Matthew Handley joins in to discuss Matthew Pope's book Assembled with One Accord.  It was published in 2016 and is a pictoral guide to churches in Wilmington, Raleigh, and Wake Forest.

Matthew shares one of his first poems written after the election of President Obama.  He reflects on what it meant to Christians and Catholics in the United States.

In the aftermath of Christmas, we often neglect the foster-father of Jesus Christ. His role, as man and patriarch to Mary and Child, is meaningful for the tradition of The Holy Family. While mentioned with his beseeching by the Angel to receive Mary found with Child of God, we also reflect on Him in totality. Throughout the lifetime of Jesus, He was known as Just Man, a carpenter, and reared this Holy Thing that was bestowed to mankind. 

Christ Jesus is the centrepiece to the Advent season. Christmas, literally, Christ Mass, is the celebration of His divine entry into our human skin, by the means of a Virgin Mother. Though a practical method, the complexity of Himself being God in human form transcends every other holiday, and present us with an exceptional holy day.

The Most Blessed Virgin Mary brought to us in her womb the Majesty On High. By her willingness to say “yes” to the plan of God, by the angel Gabriel, the Son of God was able to be conceived of in her, birthed to the world, and thereby its Savior.
