Caitlin Adams pops in to chat about her victory in the Melbourne Marathon, chatting about how and when she decided to step up to the marathon distance, debriefing her race performance and the support she had with her on the day and throughout her training, before taking some time to address rumours at Team Tempo.

Jack Rayner successfully defended his Melbourne Marathon crown, winning in a time of 2:15:01 ahead of Steve McKenna and Fraser Darcy. Caitlin Adams won in her debut marathon in 2:30:25, ahead of Sarah Klein and Milly Clark. Haftu Strintzos won the Half Marathon in 1:02:13, ahead of Zach Facioni and Toby Gualter of New Zealand. Izzy Batt-Doyle won the half marathon in a course record time of 1:08:55, with Georgia Grgec of New Zealand in second, and Sinead Diver in third.
Adam Goddard won the 10k in 28:40 as did Ellie Pashley in 33:41 in her return to racing. Official Results
Jacob Kiplimo won the Chicago Marathon in a time of 2:02:23, after setting off at world record pace. Amos Kipruto and Alex Masai of Kenya rounded out the podium, while Conner Mantz set the US National Record by running 2:04:43, placing fourth. Hawi Feyesa Gejia won the Chicago Marathon in 2:14:57, ahead of Megerta Alemu and Magdalena Shauri of Tanzania, with first American Natosha Rogers sixth overall.

Angus Hinkman took the bronze medal in the T38 1500m in 3:58.19, with Reece Langdon in fourth and Ben Eppelstun in twelfth.

Geordie Beamish of New Zealand upsets Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco in the 3000m Steeplechase Final, taking the gold medal right on the finish line in 8:33.08, with Edmund Serem of Kenya in third. Faith Cherotich of Kenya won a chaotic steeplechase Final in 8:51.59 ahead of Winifred Yavi of Bahrain and Sembo Almayew of Ethiopia.
Jess Hull won the bronze medal after surviving the fast finishing Kenyan duo of Dorcas Ewoi who won silver and Nelly Chepchirchir who finished fourth, with Faith Kipyegon winning yet another championship gold medal in 3:52.15.
Isaac Nader of Portugal was the winner in a tightly contested 1500m in 3:34.10, with 2022 Champion Jake Wightman second and Reynold Cheruiyot of Kenya for the bronze medal.
In the 800m Peter Bol ran 1:44.15 where he was eventually unable to progress out of the heats, with Payton Craig running 1:45.44 and Luke Boyes 1:45.54. Emmanuel Wanyonyi won in 1:41.86 with Djamel Sedjati of Algeria in second and Marco Arop of Canada third.
Jess Hull ran an 800m Oceania Area and National Record of 1:57.15 to advance into the Final, where Claudia Hollingsworth 1:59.50 in the semi final and Abbey Caldwell 1:58.44. Lilian Odira of Kenya won the gold medal in the final in a Championship Record 1:54.62 with Great Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell and Keely Hodgkinson in second and third respectively, while Jess Hull ran close to her national record in 1:57.30.
Beatrice Chebet won the 5000m final in 14:54.36, ahead of 1500m Champion Faith Kipyegon and Nadia Battocletti winning bronze to add to the silver from the 10000m. Rose Davies placed 10th in 15:03.61 with Linden Hall just behind in 11th in 15:04.03. Georgia Griffith ran 15:33.15 in the heats.
Cole Hocker won the gold medal in the 5000m to resolve his disqualification in the 1500m, in a time of 12:58.30 with Isaac Kemeli of Belgium winning silver with Jimmy Gressier winning bronze to add to his 10000m victory. Ky Robinson finished fast in fourth place in 12:59.61. World Athletics Results
Sebastian Sawe won this year’s edition of the Berlin Marathon, running 2:02:16 in warm conditions, well ahead of the rest of the field with Akira Akasaki of Japan in 2:06:15 and Chemdissa Debele of Ethiopia in 2:06.57.
Rosemary Wanjiru of Kenya won in 2:21.05, ahead of Dera Dida of Ethiopia in 2:21:08 and Azmera Gebru in 2:21:29. Official Results
Izzy Batt-Doyle won the City Bay 12k Fun Run in Adelaide with a time of 36:54 ahead Bronte Oates and Ruby Smee. Adam Goddard was the winner of a local field in 34:06 over Isaac Heyne and Adrian Potter. City-Bay Results
Rachel McGuinness and Josh Bourke won the Run Prix Half Marathon in Albert Park Melbourne, Donve Viljoen and William Little won the 10k. Run Prix Results
Western Athletics sealed their Premiership of the XCR season with a win of the Men’s Premier Division Tan Relays, with Alexander Cameron-Smith recording the fastest lap in 10:53. Ballarat Region and Melbourne University rounded out the podium of the relays.
Sandringham likewise cemented their Premiership with a win in Women’s Premier Division ahead of Box Hill and Western Athletics, while Bianca Puglisi of Essendon ran the fastest lap of 12:34. AthsVic Results Hub

Tom goes through the selection process for Commonwealth Games & subsequently the World Half, how he’s dealt with the attention and preparation in the lead up and afterwards, unpacking with Brady to setting a new personal best of 64:18.

