Exiled grief is the sorrow that was never given space—the losses silenced in families, cultures, and collective history. It lives on in the body, in the bloodline, in the land, and in the spaces where memory was erased. It's a shame she's increasingly been taken in by the shallow worldviews promulgated by those in "The Intellectual Dark Web," like Jordan Peterson. They give way too many simple answers for complicated problems. In this episode she goes on about the rescue fantasy of millennials wanting to increase generally socialist policies. I'd argue that she's believing the libertarian fantasy that our ills can only be solved by the free market and our own means. No man is an island, and if she thinks everyone can solve all their problems through their own willpower, that's very shortsighted. People are trying to work together so as not to be subjugated by multinational corporations. Most of those promoting socialist policies in the US are definitely not asking for "free stuff." Most are more than willing to pay higher taxes in order to get universal healthcare, meaning it's not free. And her argument about what exactly socialism is also is a bit shallow. Yes Hitler, Mussolini, Lenin, and Stalin a

Meredith, I really love much of what you say, although I must say that I was surprised to hear you quote Jordan Peterson. I watch Contrapoints frequently, and although I don't recall specific quotes, I do remember how direct clips Natalie Wynn shared of Peterson's talks made me feel. along with her insight, it was hard to view him as a credible source. I believe what I'd heard was transphobic. I wonder if you've experienced moments that gave you pause when listening to him. I'd never heard of him before Contrapoints, so I suppose that I have a different perspective, but I just had to ask. I studied psychology and got a b.a. in 2002, and felt so unimpressed with my own degree, since in my mostly white, mostly straight private school (staff and students), I felt the meat of what we learned wasn't nearly as complete as it could have been. I identify as bisexual, so LGBTQ issues are very important to me. thanks for all you do. hugs, connie

I was hanging on every word...until the "TV's electromagnetic waves gave me a panic attack". That is a hard sell for your more pragmatic listeners.

I would prefer that the host use "the truth" instead of "your truth". "Your truth" is a subjective claim which can be a lot of made up junk by very distorted minds. "The truth" is factual and not debatable.
