In todays episode we travel to Benirras to the home of a lady who came to the island 25 years ago and what started as a holiday turned into an International "fixing" business that is now a quarter of a century old!Serena Cook is founder of Deliciously sorted, but also has an enourmous passion for all things sustainability and she is a huge advocate for protecting the island through her work with Ibiza Preservation. They raise hundreds of thousands every single year to work on specific environmental projects like beach cleaning, protecting the lizards and creating awareness of the posidonia - Ibiza´s ancient seagrass meadows.Join us for her story on her favourite spots and some of the most bizarre requests she has had over 25 years in the business of making sure people have a good time on their trips to the island.
What happens when two burnt-out software salesmen invent a fake Ibiza client to escape miserable corporate life and blag themselves a work trip to the White Isle? That’s the starting point for Ibiza Coastal Solutions, the brilliantly chaotic debut novel from tech entrepreneur, DJ and former music producer Alon Levin. What begins as a fairly innocent corporate scam soon spirals into Ibiza nightlife, some seriously questionable characters and a situation Alex and Peter definitely didn’t include in their sales forecast. This week on The Reset Rebel, Jo Youle sits down with Alon to talk about turning Ibiza’s two worlds — postcard paradise and the slightly murkier side beneath it — into a darkly comic crime thriller, and how much of the corporate bullshit, club culture and island madness came from things he’s actually witnessed. We also get into Alon’s rather unexpected journey from pioneering electronic music in Tel Aviv and producing “Diva,” the winning song of Eurovision 1998, to more than two decades in tech, including Meta — and why he’s now added novelist to the CV. Corporate chaos, Ibiza excess, crime, comedy and some spectacularly bad decision-making.Join us in Ibiza September 30 to learn to Podcast in Paradise: https://www.podcastinparadisefest.com/
