," about the death of Susann Sills and if her fall down the stairs killed her or her husband, E. Scott Sills did. Was it....the dog? Or could it be....a pig?! Those both sound like insane options but you better believe the defense attorney in this episode mentions both those options as alternatives for what really happened that Veterans Day Weekend in 2016. Also, try as we might, Harold Henthorn finds his way into the show yet again! Stop it, Harold.
It's finally here. The crossover event of the century. True crime titans Dateline NBC and Forensic Files join forces to cover the case of murderer John David Smith and why he thinks the body in the box belongs to a goat and not one of his three ex-wives. Kurt Money and Kateline are beyond stoked to present a brand new podcast episode about a two month old Dateline and a 20-year-old FF that Kurt Money has been talking about for months. It's FINALLY HERE!!! Both episodes can be seen on Peacock, the FF is called "Deadly Matrimony," Season 9 Episode 21. IT'S GETTING HOT IN THE KITCHEN HOLTHEADS