Beatrice Chebet won the Women’s 10000m in 30:37.61, holding off Nadia Battocletti who set the Italian National Record and Guduf Tsegaye from Ethiopia. Lauren Ryan was the first Australian in 9th with 31:27.28, with Izzi Batt-Doyle 18th in 31:53.41.
Jimmy Gressier of France broke through at the final moments to take the gold medal in the Men’s 10000m in 28:55.77 ahead of Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia and Andreas Almgren of Sweden.
Men’s Steeplechase Ed Trippas ran 8:46.51 in his heat of the 3000m steeplechase, battling a back injury sustained days before. In the women’s steeplechase heats Amy Chasin ran 9:50.53 and Cara Feain-Ryan ran 9:42.62
Jess Hull is set to race the 1500m final after keeping to the front in both the heats and semi-final. Linden Hall ran well in the heat before, before running to place seventh in her semi final. Sarah Billings ran in her heat. The men were unable to advance beyond the heats, with Cam Myers running 3:42.75, Adam Spencer 3:42.17 and Jude Thomas 3:38.19.
Olympic Champion Peres Chepchirchir outlasted Tigist Assefa, with Julia Paternain representing Uruguay the shock bronze medallist. Vanessa Wilson placed 39th in 2:39:17 in her World Championship debut with Sarah Klein 42nd in 2:41:46 and Tara Palm placing 48th in 2:44:51.
Alphonce Simbu of Tanzania held off Amanal Petros of Germany in a photo finish, both men given the time of 2:09:48, with Illiass Aouani of Italy in third place. Tim Vincent placed 44th in 2:20:12, with Liam Boudin 57th in 2:24:39.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has sided with the Athletics Integrity Unit who barred Diribe Welteji of Ethiopia from the World Championships for refusing to provide a test sample.

Hailemaryam Kiros of Ethiopia won the Sydney Marathon in an all-comers record of 2:06:06, just holding off compatriot Addis Gobena, with Eliud Kipchoge finishing 9th place. Haftu Strintzos was the first Australian to win the National Marathon Championship in 2:11:27, ahead of Tom Do Canto second in 2:13:25 and Brett Robinson third in 2:15:00. Sifan Hassan sets the all-comers record in 2:18:22 ahead of Brigid Kosgei. Leanne Pompeani was the first Australian to cross in 2:24:47 the fastest on Australian soil, with Jessica Stenson second in 2:28:56 and Lisa Weightman third in 2:29:34.
Zach Facioni and Jenny Blundell each won the 10k event.
Tom Do Canto joins the show to recap his performance and the atmosphere on his way to second place to the Australian Championship.

Jessica Hull went out hard in the 1500m final in the Zurich Diamond League but was ultimately unable to hold off winner Nelly Chepchirchir, coming second in 3:57.02 with Linden Hall finishing fast in third in 3:57.44.
Sarah Billings ran 1:58.76 in the 800m, while in the women’s 3000m Georgia Griffith ran 8:41.36 for fourth place with Rose Davies running 8:46.11.
Niels Laros won the 1500m in a Dutch National Record of 3:29.20, while Jimmy Gressier was the surprise packet winning the 3000m in 7:36.78.

On a rainy Lausanne Diamond League, Claudia Hollingsworth ran 1:58.81 in the 800m. In the B race, Catriona Bisset ran 2:01.18 and Bendere Oboya ran 2:03.22.
Jack Rayner ran 13:31.22 in the Men’s 5000m with Isaac Kimeli winning in 13:07.67.

Linden Hall second in Brussels Diamond League 3:56.33 PB, just behind winner NIkki Hiltz in 3:55.94. Neils Laros won the Men's 1500m in 3:30.58, while Agnes Ngetich won the Women’s 5000m in 14:24.99.

Bronte Oates led from the start to win her first National Cross Country Championships at Victoria Park, Ballarat. Jenny Blundell placed second for NSW, with Georgia Hansen third for Victoria. In the women’s team competition New South Wales were the winners, followed by Victoria and Queensland in third.
Zach Facioni won the National Championship making a break in the final stages of the race, with Aiden Veltan and Matt Buckell representing Victoria rounding out the podium. Victoria won the Men’s Teams, with NSW in second and the ACT in third.

Claudia Hollingsworth ran 1:57.67 to set the new 800m National Record at the Silesia Diamond League, with Abbey Caldwell running 1:57.70 also under the old record. Catriona Bisset, the previous national record holder, ran a season best of 2:00.64 with the race won by Keeley Hodgkinson in 1:54.74.
Linden Hall ran 3:56.69 in the 1500m for a personal best by .01 of a second and Sarah Billings running 4:05.78, with Guduf Tsegay of Ethiopia winning in 3:50.62.
Faith Kipyegon ran the second fastest 3000m of all time in 8:07.04, with pacing from Jess Hull. Rose Davies ran 8:36.53, with Lauren Ryan running a 8:37.56 Personal Best and Georgia Griffiths a 8:40.08.
Cam Myers was in a tightly packed finish to run 3:33.82, with Oli Hoare running 3:34.40 with Yared Nuguse winning in 3:33.19.

Seth O’Donnell leads gun to tape to win the 5000m in 13:18.48 at Motonet GP 5000m in Oulu, FInland to move up in the World Rankings.
