On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we addressed the ongoing fight to protect the unborn and spoke with a doctor who explained what it means to have an abortion pill reversal procedure and how that can impact the life of the mother and her unborn child. A wonderful book from several years ago has become a special day and opportunity to bless someone in your life. We spoke to one of the authors of this book who explained the 5 elements of this blessing and when and how you can participate in National Blessing Day later this month. Jesus is all over the New Testament and His impact can be clearly seen in the lives of those who met Him and those who came after. But what about the Old Testament? Can we find Jesus clearly in the Old Testament? Our guest, a respected Messianic Jew and the former leader of one of the most important ministries leading Jewish people to their Messiah, took us all the way back to the very beginning and showed us from Genesis forward the prophecies of the coming of Messiah. He also explained why and how the people of that time misread and misunderstood that the prophecy was being fulfilled right in front of their eyes. We shared the insights of a man whose groundbreaking work on birth order and its effect on our lives have impacted people around the world. He explained how birth order influences leadership style, how understanding ourselves better and a few practical strategies, can help us develop the skills to lead others through deeper, more productive relationships. Once again we encouraged you to lengthen your prayer list as we shared more stories of God working through his followers in the entertainment industry. What impact did the Christian vote have on the recent presidential election? What about believers who didn’t vote. We explored both sides of this very interesting issue. As the week comes to an close, we invite you to join us in the marketplace of ideas as Janet and Criag teach us how to look past the cheap goods on display to find the quality craftsmanship of the truth in the headlines of the week.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
How do you as a parent navigate the challenges of having your adult child back under your roof? On In The Market with Janet Parshall week we took a look at the issues surrounding why today’s adult children are reluctant to leave or finding their way back under their parent’s roof, how depression plays a role in this resistance to traditional independence and why prayer and good communication are vital to navigating this dramatic change in your relationship. In 1938 one radio broadcast sent waves of terror across the nation and its impact in the days that followed revealed something very important about us as a nation and changed broadcasting forever. Orson Welle’s The War of the Worlds program was that broadcast. Janet sat down with one of our favorite authors to talk about this history making moment, how it happened and whether or not people really believed that the end was near and Martians had come to destroy mankind. Like many authors the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien in the Lord of the Rings stories are informed by his own life experiences including surviving the horrors of World War I. Our guest took us deep behind the fantasy to reveal how the underpinnings of his worldviews and his beliefs about God became the scaffolding on which he constructed these stories that continue to stand the test of time. As we turn our eyes more and more toward the holiday season, we must never forget that our spiritual warfare battles don’t take time off. We need to be ever ready to stand firm on God’s truth. So once again we invited you to ask your most challenging and confounding questions related to this topic to one of our favorite experts, who as usual, took us back to God’s word for clear guidance and direction on this multi-faceted topic. As we close out another week, our favorite husband and wife team draw us once again to think biblically and critically about the news making headlines this week.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

TV companies pay hundreds of millions to the Tolkien Trust to make adaptations of his work. In the UK, he routinely tops the list of the nation's favorite authors. An estimated 2 million war gamers use The Lord of the Rings figurines in their RPG. It is incontestable that Tolkien is one of the most influential writers of the last century. Graham McAleer will fill a gap in the scholarship around Tolkien discussing the writer’s thoughts on liberty, dignity, and aesthetics.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Christians claim that Jesus is the Messiah, but how can we know if that is true? Jesus revealed the truth about Himself through passages in the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings—which together comprise the Tanakh (the Old Testament). Messianic Jewish author David Brickner likewise guides us through twelve prophecies from all three sections of the Tanakh to show: · why God promised a Messiah. · how God planned to bless the whole world through the Jewish people. · the location and strange circumstances of the Messiah's birth. · how and why the Messiah would suffer and die. · how the Messiah would exceed human limitations . . . and more.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
On a warm Halloween Eve, October 30, 1938, during a broadcast of H. G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, a twenty-three-year-old Orson Welles held his hands up for radio silence in the CBS studio in New York City while millions of people ran out into the night screaming, grabbed shotguns, drove off in cars, and hid in basements, attics, or anywhere they could find to get away from Martians intent on exterminating the human race. As Welles held up his hands to his fellow actors, musicians, and sound technicians, he turned six seconds of radio silence—dead air—into absolute horror, changing the way the world would view media forever, and making himself one of the most famous men in America. We paused at the start of the week to honor our men and women in uniform and the sacrifices they have made to secure our freedom. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we looked at potential changes that could be coming to the U.S. military under the new Presidential administration and a biblically based, transformative program providing hope and new directions for veterans coming home and suffering with the challenges of PTSD while trying to rebuild their lives after war. We took another radio flight to the land down under and visited with our favorite Scottish apologist who had much to say about the European reaction to presidential election here in the United States. He also told about some very concerning censorship rules that may be forced on people in that country and he addressed the resignation of a major European religious figure whose controversial views have led a once honorable church far from biblical truth in recent years. With the right words even a life can sound like the truth. How can we discern deception when it is presented with sincerity or reasonable sounding facts to back it up? Our guest, a respected pastor, gave us some practical guidance to help us see the truth behind the deceptions and to enable us to take an unwavering stand for the truth. Subtle bias has become outrage in our streets as jews in many parts of this country, Europe and around the world have become targets for prejudice and violence in ways we have not seen since before World War II. Why is this happening and what can we do as followers of Christ to combat this increasing tide of Jewish hatred around us? One of the leaders of a revered messianic Christian organization about the increase of antisemitism around the world, our responsibilities toward it and some practical steps we can take to stand up for God’s chosen people during these very uncertain times. Once again our favorite husband and wife team are standing on the wall to warn us about the mistruths circulating out there as they continue teaching us how to read, understand and discern the truth in the news headlines of the week.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
No matter how old you are, navigating your parent’s divorce is not easy. On In The Market with Janet Parshall week we spoke our favorite expert on marriage and family matters who helped us understand the challenges of being an adult child of divorced parents including some of the most common reasons for divorce, the ways it leaves a lasting impact on your life and how to lean of God to get you through this family altering experience. Emotions are not all they are cracked up to be. For all the wonderful good they bring to our lives they also can create stress, self-doubt and uncertainty. But what if there was a way to better manage our emotions based in both science and God’s word? Our guest helped us understand why we were given emotions, explained an emotion management model that we can use and shared how to use that model to not only handle our emotions better but to draw closer to God in process. Whether you call them a deceiver, a “gaslighter” or a master manipulator, the impact of a toxic person in your life can be devastating. But we spoke to respected expert on mental health and well being to get a better understanding of what a toxic person is, what leads to this sort of behavior and how to lean on your own discernment with the Lord’s guidance to help you navigate this most challenging of personality types. Much of the “well-being” advice we hear today is self-focused and self-driven and while it sounds good to us at first blush the practical reality is that it fails because it ignores God. This is especially true with the claims of progressive Christianity flooding many of the churches in America today. Our guest, a respected apologist, addressed stripped away the veneer of these teachings to reveal not only their inadequacy but to emphasize the power of God’s truth and the importance of finding our value and life purpose in His plans for us. As we close out another week turn our attention to more of the news making headlines this week and put it under the magnifying truth of God’s word.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alarming that millions of Christian's will not vote. Their vote for the more Biblical candidate could change the landscape of our country. So sad that they listen to people who turn them away from voting, especially Pastor's.
