In this episode, we chat Dungeons & Dragons community events in Nanaimo, Crit & Fumble, the launch of Vinecoin, and its implications for the future of Vine and social media. We also collectively analyze the advantages and challenges of using smart tools like Warp, an intelligent terminal, and DeepSeek, an open-source AI model. We also quickly touch on Blue Sky, an alternative social network to Twitter (different, but same same), and Dropbox’s unique brand guidelines site. We wrap by reviewing Shawns experience with the Work Louder Nomad keyboard (spoiler, it’s not good). This week, we've officially become the shopping network, whoops! We bought a couple cool gadgets this week so we take a minute to review both. We kick things off with the Prusa MK4S printer, and finish with the DJI Neo Drone Gavin bought last week. We even include the drone footage in the video, so stay tuned till the end to check that out. In this weeks episode, we take a good chunk of the episode to chat Apple's 'Glowtime' event, and we give you our honest thoughts. We dig into most of their announcements, delving into the new iPhone features, AirPod 4s, and general expectations from Apple products moving into the next few years. All in all, we're quite honest with our review. We touch on a surprising story about a Navy officer installing unauthorized Starlink satellites on a warship, an innovative wildfire detection tool that uses social media for early wildfire warning signs, and finally, we discuss California's new AI legislation which is aimed at safety. To wrap up, we explore the capabilities of the new DJI selfie drone (which Gavin already bought) and critique the practicality of foldable phones (which are so lame). 00:00 Welcome to the Internet Podcast 00:36 Cat Shirts and Timu Shopping 03:03 Tech Talk: Gadgets and Audio 03:49 Smart Glasses Demo 08:30 Memory Anchor and Augmented Reality 11:46 Apple Event Reactions 13:59 Camera Quality and Consumerism 23:35 AirPods and Hearing Innovations 27:32 Excitement Over AirPods and Future Predictions 28:43 Debate on AirPods Max and Bluetooth Issues 31:52 Unauthorized Starlink on a Navy Warship 35:48 California's AI Safety Bill 42:57 Innovative Wildfire Detection Technology 50:20 DJI Neo: The Selfie Drone 54:35 Foldable Phones: A Controversial Innovation 57:00 Conclusion and Sign-Off Links from this week Apple event - here Starlink link - here Wildfire detector - here Ai safety bill - here DJI Neo - here Find us elsewhere: Shawn: https://x.com/nerdburn Gavin: https://x.com/geekforbrains Input: https://x.com/inputlogic Stilo: https://stilo.ai Wanna build an app together? In this episode, Shawn gives us an IRL demo of the Auto Brush, and Gavin reviews the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses (spoiler, they’re amazing). We chat about the Cyber Scooter, or, ahem, the Infinite Machine P1, a digital storytelling project on Chinese Canadian restaurants, a customized bike workshop from Belgium, and a health platform aiming to extend human health. We also click around a tool called Shadow Map which helps you visualize sunlight and shadows on Earth to better plan solar projects (pretty cool stuff). We intentionally veered away from our usual AI-heavy content, just since it felt pretty rinse and repeat as of late. Oh and stick around till the end and you’ll get a live demo of Shawn brushing his teeth. 00:00 Introduction and Casual Banter00:46 Podcast Production Insights01:35 Discussion on Narrative Podcasts03:45 Children's Stories and Podcasts04:47 Tom Hardy's Children's Book Readings05:28 Non-AI Links and Scooter Talk06:49 Infinite Machine: The Cyber Truck Scooter16:04 Cortical Labs: Biological Computing25:21 Sublime App: Personal Knowledge Management35:08 Color Monkey: Custom Bike Workshop35:33 Custom Bike Paint and Wraps38:25 Website Design and AI39:39 Chinese Canadian Restaurants42:14 Shadow Map and Sunlight Analysis45:18 Health Platform: Superpower.com50:36 Italian Plumbing and Heating Website58:25 Smart Glasses and Wearables01:05:00 Concluding Remarks and Future ReviewsLinks this week: Infinite Machine: https://www.infinitemachine.com/Superpower: https://superpower.com/Colour Monkey: https://www.color-monkey.com/Sublime App: https://sublime.app/Cortical Labs: https://corticallabs.com/cl1.htmlShadowMap: https://app.shadowmap.org/Find us elsewhere:Shawn: x.com/nerdburnGavin: x.com/geekforbrainsInput: x.com/inputlogicStilo: stilo.aiWanna build an app together? Hey, hi, hello! We're back with another week of riveting, educational and borderline controversial links.  We were also fortunate to be joined by Robin Newman this week, the founder of Likely Story, a digital game about how to deal with awkward romantic relationship scenarios, all while educating women and young girls on how traffickers use romantic relationships to coerce girls into sex trafficking. The game can help girls figure out how to say no and how to play out a scenario before it could happen in real life. We've linked Likely Story below for you to check out!  In this episode, we also chat Vercel NYC conference, animation CSS, mechanical keyboards and if they're worth it, plus an array of other side quest topics that lead us to ask questions about iPhone sizes, and if phone cases are actually worth it.  Mentioned this week:  https://worklouder.cc/ https://www.common.xyz/ https://vercel.com/ship https://lunchbox.io/ https://tyles.io/ https://hiconsumption.com/ https://twitter.com/JoePompliano/status/1762586506709913846?s=20 https://lenis.studiofreight.com/ https://likelystory.webflow.io/ Find us elsewhere:  Shawn: https://x.com/nerdburn Gavin: https://x.com/geekforbrains Input: https://x.com/inputlogic Stilo: https://stilo.ai Cheddar: https://getcheddar.co Wanna build an app together?
