This process involves introspection, recognizing negative patterns, and taking responsibility for one's life and most importantly moving past our ever-present ego which is designed to stop us from changing. Inner work and self-commitment are some of the ingredients to a genuinely happy and free life. This is a continuous process that requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to confront unconscious limiting beliefs. The start of your spiritual journey can often require healing in the beginning. The healing process, which can take at least six to twelve months of regular work in the beginning, can help you to improve your boundaries, self-esteem, and communication skills as you learn about yourself more deeply. In relationships we tend to take the trend of two different energies - either being over responsible where we hurt ourselves trying to "fix" things and people, or we go into ego where we tend to blame everyone and everything else for our problems.
