Today we talk longer faster rods with two great anglers Jeff Kimball and Bryan Kimball. We already have two rods in our line up called the Coherence and the COHERENCE PLUS. medium fast and fast action. However I have been playing with a new blank called the PARSEC. The reference being to the Millinium Falcon and the Kessel Run it made in less than 12 PARSEC's. Now thats FAST! The boys start out talking about fishing and fishing flies and techniques and I begin to quiz them on the differences between all the longer faster rods we make. I also ask the question, is medium action rods out of date now? Not Needed? Obsolete? You will be surprised to hear their opinion on the matter. Enjoy: JP
Today on In The Seam we talk about something that we all have experienced. A shadow in the darkness of that pool that you know so well. Mark has had an experience with the beast, and its name is DAVE. Mark talks about this today. Make sure you keep tracking the progress of capturing DAVE on his blog.
Today I have a discussion with artist Ryan Smith of Ryan Smith Sculptures. Ryan did a beautiful painting of a brook trout in a net and the image spoke to me so much that I wanted to have prints made to sell to others to enjoy, and also have the proceeds go to Trout Power Citizen Science Group. The Giclee Prints are available on our web site at this link. Please have a listen and hear how Ryan explains how he makes these beautiful paintings, the time it takes and what inspires him to make them. Enjoy. JP
I briefly talk about a new rod I am releasing that was inspired by the boys at Blue Line Outfitters. The rod is a 5 and a half foor S-Glass 2-3 weight 4 piece. I explain a little about what the rod made for. I learned this from Adam and Hamp of BLO. Here is a link to their new website and their you tube channel. https://www.bluelineoutfitter.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn_b6MLgiI_MN3gvCrzeAWg
We talk about a lot of things today with Jim Sollecito. Jim is a multi time IGFA record holder, and it all started with his record CHAR with his JP Ross Fly Rods 8 weight. Jim owns a nursery and landscaping business in Syracuse NY. Listen in on our discussions and how a few things that have happened by accident in his life turned out pretty well. Also listen how Jim has used the outdoors to get over some very tramatic experiences he has had in life.
Today we interview Adam Shirley and Hamp Cross of BLUE LINE OUTFITTERS YouTube channel. I was interested in these talented anglers because of their recording of their adventures catching wild brook trout in Georgia. I was very amazed at the beauty of their surroundings and also the beauty of their fish. On top of all that, they are very talented and their skills to fish such small streams are impressive. Enjoy this episode. JP Ross JP Ross Fly Rods

Things get even a bit more deep with todays discussion with my good friend Keith Tidball.  Keith wears many hats in education and conservation as you will learn.  Most important in todays conversation we begin to touch upon 2 topics that are important to me.  The Stress of entry to wilderness or exit from technology and the stress of  re-entry back to society and communication.   We also touch upon a concept that I came up with about the shock wave of human usage on nature.  All of this is discussed today in our podcast.  We also get into a faith discussion about being Christian, and we touch upon the controversial topic of my shield logo for JP Ross & Company.  There is a lot to think about in this episode and I do hope you enjoy it.  Sincerely: JP

Todays podcast we speak to a seasoned angler names Mike Graziadei who enlightens me into a few things about angling that feel I will keep with me forever.  Relativity and the Age-less-ness of being outside.   Have a listen.  Mike also tells his story about catching a big brown trout on a dry fly and how that experience is unique and different from catching a steelhead.  What's better?  Who cares, they both are fun.
Today we speak to Steve Pogodzienski of POGO PIKE.  However as usual, we get a bit beyond just Pike Fishing.  There is a lot to learn here about mindfulness, being kind, and what is the real legacy we leave behind.  Have a listen...  Learn more about Steve and Pike fishing on his web site...  Pogo Pike
