Michael Gargiulo, who would be dubbed by the media-- The Hollywood Ripper. But with the lack of direct evidence, would a pattern be enough to secure a conviction? The, um, jewelry made of his own hair.... certainly weird by today's standards but it was something done in the past. In Victorian times hair was woven, braided, made into lace, etc. for keepsakes to a person you cared a lot about not necessarily always your lover or spouse. But it was an era in which a lot of weird things were done, and perhaps this custom does not have a place in today's society. As to being pregnant, she could have terminated the pregnancy and told him it was a miscarriage. She need not have told anyone else about it, since it would have been a difficult situation and her decision could have led to abuse and further bizarre behavior on his part.
