You'll learn why the Gospel accounts are not myths or legends, but credible eyewitness testimony that can stand up to scrutiny. Along the way, he answers pressing questions like:How do we know miracles like the resurrection are even possible and why are they so rare? What's the greatest miracle in the Bible? (no, it's not the resurrection!)Why are some atheists beginning to admit the evidence for Christianity’s greatest miracle?Do Bart Ehrman's so-called "contradictions" in the Gospel accounts defeat Christianity? What does the Titanic have to do with the afterlife and the resurrection of Jesus? Why is it highly unlikely that the Jews invented the resurrection story? How do we know Hell is real? There is an afterlife and what you do here on earth DOES matter. Not only for today, but also for eternity. The question remains for all of us: are you going up or are you going down? This week, Paul returns to examine the New Testament’s most controversial passages on slavery, addressing questions about human dignity, morality, and God’s ultimate plan while answering questions like:What rights and protections did servants actually have under biblical law? What does the punishment for mistreating servants reveal about their dignity and value? How did the Bible call out abuses of slavery and work to humanize servants? What did Paul teach Christians about how to treat slaves in the New Testament? Were there barriers that made abolishing slavery outright impossible in ancient Rome? Why does God sometimes take incremental steps to eradicate deeply entrenched evils? Why were most abolitionists Christians while some famous atheists supported slavery? How are modern atheists “borrowing” from Christianity when they complain about slavery? You'll learn that slavery in the Bible is far more nuanced than skeptics want you to believe. Old Testament scholar and author, Dr. Paul Copan, joins Frank to unpack this hot-button issue and explain how to think carefully about slavery in its historical and redemptive context. You’ll hear answers to questions like:What are 8 things a person needs to study in order to understand this topic well? What does the opening chapter of Genesis teach us about slavery? What is chattel slavery and how is it different from slavery in the Bible? How did the Mosaic laws on slavery compare to other nations in the Ancient Near East? What is the context of Leviticus 25:44 and how should it be understood? How is the term “slave” in modern Bible translations misleading? What is the ultimate vision of God’s Law when it comes to human dignity and freedom? Why wasn't slavery completely prohibited in the Old Testament?Tune in as Frank and Paul peel back the layers of cultural context, translation challenges, and God’s ultimate plan of redemption—revealing why the Bible’s teaching on this controversial and complex issue is far different than what skeptics claim. This is a must-hear conversation for any and all Bible readers so don’t keep it to yourself--share it with a friend to help them connect the dots!Resources mentioned during the episode:Grace Community Church - https://www.gracesarasota.com/The Revelation Project with Chip & Warren - http://bit.ly/44LbAGLChip on TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@drchipbennettDr. Warren Gage on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@drwarrengageChip on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@drchipbennettThe Book of Revelation Explained in 5 Minutes! - https://www.watermarkgospel.com/revelationDr. Gage’s Essay on Revelation - https://www.drwarrengage.com/revelation
Parents should NOT just forgive their kids. There has to be some sort of repentance, and atonement or no lesson is learned. The root word of discipline is disciple, which means to teach...if in your rebuking and reproofing, you're not teaching, then you are failing your children. Likewise, if you just punish, without teaching, you are failing your children. The social fabric is torn to shreds because of parents who don't understand the above.
Great show. Very informative.
Hi, thanks for your faithfulness! Just a note, however, to say I was disappointed with Episode 475 with Dr. Hugh Ross. I found him dismissive of YEC views and I found his characterizations came across as arrogant and belittling. Not to mention his interpretation of Genesis is just convoluted. I think interviewing some PhDs who are YECs is a future must. Plenty are available. Ron Carter, Jonathan Sarfati, John Baumgardner just off the top of my head. 😊
The analogy of the storm and fortress in Dallas doesn't seem to work since they proper word would be "destined" and not "predestined." The analogy doesn't at all explain what predtination is
This was very disappointing.
"Where in the Scriptures does it say that he'll be raised on the third day" is the opening question. I have a question: Where in this podcast episode was that question answered? The guest mentions a bunch of passages that you might call "types," but I don't recall him actually answering the question.
I had to stop 28 minutes into the audio since the guest had said almost nothing in 28 minutes. The total amount of information should have been expressed in less than five minutes. That's why I font like listening to Wallablce, Koukl, and many other apologists.
This show would be better if Mr. Turek weren't nearly yelling in every episode.
Turek doesn't see that Israel has become like the Nazis. They went from being oppressed in Europe to oppressing the Palestinians. Europe was the one oppressing the Jews. But the Palestinians paid the price. Israel has been killing innocent civilians since 1948 where they illegally immigrated to British Mandated Palestine. Turek is always saying he doesn't like illegal immigration, but he likes the Jews illegally immigrating to Palestine in 1948. And the Jewish Messiah is not our Messiah.
Listen to The Martyrmade podcast on Israel/Palestine. He goes into detail. It's 25 hours over 6 episodes. Turek never mentions the Zionists militias, the Irgun, the Hagana, the Stern gang who committed massacres against the Palestinians. He doesn't mention Ben Gurion, the first Israeli Prime Minister of Israel saying he would never make terms with Israel if he was an Arab, because Israel has stolen their land. He doesn't mention that other countries and the USA wouldn't take in Jewish refugees.
my only caution comes from reading Erwin W. Lutzer's book, "No Reason to Hide" where he quotes Putin who said, "Artificial Intelligence is the future, not only for Russia, but for all humankind. Whoever becomes the leader in this sphere will become the ruler of the world" And sadly, as a retired Art educator and artist, I know one literary author and artists whose careers are being destroyed from other's use of AI...and the general unsuspecting public that cannot as yet differentiate.
Please help me understand. Where in the Bible does it say we are made in the image of God? Reading comprension is key to understanding the Bibe. God made Adam in the image of Himself. Then He made Eve out of Adam's rib. And as anyone knows, a copy of a copy is not the same. I digress. But anyways, Adam in the garden of Eden was in his perfect adult form, meaning he was created a fully formed adult and he didn't age because he ate from the tree of life. I submit that Adam inside the garden was a very different type of person, than he was when he was tossed out of the garden of Eden. And we are all children of the "tossed out of Eden" Adam and Eve, or rather children of Noah's family. Based on this summation, we cannot be made in the image of God, for only Adam was, and possibly Eve. People flee from the Bible for many reasons. But one of those reasons is because they see an inbred 600 pound bucktooth type person and they think the Bible must be a lie because that's definitely not the im
Frank, I would strongly recommend you reevaluate Dickinson as a guest. He recently hosted a show with a transsexual friendly tone. If this is something you support then I have to stop recommending your podcast as well.
No kid, regardless of age, should be taught about gender identity, etc.
This comment is on Dan Kimball's response to the question why don't Christians have to keep the OT law. He gives the classic supersessionist answer that posits that Jesus abolished parts of the Torah. This contradicts Jesus plain statement that He did not come to abolish but to fulfill. (It makes no sense to claim that fulfill actually means the same thing as abolish.) The point Dan also makes that you have to ask to whom a command was given to determine if it applies to you IS the answer. All Jews are still in covenant with God and covenant fidelity requires them to keep the dietary laws and other OT laws WHEN APPLICABLE. Now, any law given only to abbly when living in the Land of Promise would not apply to diaspora Jews (at least not directly,) and any law requiring a functioning Temple would also not apply unless and until the Temple is rebuilt. As for Gentile believers, we may derive valuable principles from Torah laws we are not directly obligated to observe but we do have more fr
