Wait... what? Three of the girls killed were pregnant?? Maybe that is a link... could it be some religious freak who has a vendetta against young, pregnant sex workers?

I can tell in the first few minutes of a podcast that I don't like it just by the person narrating. The voice , the way they speak . Sorry, this one is a pass.

Hi there Laura, I've written a review but did so before I read the negative comments on your voice. How rude! Please do not be deterred by these comments. I listen to all sorts of podcasts and your voice is one that is comfortable and easy to listen to. Sure they've got their opinion, but Laura, please don't allow their negative thoughts to have any consequence at all. I look forward to more of what you may do in the future. From the "monotone" capital, New Zealand.

Thank you Laura, what a stirling job you've done in this podcast. I basically binged listened while I've been doing the most boring, mundane tasks. The gardens' have never looked so good and the house so clean! What heartbreaking stories to listen to. Missing Michael was particularly hard, (I have a Reuben-Michael, he should have been called Michael). As a young mum with three kids (way back when). I was always paranoid someone would pinch my boys, it was a terrible feeling and it remained with me all my life. Why? I really don't know. It made me almost neurotic, but after hearing these stories I am so glad I was. You know what, had someone the determination, it could have happened, with no amount of care and protection on my part. One blink and they're gone. Your thorough, perplexing plunge into these stories leaving no stone unturned, was a fascinating listen. You couldn't even for a second imagine it, I couldn't, I'd hate to. Thank you so much for your dedication, determination

Fantastic podcast. Laura has a great voice and the show is very well researched and presented with care and empathy to the tragedy it entails. I also loved the tmnt, so hearing Townsend Coleman is an unexpected treat. And love twin peaks too.

Such a great job on reporting about Michael's disappointing and tragic abduction. My daughter was 8 at the time however I was terrified as we lived in Nanaimo and it was so close to home. I often look for Michael in different situations, especially when I met new people. I believe he was taken and raised by his abductor and he is still alive. I hope he has grown up and will find out himself who he really is and can be united with his mom and dad and sister. I feel this podcast is so well done, both sensitive and filled with relevant information for today as well as how things unfolded. I am going to relisten as well because it's that well done. Thank you Island Crime. I give you 5 stars!

I was a teenager in the comox valley and it really hit us all so hard. thank you for this podcast. thank you to the family for sharing their story.
