Season Of Change

While I had great and grand plans this season to expand and reach out to new people that are impacting the world and communities around YOU. Literally the day after I made that announcement and made a form to be able to gather people to reach out to, we got a call that could potentially change our family. While I am sorry to be super vague currently, I can tell you that when we got this call, I immediately began to pray for things that I needed to pause/release during this potential season of change, and the podcast was the first clear answer. It was a no- question type of prompting. So here I am saying that I am going to pause this season right now. I WILL be back because it does bring me so much joy and hopefully encourages those that listen. While the decision to pause the podcast was an easy decision, I have been fighting the feeling of letting people down. I literally had 6 new people on the calendar for interviews on the podcast and was SO excited to share them with you all. It took all I had to reach out to those people to let them know that I wouldn’t be able to follow through at this time. I called one of my dear friends who has a podcast as well as another super successful business and said, I’m letting everyone down and she spoke something to me that initially cut, but is the real truth : The whole world doesn’t revolve around this podcast. And these people are not thinking about you as much as you think they are. HA. And that’s the truth! I have to put my own needs and my families needs before this in this season. Will you please join us in praying for our family during this season of potential change? We so appreciate all of the kindness, encouragement and wise counsel during these times. So here I am saying, Until Next time and I’ll keep you posted on when that will be! Thank you again for all of your encouragement for the podcast! It means the world to me!

Broadening The Scope - With Tracy Purdy

Who are the people in YOUR lives that have made a huge impact on the trajectory of your life? Who do you see in your sphere of influence that is making an impact on the community around them? I want to hear from you and these people. The term influencer has been added to our vocabulary because of social media I feel like over the past few years. Influencers not only have a following on their social accounts, but make a living through ads, sponsorships and so on. Whether you are on social media or not, ALL of us have influencers in our lives. I want to challenge you to think of some of the everyday influencers who have helped shape your decisions. Like I always say at the beginning of every episode. I believe that God has placed people in our lives, at every step in our life journey for a purpose. The more and more I open up about my stories, the challenges and the things that I am facing or have faced, the more connected I feel to the people around me. I can't wait to hear from YOU!  Tell me YOUR story or a person's story that has had an impact in your life!

Christian Hypnotherapy with Beth Ann Davenport - Prescription Wellness

I had been searching for an answer to so many different issues that I was struggling with.  I had sought out very wise counsel, attended therapy every week for a year, and prayed and prayed about my struggles.  I am a very logical person and knew the things I was thinking, and the things I were believing were not true and not what I wanted to believe.   When Beth Ann and I visited on the phone, I had NO CLUE what she did or even what Hypnotherapy was.  After I read through her description of what hypnotherapy was, I knew it was exactly what I needed.  Here is what I read: During a hypnotherapy session, a client is assisted in transitioning from a beta brainwave (conscious thinking) into an alpha brainwave (subconscious mind) which allows the client to review and rewire thought processes that can help them resolve a specific issue in their conscious, daily life. We remove the limiting beliefs that have been subconsciously holding you back, allowing you then to reach and exceed your goals with significantly less effort. It’s very easy, comfortable, and anyone can experience incredible benefit from it.   I can't wait for you to learn more about how hypnotherapy has changed her life as well as mine!

Dawn Barton - Mid-Life Battle Cry - Redefining the Mighty Second Half

Will you sit on the sidelines or will the next season of life be your best years yet?! Today's episode visits with Dawn Barton, Author, mentor, speaker and entrepreneur about her path becoming who she is today!  "Right now, we are the best we’ve ever been. We are a new generation of women, and we can define what the second half of our lives will be. We know more, we've done more, we've lost and loved more. Our "midlife" is not the beginning of the end; it's a pivot point. It's a season, a change, and a powerful awakening. This is our time to rediscover our passions, to truly pursue our dreams, to not just expect a ripple effect from our actions, but to make a tidal wave with them." - Dawn Barton

It’s A Mindset Thing

This week on the podcast, we visit with Mary Keel who is a health coach, but to me should be called a “mindset coach”.   Her aim is to make a generational impact as her clients and the clients of the coaches she trains change their habits which influences others around them. Ultimately, her heart is for people living fully as who they were created to be with no unhealthy mindsets and habits holding them back.   Sometimes we know that we need to make a health change, but don't know where to start.  Some people hire a coach because they want life to improve and to have guidance doing that. In order for things to get better, sometimes we have to…. here’s the kicker, we have to CHANGE. Our thoughts, our perspectives, our insight, our tools to notice and regulate our emotions...sometimes they all have to change. Change can feel uncomfortable, in all aspects of life, but often it’s uncomfortable simply because it’s unfamiliar. BUT the possibilities of the life you can create FAR outweigh any short-term discomfort. Change will not happen without our actions. We have to choose action to move us forward every day!     I hope that you are inspired to think about things that could be holding you back from the goals and things that you want to do in this life.  We are only given one body and need to be mindful of how we treat it.   If you have an interest in speaking with Mary about what she does, you can contact her at keelingitforlife@gmail.com or you can find her at @MaryCarterKeel on Instagram!  She would to get to know you and answer any questions that you may have.

