Dorothy Jane Scott was a 32-year-old single mother from Anaheim, California, whose mysterious disappearance and murder in 1980 remain unsolved to this day. On May 28, she vanished after leaving a hospital where she had taken a coworker for treatment—her car was later found burning in an alley, but she was nowhere to be found. For years, Dorothy’s family received chilling phone calls from an anonymous man who claimed to love her and admitted to killing her, revealing details only the killer could know. In 1984, her charred remains were discovered near Santa Ana Canyon Road, but the cause of death could not be determined. Despite an extensive investigation and haunting clues, no suspect was ever identified.

In 2007, Tiffany Rubin, a special education teacher from Queens, New York, was sharing joint custody of her 6-year-old son, Kobe Lee, with her ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Lee. During a scheduled visit, Lee abducted Kobe and secretly took him to South Korea, his native country, without informing Tiffany. Tiffany flew to South Korea with the help of some amazing people with the American Association for Lost Children, after receiving a tip via her MySpace page from a local teacher who had seen Kobe. Tiffany successfully returned Kobe to the U.S., and her story became a powerful example of a mother’s determination and love.

You might know him as Bob Evans, Curtis Kimball, Gordon Jenson, Gerry Mockerman, or Larry Vanner– which is why he is most well known as the Chameleon Killer. Terry Peder Rasmussen is a convicted serial killer who is suspected to have at least 5 victims, likely many more, that he killed between 1978 and 2002 in New Hampshire and California. He is also the prime suspect in the technically unsolved Bear Brook murders, and suspected in many, many more.

Winnie Ruth Judd was a medical secretary in the 1930s when she killed her two friends, Anne LeRoi and Sarah Samuelson, allegedly over the affections of a man. She proceeded to put their bodies in trunks and travel to Los Angeles, where she was eventually caught. Her story doesn’t end there, though, because there were appeals, changes to sentences, escapes, and more before her death in 1998.

The unsolved murders of Phyllis Murphy, Patricia Furlong, Angie Smith, Inga Hauser, and Patricia Doherty span over a decade of heartbreak and mystery across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Each woman vanished under everyday circumstances—waiting for a bus, leaving a pub, walking home from a concert, arriving in a new country, or shopping for Christmas gifts—only to be found brutally murdered in remote locations. Despite witness accounts, forensic evidence, and public appeals, justice has remained elusive in most of these cases, leaving families and communities grappling with grief and unanswered questions. Their stories endure as chilling reminders of lives stolen and the urgent need for resolution.

Prue Bird was just 13 years old when she disappeared from her home in February 1992, and to this day, she has never been found. Two decades later, a convicted killer made a confession, but Prue’s family believes there is more to the story and others were involved - including some known criminals who were associated with Prue’s grandmother and through that, Prue herself. In fact, one of these criminals allegedly threatened Prue due to her grandmother’s husband testifying against him in another case. While a conviction has been made in the case, Prue’s mother has said this case cannot be closed until she is found.

idk why but at the end when u said Abby was 59 when she ended up missing....i was completely FLOORED. for some reason this entire time i was picturing her as a young girl between 25-30....(although i will admit i am at work and there ARE bits and pieces that i don't hear just because im moving around working) . i just recently started listening to this podcast and y'all are awesome 🙏🏼🩷🤍
Splitting the lot creates two new addresses which would have removed the address "the watcher" was supposedly watching, which may have been a factor in the proposal being made.
white tail deers are dimensions a dozen in Minnesota
😂 I get so tickled at female ran podcasts....it always sounds like that are talking out of their nose in a super calm fashion and I don't understand it....like it's nearly all of the female ran podcasts...it's not like it's just one or two of them ...but i mean i absolutely love the stories!!!!
another thing that's strange....why wasn't her card processing?? had that neighbor guy gotten ahold of one of her cards and withdrew all her money out of the count
I'm confused....why did he ask Donna Cliff to move in with her daughter?? and how would that make them closer to him and his son??? okay I'm so confused 🤔🤔
I'm only half way thru and I already hope this couple sued the shit out of the police and FBI
Ugh I had to skip this episode
Bring back original hosts
too much chatting before, gave up.
The anonymous host from Casefile is Australian, ladies. Lol.
I really tried to get into this podcast.. but Holy F*@$ the amount of times "like" is used is ridiculous. it's like nails on a chalkboard... like.. ugh
Please! If you r are going to do a podcast get the details correct. Learn how to pronounce names. You did not need to say you knew very little about the Salem Witch Trials; it was pretty evident. Sorry if this sounds harsh but Susannah North Martin is one of my family.
Vocal fry, every second word is „ like ” and this annoying upward intonation at the end of a sentence. ..
Danny Glover
I'm a Minnesotan, all my life, and we have no accent here. I love to listen to you guys' accents however, and the.....interesting... way you pronounce some words. Uff dah!
very nice podcast. A movie that is probably full of horror. Pretty excited to read the description https://webecomewhatwebehold.online
Love this episode, as a Canadian I can tell you that a) you pronounced Mississauga perfectly, b) Canada most definitely does not have its sh*t together, and c) Jack Astor's is a national chain, known for its really good burgers, and the waiter's uniforms which each have a snarky comment or joke printed on the back.
Hi ladies, just found the show and I'm really enjoying it. This episode was bananas but one thing that I'm interested in knowing is if Mary's mom had any known history of mental illness. Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it but anyway. Great show!
