The Yin and Yang of Self-Compassion with Madi Innes, Crescent Moon Connections

Episode 16: The Yin and Yang of Self-Compassion with Madi Innes, Crescent Moon Connections In this episode, we were able to speak with Madi Innes about a very important topic and tool: Self-Compassion. Practicing Compassion is the Key with Sophie Harvey of Well+Why Research Society

Practicing Compassion is the Key with Sophie Harvey of Well+Why Research Society “We need to collectively build our empathy.” -Sophie Harvey Sophie is an incredibly dedicated and influential well-being advocate. She is the social media manager and research assistant of Well+Why research institute. She owns her own business as a photographer and is currently completing a degree in Sports Management and plans to later complete a master of Sport Psychology. She is a true sport enthusiast and mental health advocate. Sophie is also an inspiration to us here at I AM RESILIENT.™ In this Episode, Sophie gives us a beautiful view into not just her own resilience story, but the innate ways she navigated her way to very powerful resilience practices that are now researched, promoted, and prescribed all over the world such as self-care, self-compassion, and exercise. She reminds us that the body knows how to be resilient and that there are ways we can integrate these practices into our lives consciously to make us more resilient. Sophie also highlights a very important point and this is, seeking help. Since challenge is a spectrum in life, we can insidiously move into ways of being that are detrimental to our health without even knowing. During periods of significant disconnection, such as the pandemic, it is easier to slip into these ways of being and coping with it. We have seen this globally and we can see the impact of this over time, but we can also learn how to move through this by listening to Sophie’s story. It is such an honor to have Sophie on the I AM RESILIENT. Podcast to share a story that will undoubtedly impact thousands of people. I hope you are comforted as you listen to this episode. Mobilizing Internal and External Resources For Resilience with Founder of I AM RESILIENT.

Episode 10: Mobilizing Internal and External Resources For Resilience with Founder of I AM RESILIENT., Nikita Paddock “The world needs more unconditional loving connection”- Nikita Paddock In this episode, The Founder of I AM RESILIENT., shares her history, insights, and stories of resilience. Although it contains sensitive information, the vulnerability enables deep insight into the importance of resilience practices and the intimacy of the I AM RESILIENT. Movement. I AM RESILIENT. is fully owned by Nikita Paddock, a humanitarian and entrepreneur. Prior to starting I AM RESILIENT., she explored universities, communities, nations, cultures, and various corners of the world to learn about resilience practices. After working as a nurse in neurosciences, she gained an understanding of the brain’s ability to change and be resilient, which resulted in resilience in one’s life. Nikita taught workshops, yoga, and mindfulness for universities, and healthcare centers to promote resilience in students, faculty, and healthcare providers. She went on to work in public health gaining experience in small nonprofits, private businesses, community enterprises, regional health authorities, provincial and national organizations, and global corporations. These included wellness promotion, family health, pre/postpartum/ infant health, comprehensive school health, mental health, and suicide prevention. While gathering data on her employment and volunteerism, Nikita identified an important gap in our modern western culture, which she is using I AM RESILIENT. as a tool to fill. This gap is caused by the lack of education and actionable tools to promote resilience around the world. During the 2019 global pandemic, Nikita began publishing the I AM RESILIENT. Journals, which include scientifically proven prompts for resilience and well-being. She delivered these to healthcare providers, neighborhood libraries, and eventually elementary and middle schools. Nikita continues to receive feedback by email with personal stories of resilience claiming that the journals were life-saving. In 2020, I AM RESILIENT. The podcast was started to promote resilience education sharing and has received positive feedback from listeners including professionals in the counseling and nursing education professions. I AM RESILIENT. continued to grow by offering corporate yoga, mindfulness, and courses on Resilience University. I hope you enjoy this episode! Silience. Silience (noun): The kind of unnoticed excellence that carries on around you every day, unremarkably—the hidden talents of friends and coworkers, the fleeting solos of subway buskers, the slapdash eloquence of anonymous users, the unseen portfolios of aspiring artists—which would be renowned as masterpieces if only they’d been appraised by the cartel of popular taste, who assume that brilliance is a rare and precious quality, accidentally overlooking buried jewels that may not be flawless but are still somehow perfect. Allan is stepping into Eldership to share his wisdom and I am incredibly grateful that the audience of I AM RESILIENT. is able to experience Allan’s wisdom.
