In 1957, the youngest serial killer in Canada was caught after having killed three children in four months. What many don't know about Peter Woodcock's story is that a 14 year old had been wrongfully convicted for one of those murders after giving a false confession. In 2016, Natasha entered a relationship with a man she thought was going to be a solid partner and a role model for her 7 year old son. He turned out to be the exact opposite, and she found herself in court in 2018 to face this man who had become her abuser. In November of 2011, a mother in Nova Scotia comes home to work to find her daughter on the kitchen floor, rocking and sobbing. Leah stood in the kitchen doorway listening to her teenage daughter Rehtaeh disclose the events of a sexual assault, the events as she could remember them. Rehtaeh could vaguely remember the digital shutter click of a cell phone at some point that night, but she didn’t find out until earlier that day, at school, that a photo was taken by one of the boys and it was being texted and forwarded through the school. The photo was of one of the boys engaged in a sexual act with Rehtaeh as Rehtaeh was leaning out an open window throwing up. Rehtaeh was nude from the waist down and the boy in the picture flashing a thumbs up to the camera. This assault and photograph sparked a chain of events that changed the family forever. One in eight Americans meet the criteria for alcoholism. We know it can lead to social problems with employment and relationships. And when those relationships involve those who trust the most, children, the damage can last a lifetime. Candice is a young adult who is two years into her healing process after growing up in a home of addiction and violence. In 1967, Ronnie Anderson died in what was determined to be a suicide. He was only 17 years old. Nearly 36 years later, his father Dan Anderson was found in his driveway, dead from what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Phyllis--Ronnie’s sister and Dan’s daughter--believes that both deaths were actually murder and they both go back to a group known as the Dixie Mafia. This case has many moving pieces but one piece that has stayed consistent has been Phyllis’s fight for what she believes to be the truth.
