"A joy and a delight!" That's me talking about Eleri Ward, our guest on the pod today! A musical theatre girl at heart, she blew up during the pandemic after she recorded an album of Sufjan Stevens inspired Soundheim covers in her closet. You may have also seen her performance at Miscast 23, or caught her in the Florence version of Gatsby which we discuss in this episode! We also dish about pedestrian lyrics, singing in the groove, how you don't need to know how to do something to do it, and the time she had to pee during her encore. It's Laura Benanti day!!! She's been in 11 Broadway shows and about a million TV shows and is currently selling out her solo show at The Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Not only is she the coolest, but she also uses her platform and star power to talk about issues affecting women that are often shied away from! This week we have comedian Avery Pearson on the pod!!!! Avery started in downtown theatre, then discovered he could write funny songs as a career so decided to switch gears.  He has written songs for the Espy's, SNL, and is currently writing a musical called Space Cowgirl. We dish about picking a writing partner, the process of writing it (pomodoro anyone?) and Avery tells us about how Paul McCartney and him ended up taking pictures in the bathroom together. I was humbled to have this weeks guest Christiane Noll on the pod! She originated the role of Emma Carew in Jekyll and Hyde, was Tony nominated for Ragtime, and has a list of credits a mile long. If you are a creative it's a must listen!! Michael also played Larry Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen, and won a Emmy for his role on As The World Turns. And these are just a few of the many credits under his belt!
