Confronting and Overcoming Addiction: Nico vividly recounts the pivotal moments in his battle with addiction, including the harsh realities of heroin use, the devastating impact on personal relationships, and the profound moment of self-realization that led to his path to recovery. The Power of Personal Development: A significant focus of Nico's recovery was centered on personal development, a critical aspect often overlooked in addiction recovery narratives. He discusses how changing his mindset and engaging with motivational figures like Dr. Eric Thomas played a crucial role in his transformation. BEST MOMENTS “I used substances to feel balanced, to get through the day.” “At 22, I was living out of my truck, pushing boundaries I never thought I'd cross.” “I realized, it’s not just about stopping the substance; it’s about changing how you see yourself.” “Helping others became my new addiction – a healthy one that brought real freedom.” ABOUT THE GUEST  Nico Morales was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was an athlete, opiate user, and over drank alcohol. Now is an author, graduate, and business owner. Nico had adverse childhood experiences that he repressed, this mental unrest led to an exploration of substances, eventually propelling him into opiate use disorder. By twenty-two, Nico was living out of his truck and spent most of his time finding odd, sometimes illegal ways to make money to support his drug habit. After seeing others close to him pass from overdoses and recounting the times he came near death he recognized there was a reason he was still living. He put down the needle and unfortunately he picked up a bottle. The cycle of addiction repeated itself and because of the extent of Nico’s over drinking he found himself staying in a building with no utilities. After exploring different counseling techniques that were not successful Nico turned to an alternative method for care, personal development.
