Nintendo has won a lawsuit against a streamer who pirated games and livestreamed them ahead of their release dates. The pirate, Jesse "EveryGameGuru" Keighin, infamously wrote to Nintendo "boasting" that he had "a thousand burner channels” to stream from and threatened to continue to use them, saying he could "do this all day." "You might run a corporation, but I run the streets," he wrote on social media at the time. He has now been ordered to pay $17,500 in damages.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has dropped yet another hint that the next-gen Xbox is basically a PC. Daemon has the details on your Daily Fix.
In today's Daily Fix:Battlefield 6's battle royale mode, REDSEC, has officially dropped. REDSEC doesn't just include battle royale—there's also Gauntlet, which is a separate mode meant for smaller matches of 32 players. And there's also Portal, which allowed players to customize their matches. In related news, Activision is opening another free trial of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies. The trial is live now through November 3rd. This could just be coincidence that Battlefield's biggest competitor is dropping a free trial the same day EA launches REDSEC, or it could be the first in many head-to-head battles between two of the biggest military shooters in the games industry. And finally, Time Extension has details on a Matrix video game that the Wachowskis pitched to Hideo Kojima.
What’s up, everybody! Daemon here and in today’s gaming news: Not everyone is loving the changes introduced in Halo: Campaign Evolved, the next Xbox will reportedly play PlayStation games, and a Spider-Man 4 with Toby Macguire is still on the table. #Halo #gaming #IGN
Battlefield 6 appears to have suffered yet another leak, this time relating to its battle royale. Max has all the details on your Daily Fix.
In today's Daily Fix:According a report from Bloomberg, Xbox's recent layoffs and game cancellations were due to a lofty profit margin goal set by Microsoft. Currently, the gaming industry standard is around 17%-22% profit margins, but Microsoft has allegedly pushed Xbox into hitting a high 30% profit margin. The goal was apparently set around the time Xbox was completing its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2023. In other news, Borderlands 4 is off to a great start for Gearbox and publisher 2K Games. The game is reportedly outpacing Borderlands 3 in terms of dollar sales in its first month of release (it's worth noting that Borderlands 4's different editions are more expensive than Borderlands 3's). Borderlands 4 also debuted as the number one premium title for September. And finally, Elden Ring's Switch 2 port has been delayed. The Tarnished Edition, which includes the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, has been pushed to sometime in 2026.
In today's Daily Fix:Hot off the heels of their ASUS collab, the ROG Xbox Ally X, Xbox president Sarah Bond has said that the next Xbox will be a 'premium' console/PC hybrid with a 'very high-end, curated experience.' This has lead many to speculate that the next Xbox following the Series X and S will be considerably more expensive, akin to high-end gaming PCs (a mid-range gaming PC already costs upwards of a thousand dollars). In related news, the price of Xbox development kits has gone up, but considerably more compared to retail consoles. Series X and S dev kits are now selling for $2,000, up 25% from $1,500. And finally, Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 for October has been revealed, and The Outer Worlds 2 leads the pack.
In today's Daily Fix:Adam Driver has revealed there was a Kylo Ren movie he was attached to that was rejected by Disney. Academy Award winning director Steven Soderbergh was also involved, possibly to direct, and the script was co-written with Soderbergh's frequent collaborator, Scott Z. Burns. Although approved by Lucasfilm, Disney CEO Bob Iger rejected the pitch and the whole thing fell apart. In other news, Warner Bros. Discovery may be up for sale again. The company was previously acquired by ATT and then merged with Discovery Networks, and is now in the middle of spinning off some of its entertainment subsidiaries like HBO and DC into a separate company. And in related news, HBO Max is raising prices again.
