Crypto just experienced the largest crash in history, with an estimated $200 Billion wiped from the market just this week. It's all because of one company - FTX.  The former billionaire and CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, has been hailed as the Hero of WEB3 throughout the bear market, but this week he became Crypto's biggest villain. Tracy Wang of Coindesk joins the show to tell us how her colleague, Ian Allison, triggered this chain of events with leaked information received earlier this week, and all the seedy details that have come out since then.  Plus, Meta lays off 11,000 of it's workforce after another quarter in the red. Year over Year losses have reached over 22 Billion dollars as their conquest towards the Metaverse fails to gain traction.  While Crypto Crashes and Meta Burns - Blockchain Tech is still making its way into the mainstream. This midterm election, some voters were able to submit their ballot remotely from their smart phone, thanks to the company Voatz. We meet with CEO Nimit Sawhney to find out how soon this will be available to all voters - and is it safe?  
Elon Musk has taken over Twitter and is already turning the company on its head with mass layoffs. Many are wondering - how can Elon use blockchain tech to solve some of the issues ruining the platform? Daniel ZKuhn from Coindesk joins the show to discuss how leading Web3 investors were involved in the acquisition, and what we can expect from the new Twitter King.  The creator of the popular cartoon Rick and Morty launched an NFT project called Art Gobblers, and it's quickly knocked some of the largest NFT collections off the charts. The Adult Entertainment Industry is often the first to the table when it comes to the latest tech. Sex work has been at the forefront of every new form of content sharing - and now Web3 is offering new ways creators can interact with their fans. CrassKitty is the founder of Proof of Peach, a woman-founded platform that allows creators to control what they create and how their content is accessed - by bringing it to the blockchain. She's joined by content creator, Joseline Kelly, to tell Shira how this new tech can be a safer space for sex work.  A new NFT project from the popular social media platform Reddit has exploded onto the market and dominated the bear market, knocking some of the top NFT communities off the charts. Shira's joined by Pio Vincenzo to learn how Reddit was able to pull this off without even using the term "NFT." Apple released new terms of service and laid out clear guidelines for apps selling NFTs - and web3 advocates are not happy. The debate over artist Royalties is heating up as Magic Eden, a major NFT based game and marketplace, moves to "optional royalties" to withstand their competitors and purchasers who are working around the system to save on fees. Web3 was supposed to be the saving grace for creatives who rarely see compensation after an initial sale. Was it a short lived dream? Eli Tan from Coindesk joins the show to explain how the market is shifting, and Rebecca Rose offers her take from an artists perspective.  Plus, Roofstock is making headlines for selling a home as an NFT in South Carolina. We've seen homes sold as NFT's earlier this year, but what sets this one apart is that it was completely sold AND financed on the blockchain. The US Securities and Exchange Commission has continuously chosen "Regulation through Enforcement," as opposed to providing clear guidelines for all things Web3. This week, the SEC settled a case against Kim Kardashian over a paid Instagram post that promoted a cryptocurrency. Emily Parker from Coindesk joins the show to tell us why she thinks this enforcement will be good for the space long-term.  And as one case was closed, another one was opened. The SEC is launching an investigation into Yuga Labs, creators of one of the most popular NFT Projects - The Bored Ape Yacht Club. Details are still unknown, but any are speculating it is over the cryptocurrency "Apecoin" that was created to support the BAYC ecosystem. Andrew Hayward from Decrypt breaks down the history and controversy surrounding BAYC.  Lastly - renowned artist Damien Hurst made history this week when he burned Millions of dollars worth of physical art, in the name of NFT's. This week we're celebrating International Day of The Girl (Oct.11th!) with some of the women trailblazing through Web3 and using the power of blockchain tech to foster opportunity and safety for other girls.  Alona Shevchenko helped create UKRAINE DAO earlier this year to help aid in the fight against Russian tyranny. Now, this same model is being used to help the protestors fighting in Iran, after 22 year old Mahsa Amini was arrested for not wearing a Hijab and later killed in custody. Maral Pourkazemi is making her blockchain debut with the IRANIAN DAO to give a microphone to women on the ground and help fund change.  Juliette Blake joins the show to share why she's taking her Web2 brand Miss O and Friends and bringing it to Web3. Miss O Cool Girls is working to lower the barrier to entry for young girls through education and inclusion. They're building educational platforms and creating safe spaces for girls to witness and participate the future of the web.  My BFF cofounder Jaime Schmidt to learn about how she formed this network of powerful women to learn and grow in Web3 through collaboration and camaraderie.  Honeybadges is an NFT project with a purpose. G.D Anderson was disheartened to see how much money in charity work gets lost in red tape and fees. The blockchain is cutting out the middlemen and stretching donations further. Honeybadges give you an emblem that represents you while supporting a certain cause. Skeptical investors and even Governments have been drawn to a sub-class of Cryptocurrencies, called Stablecoins. Last year China banned Crypto altogether, and then launched their own Stablecoin called CNHC earlier this year. Another coin, UST became one of the biggest Stablecoins last year before it tanked within days this year, collapsing the entire market with it. What makes Stablecoins different from Bitcoin and Ethereum, how do they work, and are they THAT stable? "The Ethereum Merge" is said to be the biggest Crypto event since Bitcoin. One of the biggest benefits of Web3 and blockchain tech is that Artists can be compensated for their work long after the initial sale. The benefit of selling your work on the blockchain is that royalty terms are baked into an underlying Smart Contract tied to the artists work. But some platforms are creating ways to circumvent these rules and undercut the agreements. This week sparked a huge debate on twitter over Artist Royalties in Web3, so we sit down with Andrew Hayward of Decrypt Media to break it all down. Plus Web3 artist SWOPES joins Shira to give her take.  After months of anticipation, the Fed has issued guidelines for banks looking to get into Crypto trading.
