In today's Daily Fix:Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's launch likely isn't going the way Activision would have hoped, at least in Europe. Via The Game Business, the European launch of the game saw 63% fewer copies sold compared to competitor Battlefield 6. It's also down more than 50% against last year's Black Ops 6. Game Pass subscriptions have not been taken into account as Microsoft has not provided that data. In other news, Charlie Cox doesn't want any of the credit for his performance as Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, even as he's nominated at this year's The Game Awards. Cox would prefer the accolades go to mo-cap artist Maxence Cazorla. And finally, despite what the internet is saying, Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet very likely won't be out in 2026, and probably won't have presence at The Game Awards next month, either.
In today's Daily Fix:A financial report from Ubisoft may have revealed the release date for the long-rumored Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake. An entry for an 'unannounced title' dropped March 31st, 2026 is fueling speculation that the remake will be announced soon. The title is supposedly being made by the Ubisoft Shanghai team, the same studio behind Skull & Bones, which itself started as a spinoff of the original AC: Black Flag. In other news, some old friends will be popping up in Resident Evil: Requiem, but don't get too excited over the possibility of playing as multiple protagonists. Requiem's producer confirmed that past characters will show up, but he said to not "over-hype it." And finally, Nintendo is taking down fan-made character art in Kirby Air Riders, specifically those of a bikini-clad Chef Kawasaki. Yes, that's a sentence you just read.
In today's Daily Fix:The newly revamped Steam Machine has been the talk of the industry since its reveal last week. Unfortunately we don't know the price just yet, but Linus Sebastian over at Tech Tips doesn't think it'll be cheap. Sebastian recalled a conversation in which Valve acknowledged it won't be sold at a 'console price,' i.e., around $500. We here at IGN think it'll sell for—on the low end—$700-800. In other news, Battlefield 6 had a strong debut month, coming in at number one in game sales. Its closest competitor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, just dropped this month, so it remains to be seem who wins the holidays. And finally, Silent Hill 2 Remake is now available for Xbox Series X after being shadow dropped with a nice 50% discount.

Director Alberto Mielgo claims that a staff of 155 people made the short, and it took them several months. This comes as more games—especially from Triple-A developers—are incorporating AI into their workflows. And finally, The Legend of Zelda animated series from the 80s will be streaming for free on Tubi. That should hold you over until the live-action feature-length film drops in 2027.

And finally, a gaming exec has said that Gen-Z doesn't care about AI slop. This seems to counter the pushback generative AI gets from the gaming community when used in game development.
In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo has revealed the first official looks at Zelda and Link in the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. Bo Bragason's Zelda outfit appears to be inspired by the character's Breath of the Wild design, while Bengamin Evan Ainsworth's Link is wearing a green tunic, more in line with Link's traditional look in the early Zelda games. In other news, U.S. congressman Ro Khanna is taking aim at Call of Duty for its supposed use of A.I. in Black Ops 7. Khanna's concern seems pointed at the loss of jobs as A.I. takes over some of the low-level tasks humans would normally do. And finally, a fan-made project to keep Concord multiplayer alive has drawn the ire of Sony, who is taking down video content showing off Concord Delta. Although Sony cancelled the game and shuttered its developer after Concord's disasterous launch, a group of fans are reverse-engineering some of the server code to keep the game playable to those who bought it.
In today's Daily Fix:Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is out today, but if you're jumping into the campaign, be aware that you can't just pause it whenever you want for a quick bathroom break. And finally, Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition has been hit with controversy over its price and technical issues since being launched yesterday.
In today's Daily Fix:Bethesda's Todd Howard knows we want The Elder Scrolls 6, but is asking for patience as the game is "still a long way off." The original announcement came back in 2018—SEVEN YEARS AGO, if you're counting—and there has not been any new teasers since then. Howard also teased a possible shadowdrop, like what Bethesda did with The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered (although several detailed leaks leading up to the drop spoiled some of the surprise). Game streaming via the cloud does not require the PS Portal to be connected to a PS5 console. In related news, code and graphics for a 'cross-buy' option has been found on the PlayStation Store. Sony hasn't announced anything yet, so many are speculating that this could mean dual PS5/PC purchases. And finally, the highly-anticipated Terminator 2D: NO FATE has been delayed yet again, but this time only about two weeks. The game is now slated for December 12, 2025.
In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo has raised its hardware forecast as the Switch 2 crosses the 10 million units sold mark. The Switch 2 continues its run as the biggest console launch ever, surpassing the Switch 1 (4.7 million units) and PlayStation 5 (7.8 million units) in their respective first six month milestones -- but in only four months (June 5-September 30). Nintendo now expects to move 19 million units by the end of March 2026. In other Nintendo news, the U.S. Patent Office is going to reexamine a patent awarded to Nintendo regarding the 'summon character and let it fight' Pokémon patent. This could potentially undermine Nintendo's argument in its lawsuit against Palworld developer Pocketpair. And finally, Microsoft's Game Pass Wave 1 offerings for November have been revealed, and as expected Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 leads the charge.
In today's Daily Fix:The co-founder and former lead writer for Rockstar Games had to explain why Grand Theft Auto will probably never be set in another country besides America (not counting that one PS1 expansion that was set in London). And it's probably for the reasons you can already think of: lots of guns, and American society is already pretty ridiculous on its own. And finally, the formerly Xbox exclusive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is not only debuting on PlayStation soon, but it's leaving Game Pass, frustrating Xbox players who not only are paying more for the service, but now there's one less Triple-A game to play.
