President Donald Trump this past week announced that his "pastor" and spiritual mentor, Paula White would be appointed to a position in the Whiter House. Is she qualified to be a pastor?
So many people expect Satan to be a monster that runs around in red pajamas and a pitchfork in hand. Yet, just as he was in the Garden of Eden, so he is today. He appears good - even an angel of light. Yet, his message conflicts with the message of Christ, even though it appears so good.
Recently false profit, Paula White appeared on the Jim Bakker Show, first to promote her latest book, secondly, to prop up the coffers of the Bakkers. At just about 80 years of age, "God" allegedly downloaded into Jim's mind a revelation regarding a new television network. Of course, all of this begins with a faulty understanding of the manner in which God does speak to men today. Hint - It's called the Bible.
Deuteronomy 28:13 is a verse that is commonly twisted by Word of Faith teachers. Yet, it has nothing to do with personal prosperity for the Christian. On this week's Invitation to Christ we go back a couple years ago to a Wednesday Evening Bible Study , where we look at this abuse. Note: The audio quality is not the greatest.
In a recent clip on the web Pastor Perry Stone exhibited some rather odd behavior. The clip did not do Stone's case justice. The entire message from which the clip was taken made him look even worse.What was his problem? Could it possibly be that he did not want to publicly proclaim that a person can be ill, or even dare die. Those would be negative confessions, after all.
It might be just me, but I have heard the term, “personal, or private prayer language” come up more often. This term is used regarding Charismatic / Pentecostal speaking in tongues. The internet was in a tizzy on Thursday over a clip of Benny Hinn repenting of some of his practices. Has he genuinely repented, or, is something else going on?
Christian Deconstructionism - Changing the Word of God from it's literal sense to whatsoever you want it to mean. This is the essence of today's post modern, seeker-sensitive, emergent "church."
The progressive, post-modern, emergent, seeker sensitive movements are using a vocabulary that sounds orthodox, but, in reality, they have changed the meaning of words. One such word is "authentic." TD Jakes actually gives a great example of what authentic means.
This short episode simply points out the heresy of the Word of Faith movement. Bill Winston twists Scripture in order to tickle itching ears who have been told that they will have earthly riches and glory. The Bible makes no such promises for the Believer. The Believer's true riches are in Christ Jesus.
The Conclusion of our message from Malachi 4. The unfaithfulness of Israel was rewarded by judgment. Yet, in spite of the judgment to come, the promise of the Messiah was, and is, still there.
The promises of God to the nation of Israel will completely be fulfilled. At thye Second coming of Jesus, judgment is indeed coming. Yet, the Good News is that there will be a remnant of the Nation that will be saved, and there will be a genuine revival when the Kingdom is once again established by Jesus Christ.
The Book of Jude is a Book warning believers of the dangers of false teachers, and teaching. These false teachers are compared to "spots." Yet, the reality is that they are more than spots, they are like hidden rocks, or reefs, which can cause incredible damage to a ship.One such "reef" is Kenneth Copeland who still follows his own dreams (Jude 8) who mock the reality, and sufficiency of God, and His Word. We'll have one such example of his lunacy.