In today's Daily Fix:Microsoft is saying the controversial price of the ROG Xbox Ally X wasn't set by them, but rather hardware maker ASUS. The Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X are $599 and $999 respectively, and feature Xbox-themed UI and connect to the users' Xbox accounts, but are technically ASUS products under the ROG brand. Despite the price, Microsoft claims the devices have sold out on the Xbox store and other retailers, and the critical response has been overall positive, despite the steep price. In other news, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3's co-director is saying that the game's combat system is not yet decided, despite calls for the series to return to turn-based roots. This comes after the surprise success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which features many game mechanics popularized by JRPGs like classic FF titles. And finally, a leak about more Resident Evil remakes may prove to be real, with reports saying Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica are next on Capcom's to-do list.
In today's Daily Fix:The new Pokémon Legends: Z-A is going viral in Japan, but not for any reason you're probably thinking of. A quick mention by an NPC about his Pikachu's bowel movements started trending on social media, and though it was altered for the North American release, it's still one of the few canon mentions of Pokémon doing normal real-world things like going to the bathroom. In other news, Sony is pressing ahead with their Horizon: Zero Dawn live-action movie. Sony is now looking for a director and the studio hopes to shoot sometime next year. In related news, Sony filed an injunction against Tencent over the reported Horizon clone, Light of Motiram. That game has been accused by gamers and Sony of being a rip-off of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Motiram is slated for release sometime in 2027.
In today's Daily Fix:Dead Space's original co-creator wants another crack at the franchise. Glen Schofield, who worked on the original Dead Space, thinks it's possible a new entry in the series could happen in light of the industry-shaking EA buyout. In fact, according to Schofield, he's already been making calls to try and make a fourth Dead Space happen. In other news, Quantic Dream has announced a new 3v3 multiplayer game called Spellcasters Chroncles. Quantic Dream is mainly known for single-player narratives like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. They also have Star Wars Eclipse still in development, although it's been years since they've shown off anything from that game. And finally, legendary and controversial game designer Tomonobu Itagaki has passed away at age 58. He left a final message on his Facebook page, which was posted in the event of his death. Itagaki was behind the Ninja Gaiden revival in 2004 and the fighting game franchise Dead or Alive. His last game as a director was Devil's Third for the Nintendo Wii U.
In today's Daily Fix:Last year's massive server breach at Pokémon developer Game Freak is still providing fresh leaks of info. A new dump of leaked material not only provided early looks at the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but also details on unannounced projects and even new Pokémon species. The leaks also suggest the new Gen 11 games are aiming to be released in 2030. In other news, Microsoft is adamant that they're not giving up on console hardware by showing off the lab where the ROG Xbox Ally X was tested, and where the next generation Xbox is being prototyped. And finally, Call of Duty co-creator Vince Zampella spoke with GQ, reflecting on his career and admitting that CoD only exists because "EA were dicks."
In today's Daily Fix:The Walking Dead TV series had an impressive run with 11 seasons and more than 170 episodes. But even after that, plus six spin-off shows, executive producer Scott Gimple thinks there's still plenty of story to tell. Taking a cue from the France-set Daryl Dixon spin-off, the cast's core characters could find themselves all over the globe, with Gimple saying it could provide for 15 more years' worth of stories. In other news, Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best is returning to the character in a one-shot comic. Star Wars: Jar Jar Binks will be co-written by Best, and will feature the character playing a pivotal role in the rebellion after Revenge of the Sith. And we’ve got a look at the thrills you can experience in The Isle of Berk at Universal Epic Universe.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort and its new theme park, Universal Epic Universe.
In today's Daily Fix:Disney's Tron: Ares is glitching at the box office. The Jared Leto-led movie pulled in $33.5 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend, lower than Leto's 2022 flop Morbius, which earned $39 million domestic in its opening weekend. Globally, Tron: Ares sits at just over $60 million, and faces a steep climb to earn back its $180 million production budget. In other movie news, Channing Tatum says his solo Gambit movie was a little too much for Disney. The movie was going to be an R-rated rom-com andwould've featured "mutants having sex." Gambit was stuck in development hell and eventually dropped, but Tatum was able to finally put on the Cajun accent for Deadpool & Wolverine. Tatum is also featured in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. And take a peek into a four-park family vacation at Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Volcano Bay, and the newest park, Universal Epic Universe.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.
