The three of them discuss the first two weeks of our sermon series "The Good News" by diving into more details about the concepts of "Separation and Reunion" and "Conflict and Restoration." This week on the IPC Podcast, James and Mike are joined by Fred Hagle as they expand on the core teachings in the Lord's Prayer. In more detail, they discuss what Fred described on Sunday as the reality of prayer "Attracting Us and Repelling Us," and what it means for prayer to be like oxygen in our lungs and the concept of "soaking up God" for people who might have trouble with the emotional implications of such a phrase. Through this conversation, they discuss common obstacles that hinder our prayer life and offer practical insights on overcoming them. About 40 minutes in, the guys really get rolling down a hill and start to unpeal all the layers of the concept, "Give us this day our daily bread." They talk about how hard it is to know what that means and some ideas that might help us find the way through that. As always, if you've got a question, send it to questions@thriveatipc.com

This week on the Podcast, James and Mike discuss the final message in our Philippians series "Unshakable." They cover Paul's final three instructions in more detail: Prayer and Petition, Peace, and Participation, by unwrapping why they can be difficult in our daily walk through life. Both guys give some final thoughts on the series and look forward to What's Next with regards to Easter and Alpha. Near the end of the episode, they get going about Toronto sports and uncover why the Jays and Leafs are doomed before they even play a game. As always, if you have a question, send it to questions@thriveatipc.com.

An Active Church by IPC's Podcast
The week on the IPC Podcast, James and Mike dive deeper into the concept of "The Law," as mentioned by Paul in Philippians 3. They cover the three types of Biblical Laws, how we're supposed to view them today, and some of the biggest challenges that early Christians faced. After laying the foundation for the conversation, they give you a framework for how to talk with someone suspicious of Christianity because all they know about is "the rules." Also, Mike tells a quick story about an angry landscaping client, and the Heidingas have a birthday to celebrate.

Series: Unshakeable - Part 6 Speaker: Mike Wasyluk Date: February 18th, 2024
This Week on the Podcast! In this episode, James and Mike answer the question, "What Bible translation should I choose?" by diving into the history of the early recordings of scripture, how the Bible went from Hebrew to Greek to Latin, and how we almost didn't end up with a version in English at all. They also talk about the three main ways the Bible is translated today, how to know which one is best for you, and the benefits of using online tools like "You Version." They also touch on their experience from 24/7 Prayer, and James has no idea what he's doing this weekend. Remember, if you have any questions, email us at questions@thriveatipc.com.