Grace for Unmet Expectations

I was sharing some struggles that I was having in a parenting aspect of my life (being an adoptive mom) with a friend the other day, and she simply asked me this……It has completely rocked my world and I thought I would share. Have you talked with the Lord about any unmet expectations or unmet needs about your adoption….? Ummm…what? Did I have expectations that I THOUGHT were going to come along with adoption? Maybe I did have unspoken expectations that I thought things were going to be a certain way and they weren’t. Or maybe I wanted it to be like xyz and they are the opposite? It has truly changed the way that I have been thinking and relating to my struggle. I’m still wrestling with it! How many of you have unspoken expectations? Those things that you expect from someone in your life, but that you don’t clearly communicate? And then, when what you expect doesn’t happen, you get angry or sad?

This week on the Podcast, I visited with Kelly Koch!  She and her husband Thomas are the founders of a local music studio, Minds on Music. They decided later in life to change career directions to offer music options for local adults and children. This business has grown from home-based piano lessons to opening an amazing studio with so many musical opportunities. While they offer so many different things in the studio, the heart behind the why, is what has inspired me to visit with her. I can’t wait for you to hear about the science behind WHY music is so important for our brains and why I am so excited to have my kids involved at Minds On Music.

The Heart Behind the Worship

In the latest episode of Ignite Impact, I got to visit with Tammy and hear the true heart behind her worship journey. She shared with me experiences that led to her growth as a worship leader, pastor, wife and friend. She has helped to teach me that true worship isn’t a single simple act of song or praise, just as it isn’t only an event that we attend on a Sunday morning. True worship is a lifestyle, to put it another way: our life is our worship. Worship doesn’t exist solely within the measures of a song, service, or an experience. Worship exists in our very DNA. We are always worshiping something.   You won't want to miss out on all the goodness in this episode! So much inspiration and encouragement

Bushels & Feasts

After visiting this week on the podcast with Rina Thoma, author and chef, I came to realize how often fear holds us back from propelling ourselves forward. Even in the midst of grief and a mental health journey, she chose to pour her attention and focus into something that once brought her joy.  Rina did not allow the lack of expertise in cooking detour her from following her passion that brought her so much joy as well as giving purpose and passion to others.  Her story has impacted me in many different ways and continues to do so as I get to “peel the Rina onion” every time I get to spend time with her.  I can’t wait to hear how her story impacts you.  We don’t need to let our lack of expertise hold us back. It’s unfortunate, but many people believe that they need a degree and years of experience before they can start doing something important or stepping into their calling. I know a lot of people who had a passion for something, but were afraid to get started because they didn’t feel they were an “expert”. I also know people who didn’t know anything but were somehow gutsy enough to get started. The people who didn’t know anything, but took action anyways, are now called experts. How interesting. Let’s strive to be an amateur. Not everything you do has to be good, especially at first. Check out Rina’s cookbook at https://www.bushelsandfeasts.com/ . She has also put out a FREE dessert e-book at https://www.10glutenandgrainfree.com/

Ignite Impact Background

Journey through adoption IVF / Infertility Miscarriage Having Twins Faith Parenting Living away from family Talking about the hard questions Health / Fitness Marriage and Relationships Welcome to the IGNITE Impact podcast!  I am Tracy Purdy and I am so thankful that you have tuned in to check out our new little corner of the digital world!  A little about me…..I am a wife to Adam of 16 years and have 4 beautiful children that are true miracles. I am an Arkansas native, but we now live in one of the most beautiful places on the Earth, the Panhandle of Florida and we LOVE IT. This podcast has been a long time coming, though I was never really sure of the avenue to present this to the world.  A book, a blog, social media….I have had so many friends encouraging me to pursue something in this arena and even have friends who have podcasts that have truly inspired me along the way! A little background on IGNITE Impact…..  Like I said in our intro…. I believe that people are placed into our lives at every step in our life journey to be an integral part of our story.  Here on the podcast we will talk with individuals who have Influenced me, helped me Grow, Nurtured me, Inspired me, Transformed my thinking and Enriched my life and will hopefully do the same for you!    We will be talking about a variety of subjects, Whether it be Marriage and Relationships, IVF and Infertility, Miscarriage, Parenting, Adoption, Faith, Talking about Difficult questions, Fitness and Health journey and more!  We will be covering it it all! I heard a story this past week that helped confirmed the purpose behind this show.  It was about a professor that gave a balloon to all of his students, had them inflate it and write their name on it.  They then threw ALL of their balloons in the hallway.  The professor mixed up all the balloons.  The students were given 5 minutes to find their own balloon, in which, despite a hectic search, no one found their balloons….BUT THEN the professor told the students to take the first balloon that they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it.  Within 5 minutes, everyone had their own balloon.  The professor then said to the students: “ These balloons are like happiness, influence and guidance.  We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own.  But if we care about other people’s journeys, we will find ours too. I am on a mission to help wake up your senses to those people that are surrounding you on a daily basis that are placed in your life journey to make a huge impact in your life!  We are here to IGNITE that passion, inspiration, courage and hope in your life!  We are placed on this Earth for a purpose and go through situations in our lives that can teach so many others about how you learned to process hard, challenging things, how you developed the courage to take the next step forward and what you have learned from others. Let us be a faithful steward of the life God has given you. Let’s choose to Make the most of our experiences and Don’t keep them to ourselves. Let’s Be willing to share the lessons God has taught you. Here, we will work to IGNITE that flame deep in your souls to become a light to shine to others in this world.  My friends and I will encourage you to challenge yourself,  to search for purpose, and passion to live the life that you are called to embrace. The people on this show have certainly made an impact in my life and I am excited to see how they bless your lives as well. I hope to have you join us next time! Until Then!