In today's Daily Fix:James Gunn recently admitted he wanted to add a Deadpool cameo in Peacemaker's Season 2 finale. Ryan Reynolds was apparently on board, but Gunn knew getting the okay from both Warner Bros. and Marvel/Disney would've been too big of a legal hurdle. Gunn has big plans for Peacemaker outside of his HBO show, with the DCU expanding next year with Supergirl, the Lanterns series, and the Clayface film. In other news, Warner Bros. has set a date for the Minecraft movie sequel. It's expected in July of 2027, and director Jared Hess is expected to return along with most of the cast. And finally, join the stars of the live-action How to Train Your Dragon as they explore the new Isle of Berk in Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort and its new theme park, Universal Epic Universe.
Welcome back to Next-Gen Console Watch! This week Daemon, Max, and Ryan take a look at Microsoft's recent comments committing itself to another generation of gaming console hardware. The Xbox brand had a pretty rough week recently, when they announced a price hike on their Game Pass Ultimated service, on top of the already-announced hardware price hike. Fan response was, as expected, not great, with the Game Pass membership website reportedly crashing due to the number of people logging on to unsubscribe. Does another generation of Xbox hardware make sense for Microsoft? And how can they go about fixing the Game Pass service?
In today's Daily Fix:A Simpsons-themed mini-season event could be coming to Fortnite, with rumors fueled by the appearance of a Simpsons cosmetic in the game. Kang and Kodos, the two tentacled aliens that pop up in The Simpsons' Treehouse of Terror episodes, have been spotted on a Fortnite glider. Currently, Fortnite is doing their annual Halloween event, but with the game already partnered with other Disney-owned properties like Family Guy and Star Wars, a Simpsons collab makes sense. In other news, HBO Max has dropped the first trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It's an adaptation of the novella series set in the Game of Thrones universe but before the events of the main series. It features a hedge knight named Ser Duncal the Tall and his squire, a little boy named Egg. If you know your Thrones lore, you know that the two go on to become legends in the "present-day" Thrones stories. And finally, take a peek into a four-park family vacation at Universal Orlando Resort where one lucky family got to enjoy all things Jurassic!Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.
In today's Daily Fix:The sequel to Michael Mann's 1995 crime epic, Heat, is slowly coming together at Amazon MGM after the company bought the rights from Warner Bros. Mann already wrote Heat 2 in novel form back in 2022, with writer Meg Gardiner, so the plan is to adapt the book into movie form. Heat famously brought together Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in a movie where they would finally share scenes, after the two already became Hollywood legends throughout the 1970s and 80s. Rumor has it that Leonardo DiCaprio is circling the role played by Val Kilmer in the original movie. In other news, the Hulu-exclusive Predator prequel, Prey, might finally get a theatrical release. AMC Theaters may be holding double-feature screenings this November, pairing it with the upcoming sequel, Predator: Badlands. And finally, journey to The Isle of Berk at Universal Epic Universe, and its brand-new ride - Hiccup’s Wing Gliders.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort and its new theme park, Universal Epic Universe.
In today's Daily Fix:Elon Musk has set an ambitious goal for his xAI Studio to make a "great" AI-generated game by the end of next year. xAI is the Musk-owned company behind Grok, the chatbot built into X (formerly Twitter). AI-generated games are nothing new, but so far they've been limited in scope. Game industry experts, such as Epic's Tim Sweeney, are bullish on the technology, claiming that eventually AI prompts can be used to make games in the scope of Nintendo's Zelda games. Speaking of Nintendo, the company dropped an animated short film today, featuring a baby chasing after a pacifier. It doesn't seem to be connected to any exisiting Nintendo IP, so it's a bit of a mystery as to why it was even made. And finally, the Predator is returning to Call of Duty as part of Black Ops 6's "The Haunting" seasonal event. This coincides with the release of the latest Predator, Predator: Badlands, which recently earned a PG-13 rating.
