We’ve reached the end of the season, and we saved the first song written for this album for last. Today, John and Joseph have one more conversation about what it means to be a fan, an artist, and both at once — and talk about “Hand of Death,” which never actually made it onto the Mountain Goats’ In League with Dragons. Featuring an exclusive demo of the song. The Mountain Goats’ In League With Dragons is out now on Merge Records. Get it at mergerecords.com/in-league-with-dragons. For more information, go to ionlylistentothemountaingoats.com. From Night Vale Presents. Produced by Christy Gressman.

I really wish I could be there when John plays the Tel Aviv golden boy for poor unsuspecting screamers.

Okay, I'm not sure if John actually reads these but I'm legitimately annoyed that this song is never going to be finished and released. It's a ridiculously good song.

I really like the format. I didn't know the mountain goats beforehand and I'm not sure I'd say I'm a fan yet but I'm definitely getting there. I absolutely love the format of going through an album song by song and providing audio commentary.

Dope cover and that comment about shackling Shakespeare for a year or five speaks truth.
