An update on plans for a short 3rd season as well as a few special bonus episodes called The Green Room Sessions!
Deuteronomy is such a rich book with history and law intertwined, but what if I told you it was also about faith? God wants our hearts. He always has. Let me prove it to you in the book of Deuteronomy.
Ashley Warnick joins me today to discuss the ways God has taught her about her true worth and identity. We talk about being chosen despite our flaws and about being loved despite our mistakes. God is so kind, tune in to hear more.
Welcome back, Darby! Join me as I sit down again this week with Darby Mitchell to discuss Scripture as literature and how that shapes the way we approach the Bible. We snuck in a "pop culture goes to seminary" segment right in the middle for some extra fun.
SIX DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS 2022! Merry Christmas, let's make the most of these next six days to take our hearts before the manger and worship our King. Immanuel. God with us.
The book of Exodus is a rich book that can oftentimes be overlooked. History and Law are bound up together, what are we supposed to do with it? Rachel Jorgensen joins us today to give us an overview of the book and talk through how we, as New Testament believers, should think about the Law.
Dalton Mitchell joins me today to discuss community! He shares what he has learned about Biblical community over the years from Scripture, books, and experience. We hope you are encouraged, equipped, or inspired to deepen Biblical community in your life.
Isabelle VanSyckle joins me on today's episode to talk about what it's like being a current Gen Z-er in High School right now! She will give you hope for our future with her passion and joy in the Lord. We talk all things high school, the power of our words as evidenced by James 3, and the impact discipleship has had on both of our lives. It's a really fun conversation that you don't want to miss. WE HAVE OUR FIRST GUEST! Holly Martin joins us today to share her own story of walking through hardship and how we can lean into Jesus even in the darkest moments of our lives. Jesus sees us in the small and he sees us in the pain; and Jesus is worthy of it all.
Our world and culture is changing, and it can be disheartening and even frightening as a Christian. And yet, we have been called to expect persecution and hardship. As believers, we have a hope that is far greater than our comfort or security; we have a hope in Jesus Christ, the reigning ruler over all creation. Jesus is worthy of it all.
Discipline is an important tool in our discipleship. The spiritual disciplines help us take steps closer to God's presence where we experience transformation. The spiritual disciplines help us walk in steady faithfulness through the seemingly small moments of our lives. There is great power in the small and discipline helps us get there.
In my experience, resting in God's presence is a lot harder than it actually sounds. To rest is more than to simply cease. It is to surrender, trust, and retreat into the unseen.
How do we hold our questions and our faith in tension? Is it even okay to question God in the first place? Today we look at a listener question together.
Part 2 of dying to self. Today we hear some examples of ways God might call us to die to ourselves for the sake of our own sanctification.
Part 1 on dying to self. What is the call to Die to Self and why is it so important for Christians?
This week we look at a promise from the Old Testament and what it means for our walk with Jesus today. How have we taken this particular verse out of context? And what does it practically look like in our daily lives? Let’s explore Jeremiah 29 together. Maddy’s Blog: https://madelineminchew.wordpress.com
