Ephesians 4:1-16 Many people dismiss the value and importance of the church and neglect the regular assembly of believers. But we cannot live under Jesus Christ as our Head if we separate ourselves from His Body, the church. The Communion of the Saints is the result of the Saints in Communion with Jesus Christ and one another, empowered by the Spirit of God and saturated with the Word of God.
Ephesians 4:1-16 The Apostles Creed states, “I believe in the Communion of the saints” – but it is not enough for Christian to merely confess this great truth. The church of Jesus Christ must actually manifest the reality of Christian love, unity, and fellowship, as we live out the Communion of the saints as a powerful witness before a watching world.
Ephesians 2:19-22 The church is not a physical building with a cross and steeple – it is a living spiritual body comprised of born-again believers throughout the world. Because true Christians believe in the invisible and triumphant “Holy catholic Church,” we intentionally commit ourselves and our families to the visible and militant Church by the Grace of God, for the Glory of God, to extend the Kingdom of God.
Ephesians 2:19-22 If you attend a Presbyterian, Baptist, or any other Evangelical church, you might wonder why we confess “I believe in the holy catholic church” in the Apostles' Creed. After all, wasn't the Protestant Reformation a reaction to the errors and unbiblical practices of the Roman Catholic church? What exactly do we mean when we declare, “I believe in the holy catholic church?”

Romans 12:9-13 Some people try to outdo others out of a sense of superiority and pride. They may be arrogant and boastful, trying to show how much better they are than everyone else. Join Dr. Harry Reeder next time on InPerspective as he shows us a way we can try to outdo others that is actually pleasing to the Lord.
Ephesians 1:3-14 The Holy Spirit is co-equally and co-eternally God along with the Father and Jesus Christ the Son, and it is vital for believers to understand His person, work, and ministries. In fact, He is at work in the life of every true child of God in seven wonderful ways. His ministry in and to God's people is Sovereign, Supernatural, Saving, Sensible, Sanctifying, Sealing, and Securing.
Ephesians 1:3-14 In the Apostles’ Creed we confess, “I believe in the Holy Spirit” – but what exactly DO you believe about the Holy Spirit? A Christian must never refer to the Holy Spirit as “it” or conceive of Him as some impersonal force. Rather, He is a divine person, truly God, the third person of the Trinity, coequal with the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ the Son of God.
1 Timothy 3:14-16 Hebrews chapter 9 says, “Just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.” Have you secured a favorable verdict in the coming Day of Judgment by trusting in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation?
1 Timothy 3:14-16 Christians for centuries have declared, “He shall come to judge the living and the dead,” when reciting the Apostles’ Creed. But today, there is much confusion about the subject of the end times, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and His coming Judgment. What does the Bible teach us about these critically important matters?
Ephesians 4:7-10 Hebrews chapter 10 declares, “When Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until His enemies should be made a footstool for His feet. For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father as our Great High Priest, Mediator, and Advocate.
Romans 12:1-8 Jesus told His followers, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another” – but how exaclty do we do this? Join Dr. Harry Reeder next time on InPerspective as he begins a new series Loving One Another, exploring the diverse manifestations of love in the body of Christ.
Ephesians 4:7-10 Psalm 110 declares: The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Jesus Christ has indeed ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty – a biblical truth so significant that we confess it in the Apostles' Creed. What does God's Word teach us about the Ascension and Exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Acts 1:1-12 How would you explain the Gospel to someone? Many Christians would correctly say that the Gospel is the sacrificial death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of sinners – and yet this answer overlooks the essential element of His Ascension. Why does the Lord's Ascension into heaven matter for every believer and what are its benefits and blessings for God's people?
Acts 1:1-12 Christians in our day rightly emphasize the birth, life, Crucifixion, death, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ – but strangely, we often overlook the importance of His Ascension. And yet Jesus thought it was so important that He told His followers, “It is to your advantage that I go away." What is the significance of the Lord’s Ascension into heaven for every Christian?
1 Corinthians 15:1-9 Some people claim that the teaching and moral example of Jesus is the only thing that really matters, not whether or not He actually rose from the dead – but the Apostle Paul wrote, “If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” God's Word not only affirms that the Resurrection is historical and verifiable, but also essential to the Christian faith.
1 Corinthians 15:1-9 The Apostles’ Creed declares this great truth about the Lord Jesus Christ: “The third day He rose again from the dead.” But at first, the Apostles did not believe the reports of His Resurrection. They thought these accounts seemed like “nonsense and idle tales” – and today, the world is filled with people who think the same thing.
Jonah 4 Every preacher longs for people to respond to their ministry like Nineveh did – but not Jonah. Join Dr. Harry Reeder next time on InPerspective as he explains why Jonah was so angry about God’s mercy toward Ninevah – and examines God's gracious persuasion of the pouting prophet.
Ephesians 4:7-10 When Peter tried to defend the Lord from those sent to arrest Him, Jesus said, “Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?” All of us deserve the full measure of God’s wrath and judgment for our sin. But Jesus drank the bitter cup of God’s wrath in our place, and suffered the full punishment for the sins of His people, so that we could receive the gift of eternal life.
Ephesians 4:7-10 "He descended into hell" – this short phrase in the Apostles' Creed has generated much confusion and misunderstanding among Christians, even today. What does the Apostles Creed really mean by saying Jesus descended into hell? Where was Jesus in the three days from His death to His Resurrection? Stay tuned as we shine the light of God's Word upon this controversial confessional declaration.
Philippians 2:5-11 Many people believe that Christianity is all about Jesus' teachings and miraculous deeds, but Anglican bishop J.C. Ryle wrote, "In vain is Christ's life and miracles and preaching, if Christ had not at last died for us. We need not merely a teacher, but an atonement, and the death of a substitute." Our eternal hope rests upon this declaration in the Apostles' Creed: “He was crucified, dead, and buried.”
